Probably one of the most eagerly awaited events of the football season, if your team is in the draw obviously.
The draw is to be live on BBC2 at 7pm on Monday (2nd December).
What do we want, a winnable home tie to further boost our coffers if we should get to round four or a visit to one of the big clubs?
-
Citeh, Liverpool, Man Utd, spurs, arsenal away or home. Not a league 1/2 club - bit of glamour and cash to pay for some January transfers.
-
Home tie against Accrington, Morecambe, revenge opportunity for Bromley or maybe Tamworth or Daggers for old times’ sake. Keep our powder dry for the big tie in the 4th round. No reason other than my daughter’s birthday is the weekend of the 3rd round so I wouldn’t be able to go!
-
Ball 61.
What’s the betting rovers get Dagenham away?
At least it won’t be Oldham.
I’ll take anyone at home, or an away tie with a decent away allocation. Please not Harrogate.
As per Billy’s post match comments, away at Brammall Lane would be pretty special. Easy to get to. Plenty of pre match watering holes. Local. And the Billy factor. A real footballing day out for all to celebrate. And a big pay day in what would be a bumper crowd.
-
Lowest team possible, then a big team in R4
-
Plenty of big teams that would suit, plenty local teams in there too. Personally I'd like a smaller club draw, Tamworth/Dagenham
If we are getting a bigger club selfishly I would like Arsenal or Spurs away as I would like to see their new stadiums.
-
I think most fans would want a big prem club in the next round but apart from that, maybe a decent championship club like Sheffield U or Sunderland. For me, a Saturday trip to Stoke would be good
-
Away if it’s a big team, home draw otherwise!
-
Any of the big clubs away, or Leeds.
-
Like to see us get winnable ties upto a club record breaking 6th round, I believe our best run is to the 5th which GM matched last time.
-

Many rovers have been to the emirates very recently.around 4000 of us mid week if I recall
-
I would love Sheff Utd away, give Billy one last outing in front of beloved blades fans and both sets of fans chanting out his name.
Plus easy to get to and a result could be doable.
-

Lol. Get a result at Bramall Lane!!! I hope.....

-
City away. Beatable
-
A home draw please.
Failing that a local team so as many Rovers fans can get to the game as possible.
Not going to be anymore greedy than that.
For every plum draw available there's an Exeter, Bristol or Portsmouth away trip.
-
Tamworth at home please.
-
Many no doubt will want Man Utd away it think that would turn to moans when it’s £40+ for adults
-
I have this nightmare vision of us getting beat at Harrogate away.
Spurs away for me
-
Spurs away
-
Many no doubt will want Man Utd away it think that would turn to moans when it’s £40+ for adults
I'd imagine most prem teams will be in the FA cup that will still sell their ground out

If your on about LC 2017 I couldn't make it......so I would like to go
-
We set and I think still hold the record for the smallest gate ever at the Emirates stadium for an Arsenal first team game.
-
Dagenham at home might be able to meet up with some old friends
-
Home to Sheffield Wednesday would be good
-

In terms of ground you didn't miss much.
From the outside it looks amazing; inside its poor.
Seats so close to the floor to be uncomfortable and awkward and a ridiculously shallow camber to the stand so you struggle to see the game over the head of the person in front of you - young 'uns have no chance. Vestibule areas poor.
Stadium designer did a terrible job given the amount of space and resource at their disposal.
Rovers played well though after the first 15 minutes.
-
Tamworth at home.
Lets try and get as far as possible. The more rounds we win the more money we put away and then draw a prem team later on.
There is no pride in getting spanked in a 50% full etihed stadium in a 3rd round non televised match.
Get more excitment watching us today at somewhere like kettering in the fa cup than playing man city in a 3rd round away.
-

All about opinions. I thought it was the most fantastic, comfortable stadium I've ever been in.

Funny, I thought the same. Also what a great occasion that must have been for Alfie May, the previous season he was playing in Kent for Hythe Town.

L€€DS at home. Win Win for us they will not want to visit the Eco. See all the Donny Whites creeping out of the woodwork.

That’d be my worst draw by far, hate playing Leeds, seeing all the Leeds morons milling about the West stand concourse. Also for me they’re the best team in the FL by far unfortunately, so you haven’t got the Premier League status for the narrative but you’ve got very little chance of winning.

