Just reported as having passed away RIP
-
Very sad news. He was a great actor who I remember most for his brilliant portrayal of Bradley Hardacre in the hilarious TV comedy series Brass.
RIP.
-
I know he was a serious actor but I just loved that canal boat series that him and Prunella were in.
-
Yes he was a fine actor loved his Bradley Hardacre
‘I cant stand around ere all day, I’ve got men to lay off.’
And the canal series was great.
Had a boat ont canals missen so brought back memories.
-
I wonder if you can get 'Brass' on catch up anywhere.
Mrs Mug has never heard of it and I remember it being pretty funny. Geoffrey Hinsliffe's (?) forelock-tugging character especially.

A friend of my wife is the niece of their housekeeper. She has worked for them for donkey's years and has always said he and his wife Prunella Scales were a lovely, kind and amazing couple.
-
He was Danny Dyer's grandad in Eastenders for quite a while.
Great actor. RIP.
-
The first thing I can remember him being in was the title role in Edward The Seventh. Enjoyed watching him in anything he was in ever since.
-
Saw him on stage a few times going back to when I was doing A levels in the 70s. Met him much later through work, he was a nice bloke as well as a fine actor and will be much missed.
-
We only found the Canal Boat programme relatively recently.
Who'd have thought a programme watching a pair of octogenarian thesps on a canal boat would have been such an enjoyable ride.
-
Have you seen Canal Boat Diaries
Robbie Cumming criss crossing Country in Naughty Lass
Good watch and in 9th series. Very realistic as he came to Thorne and got all his Diesel nicked
-
I watch Canal Boat Diaries. I thought I was the only saddo that did!
It's good if you want a bit of fresh air before bedtime.

Good shout BB, that series was a classic.
Just shows how versatile a talent was Timothy West.
