Stonewall pen and red card for the foul on Moly.
If the ref can't see that I don't know what to say!

Crikey. Not just the ref but the lino couldn't see their player commit two blatant fouls on Moly. Not only hands around him holding him back, but then going through the back of him for good measure. Why is it when decisions are made so easy for refs they can't do what's right.
I'd forgotten about McGrath being brought down in the first half before the ball arrived. The ref looked like he was going to point to the spot but changed his mind.
Deffo a bottle job on both counts.
Still, we had plenty of chances in that second half but couldn't get clean shots away making it too easy for their keeper.

Its quite clear that it was a penalty and the guy should of had at least a card.
When you look at it from Mols point of view, he should of just gone straight to ground, most other players in this position would have done, and then got the penalty.
Its that lack of smart thinking that is holding this team back. most strikers in all the leagues above(and below) would of hit the deck.

A pen all day for the foul on Mols.
Their player (number4) had been booked earlier so should have got a second yellow and been sent off too.
People saying that Mols should have scored anyway should take into consideration that he was being tugged back and was still being fouled when he got the shot off and was leaning backwards.
We deserved to win that game today and were the better of two good sides for the last hour.
Point of note is how Sharp reacted when he sat down after being subbed.
It looked like he ripped off the captains armband and threw it to the floor.

The incident with Mols is interesting. The defender is all over Mols but I’m not sure he actually pulls him or brings him down. There’s contact for sure but the defender actually does well not to actually carve him down.

Yeah Sharpie is always going to react like that, he’s a winner, but more than that, he never had a sniff, nothing played into him in the box at all! He will have been thinking now we are bringing Gibbo on and changing the shape we will create more. It is not just about him though - and he knows that, he will have wanted to help the lads win in front of a decent crowd.

I thought Sharp scuffed a decent chance in the first half when Olowu made that run down the left and played the ball into the box.
It was at the North end so not totally sure but it looked like it was Billy who missed the chance.

My view was if their player doesn't make the challenge Molly scores, so for me no matter if he gets a shot away or not it's a foul & a penalty. As he didn't go down it's made it easier for the ref not to make the right decision & bottle it, which he did.

After a couple of my "observations" today i might invest in a telescope.
It seems to be getting harder to see what is going on at the opposite end of the pitch. :blush:

He's frustrated because he has a drive to be successful. Just because he's late 30s doesn't mean he doesn't want to be successful personally and maybe even has doubts about his level.
I'd rather that than him coming off and being happy with a pretty average 60 minutes. He seems fairly chirpy on sky right now but he's always been mardy if he's not scoring or winning.
Let's not forget he scored a very important goal in our last league game.

Obviously you’re not including his best and most prolific spell with us where he predominantly played up front on his own without a big man to play off

But you did say this Raven. What you didn't say was that having a stellar midfield behind him is a prerequisite.

Which meant he had plenty of support and players creating chances around him so much difference to be the isolated lone figure up front

It does say that shoving is a direct free kick, it does say that holding is a direct free kick, as is kicking at, which the defender also did and waist high.
The referee is a mug, the linesman obviously is either blind or only there to give throw ins and offside, they both want demoting to the national League North for the rest of this season.

I heard a phrase on MotD this morning when a penalty shout had not been given that “it hadn’t been persistent holding” so therefore not given.

He’s got his arms all over him and while he may not have hauled him down, he’s holding him and impeding him. It’s denial of a goal scoring opportunity even though Mols got a shot away. Red card and penalty. f**king disgraceful.