... and taste the Beer they brew at the Ground itself , and see the Glasses that fill from the bottom
Oh and avenge the 7-2 result when they were dead lucky
-
Last time I said non-league banana skin away, which is what we got.
This time it’s away at a beatable ‘biggish’ team who aren’t as bothered about the FA Cup as they should be.

That rules out both Manchester clubs , Spurs , Chelsea , Barcodes then
-
I would like Sheff United away, just for Billy.
-
I posted earlier that I’d want a trip to Old Trafford with all the
£££’s that would bring in, but I’m now warming to a Tranmere at home & hopefully with it further TV & prize money in the coffers before we pull that big away game.
-
Spurs away is the obvious one. But a home tie would also be good.
We did joke in the car home yesterday we would be up for Plymouth away....

scrap that, weekend of 11th, 12th is when games are to be played...
-
Liverpool, united, city, Chelsea or spurs away please
-
I would welcome a home tie against a team we could beat, so at the moment that would have to be either Everton or Man City

Spurs away. My son is a Spurs fan so we may have to sit in different parts of the ground lol.

They’d all be great of course. But chances are we wouldn’t get through. This round I’d like a biggish club that we might actually beat.
-
If not one of the Big premier teams - Wednesday away for me. Billy would be like a Rabid Dog !
-
Ball 61 in tonight’s draw
-
We’re due a home draw, surely?
If that was the case, then a winnable fixture, rather than a big club (remember - no replays).
A club that can fill the away end (for a bit of atmosphere).
-

Funny , but also very true
-
Spurs away. My son is a Spurs fan so we may have to sit in different parts of the ground lol.
Same, lad is a season ticket holder at Spurs, been a few times and sat/stood as safe standing in the South Stand.
Would be nice to be in the away section (which is opposite to where he sits)
-
All this excitement is going to be quashed by us drawing Bromley at home isn’t it?

I think it's a "wasn't built for comfort I was built for speed" invention
I think.they do 6 at a time and of course have loads of stations at their Bar
-
Can't see any multi heads on Youtube but 5 seconds for 2 pints at the same time is some going.
-
Ball 61 on here unless someone's posted already
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cdr0lnklxg5o
-
61, heavy ball that. Should drop down to the bottom of the bag with another heavy ball. Rovers vs Stockport.
-
If we were third round losers we are certain of £145k prize winners, thats without the tv money and gate receipts , win the third round and that increases by another £90k
-
Tamworth please will guarantee TV slot and chance of 4th round
-
Pigs at home.
-
You saw it here first....
-
I get so excited with these just to get let down.
To top it all off we finally got a good away draw (Everton) but I was on holiday for the game!!
Would love a London premier league away day.
Expecting something shit like Lincoln at home.
-
I think we will end up at home to lower end championship or top end league 1 team. Rovers v birmingham i reckon.
-

For the older supporters of both clubs , whilst Lincoln at home isn’t attractive for the cameras, it would be very tasty. I think I’m right in thinking that Lincoln would be one of, if not the team we have played the most, in all
Competitions . The games of the 70’s and 80’s were very tasty . Proper old school

It may have been tasty back in the day but it wasn’t that tasty a few seasons back.

Jesus . Arsenal v man u
-
City v Salford . Wow
-
Some cracking ties here
-
Wow,nice one for Grant
-
Hull City it is
-
Sell out at dull
City
-
You saw it here first....
;)
-
What a disappointment!
-
Hull away.. nice one for Grant!
-
Hull City away
Winnable and local
Could be a lot worse. Not a bad draw.
-
We can beat them.
-
Ffs!
Dull, but at least it's close .
-
Hull away
-
Rover should fill the away end not far at all ,good draw really and winnable
-
Could have been a lot worse . Or a lot better. Hull
Struggling. They won’t want to play us. Away sell out for sure

