Post by: Campsall rover on November 25, 2024, 10:00:23 pm
Equaliser for Crewe 90+2 mins  finished 1-1
Vale down to 10 men on 49 mins

Best result for us.

Crewe in the last 20mins reminded me very much of us, plenty of chances created but zero precision or cutting edge when it came to getting the bell in the net.

All these draws keeps us in contention, we just need that extra 10% in mental resilience to capitalise on this league.

Both teams to score, over 4 cards, over 11 corners, all correct, £4 @ 8/1 pays for my bus and ticket for Sunday. More to the point the 1-1 draw is the best result for us

Bad news: Draw put Crewe above us in the table.
Good news: Port Vale haven't pulled clear much.
Potential Good News: If Crewe lose by 2 goals next weekend at Carlisle, we get 3rd place back!

Decent game to watch - Vale have some good individuals, very solid keeper in Ripley, Croasdale, Stockley and Chislett stood out and then Ronan Curtis off the bench is handy. BUT no discernible pattern of play and once Crewe set about them in typical Moore fashion there was no plan B, he cannot change a game to save his life. All credit to Crewe who were excellent and tore them a new one, for sure they will finish higher than Vale and once again our nemesis Demeteriou was superb.

Yes, he's a dreadful manager that Darren Moore.
How on earth he's managed to get them four points clear at the top of the table is a mystery.
No pattern of play and he couldn't change the game to hold out with ten men to the finish.
Letting them score in stoppage time, just very poor.
Worst of all no plan B!
If he'd had a plan B they would have have won that.
But he wouldn't have deserved it because he's just a bad manager.

Connor Ripley is a very good 'keeper - I remember him having a brilliant game against us at Oldham 7 or 8 years ago. Useless fact: he's Stuart Ripley's son.

I'd forgotten Omar Bogle was at Crewe until reading this match report.

That's the best result we could have hoped for. Now we need to start turning our draws into wins.

The typical Darren Moore season sees his team start to seriously falter in the second half of the season. So let’s wait and see.
While they will have one of the top budgets in the division he has still recruited very well I’ll give him that.

We’re not into December so let’s not start looking at other results just yet!

Not good for the blood pressure & plenty games to play until March when you can then ‘better guess’ teams end of seasons finishes.

Getting a player sent off is never going to help a team, i was very surprised to see them sink into their shell and try to tough it out defending for the last 30 mins, pretty obvious what happened was always on the cards after that, Crewe are no mugs.
