Gainsborough through 5-4 on pens in a ludicrous game.

The only time all match they were ahead was when the last penalty went in

Gainsborough were down early in the shootout

Then the winning penalty came after 6 missed penalties in a row, they had two earlier penalties to win it

Ian Snodin wasn’t with us in 2003 neither was Duerden.
We played them at home in Sept 2002 and won 1-0 and Feb 2003 away won 2-0

Left in 2011 I think,had a spell at Rushden and Diamonds sadly now demised stadium before moving to ground share at Burton Park Wanderers,each club having their name one one stand each :),shame they not still at Rockingham road,could have taken a bigger following.

Rushden was Jan 23rd
Kettering was Jan 30th
Both Satdys.
The old memory must be playing up.

Probably thought it was a night game as I remember Duerden scoring near the end of the game at the far end to us under floodlights.

Let those of us who lived through that period help today's generation of players and fans know that this club was rebuilt on grit and by fighters.

Think it’s a possibility…..

Kettering are 7th tier with a tiny ground and an impressive win in R1, so I can’t see that there could be any doubt about it being on TV. Wealdstone too, but for a NL team to beat Bromley at home would be attractive, but not quite as much as the other two. TV has to be there, they will be everyone’s favourites and we will have everything to lose!

We should know by Monday next week. The 2nd round televised games were announced 7 days after the end of the 1st round.