I went last time we played them in the cup in 1981. Chance for revenge??
-
Very winnable
-
What a disappointment!
Better than Exeter away isn’t it.
The odds on getting a big team are not great.
Maybe in the 4th round after we have seen off the Tigers. :)
-
Good draw
A local derby
A game Rovers can be competitive in
-
We’re away from home more often than not, or so it seems! Dutch?
-
I went last time we played them in the cup in 1981. Chance for revenge??
Was that the game we battered them and ended up losing 1-0
-
Let's get up for it and take a decent following and win the game.
-
Away yet again
-
3k Donny (at least) cracking away day.
Hope it's a traditional Saturday 3pm ko
-
Some great ties in that. A bit disappointed though
-
Whats the ruling with gate receipts in FA Cup now? Is it 50/50? If so,atleast we should make more their place.
-
So, Harrogate go to Leeds, Salford go to Man City, Accrington go to Liverpool, Bromley go to Newcastle, Morecambe go to Chelsea, Tamworth host Spurs and Doncaster go to..................... Hull FFS
-
Max allocation is around 2500. Although I’m sure we had around 3.5k for lge cup not long ago?
-
I think it’s a good draw. Down the road, plenty of transport options and a game that currently (who know where both will be in mid Jan) we can definitely win
-
45/45 net of expenses of the home club .
-
I went last time we played them in the cup in 1981. Chance for revenge??
We beat them last year in the League Cup away.
Our record v Hull in the Cups is good.
Yes I was at that FA cup defeat at Boothferry Park in 81. Yes we have a great chance of winning this game.
Hull are on a downer at present. Just sacked another manager. No doubt a new one will be in place very shortly. The natives are not happy with the owners. Understatement.
-
I went last time we played them in the cup in 1981. Chance for revenge??
Battered them that day and lost 1-0
-
Disappointing to be honest.

Getting diarrhoea on your wedding night is better than Exeter away.

I think I went with my dad to this on the football
Special. And got off at the grounds platform/station

So, Harrogate go to Leeds, Salford go to Man City, Accrington go to Liverpool, Bromley go to Newcastle, Morecambe go to Chelsea, Tamworth host Spurs and Doncaster go to..................... Hull FFS
But how many of them stand a good chance of promotion?
-

Yes and if we beat Hull the odds on getting a big club in the 4th round double.
-
Max allocation is around 2500
Surely, that’s the minimum allocation? Does it depend on segregation?
-
Away yet again
Probably a good thing given we’re better away than at home.
-

Thats if there's any left!

Another “cut & paste post”
Away again FFS
This season alone 5 ties in cup comps - all away - unbelievable!
Almost as bad as being always away on Boxing Day - I tell you its rigged
-
Max allocation is around 2500
Is that just for league matches, I thought FA Cup was different
-
We’re away from home more often than not, or so it seems! Dutch?
with our away form that's deffo a good thing right now .
-

Not if Harrogate, Salford, Accrington, Bromley, Morecambe and Tamworth win we won't....

4th away draw in a row for FA Cup
We seem to deal in sequences in the FA Cup, our last 13 draws have been 6 consecutive way, followed by 3 home, and now 4 away.
Either way it is only 3 at Home out of the last 13, which at a quick guess is about a 5% chance of less than 4 (378/8192 I think)
-
A repeat of the pre season friendly score would be nice
-
Max allocation is around 2500
Is that just for league matches, I thought FA Cup was different
I think it’s up to 15% of capacity.
I think we had circa 3.5k for a recent lge cup game?
-
Considering only 1500 went to Bradford for a league game equally as close and easy to get to I'd be surprised if we doubled up for the 3rd round of the cup.
-
Looking forward to it. Hope we take plenty.
-

So Liverpool, Man City, Spurs, Chelsea, Newcastle, Leeds are all going to lose to Accrington, Salford, Tamworth, Morecambe, Bromley, Harrogate etc etc & Arsenal and Man U can’t both lose as playing each other. Same with Villa v West Ham.
-

Lge cup/ fa cup no comparison imo.
Hull easy to get to.
The grant effect.
Winnable.
There is a possibility it gets tagged as a risk fixture and ends up with an early ko. Which would be a shame.
Or worse, a Fri night ko.
It won’t be on tv . Given the other draws.
Scunny are away on 11th Jan. Which helps humberside finest.

Was it the League Cup that we won in there early on last season?
-

Yeah me too, crammed in worse than sardines. Pre-Hillsborough obviously.
Rubble, darts, something set on fire all coming over the segregation fence towards us.
Good old days eh

Good old days eh
I remember that season vividly. Hull City had drawn their second round fixture at home to Blyth Spartans and so Rovers were awaiting the outcome of the replay. Many were expecting a trip to Blyth, they had reached the fifth round in 1978 and had a good cup pedigree. The replay also ended in a draw and the second replay just a couple of days before Christmas saw Hull edge through to the third round.
I still don’t know how Rovers lost that day at Boothferry Park. Chance after chance went begging and Hull managed one opportunity which fell to the Welsh International Nick Deacy and he stuck it away.
In the next round Hull lost to Spurs at White Hart Lane, Spurs went on to lift the trophy that season.
-
Superb draw; already checked and train costs a small fortune.
It feels like im driving to the Eco-Power and on a coach with Paul M.
Surely 3k in the away end.
That’s the way philsky! Positivity.
This is a fixture that for so many reasons (but not as many as us supporters!) Grant will want to win AND, it’s a very winnable game for us.
Hull have drawn one & lost five of their last six games. They’ve only won three league games this season & see themselves in the bottom three.
Their fans are on the backs of the players, management & board. They’ll be dreading us (with McCann as OUR manager) going there & winning this game & win it we most certainly can.
This time next year I would imagine this fixture being played out on at least two occasions in League 1.
Bring it on!
-
Millwall v Dagenham is basically Millwall v West Ham, ouch
-
Superb draw; already checked and train costs a small fortune.
It feels like im driving to the Eco-Power and on a coach with Paul M.
Surely 3k in the away end.
I think return train is £25-£30, was last time I went to Hull on a Saturday (admittedly not for footy)

For anyone looking at trains but live east of Donny, it is currently cheaper to get a ticket from Donny to Hull than from Kirk Sandall or Thorne North on the 11.05 train that stops at both Kirk Sandall and Thorne North.

im sure the odds would half of getting a big club in rd4 if we progress, rather than drawing a big club in Rd3
-
Reading the hull fans on Insta, 99% predict an away win, with a sub 10k crowd.. and hull fringe players starting.. to say they are not up for it is an understatement..
-
I went last time we played them in the cup in 1981. Chance for revenge??
Was that the game we battered them and ended up losing 1-0
I never seen a more one sided game and lost my life.
-
I think its a decent draw, so much history and connections between the clubs
Our record 37,000 odd attendance was v Hull
That famous headline "Anderson's men thrill 20,000 fans " when we beat them 2-1 in league cup in 70's as a Div 4 side versus top Div 2 Hull
Battling them for the Div 4 title in 04-05 - full away end at their place saw great free kick equalizer from Mulligan into top bins but later Doolan slipped a horror cross field ball for the god botherer to latch on to for their winner
And very nicely they nicked Grant and then binned him off - plus we have Nixon and Fleming who will be fired up to prove a point alongside Grant.
Really looking forward to it, very winnable and should be a great atmosphere

Believe it or not , I was wondering like everyone else who we would draw
I thought , can't say a premonition , I wonder who Ball 16 is as 16 v 61 would have a certain symmetry to it
I looked and it was Hull so I thought no no ffs no
Fast forward Number 16 , and Mrs Dw was impressed as I said Hull City before it was announced and moreso when I said go on go on 61 ... Sixty (expletive deleted) one

Ball 51 (Accrington) were pulled away at Liverpool. With the light shining on the ball it looked like 61.

I'm almost tempted to say I'm glad it wasn't ball 61. Despite the money I wouldn't have enjoyed losing 18-0 to Liverpool reserves.

Superb draw; already checked and train costs a small fortune.
It feels like im driving to the Eco-Power and on a coach with Paul M.
Surely 3k in the away end.
I think return train is £25-£30, was last time I went to Hull on a Saturday (admittedly not for footy)
Sorry, from Tring

I think its a decent draw, so much history and connections between the clubs

Remember it well Butchers, was speaking to Ray Ternent not too long ago about his goal in that game, it was a low header inside the box, from which he lost a few teeth!. We made the back page of the Mirror the following morning with the headline 'KITCHEN SINKER!' great night.

now listed on the HCFC website as a 3:00pm kick off on the Saturday, but no such confirmation on our site - has this been firmed up anywhere - train tickets to book !!!

No the TV companies have to take their pick of the games, then it’s agreed. REALISTICALLY I don’t expect us to be chosen for telly.
