Thanks Dutch
-
I see that Port Vale have Conor Grant playing..... at left back.
-
I’m at daughter’s carol concert so I’m relying on LuckyPint.com tonight
-
Fairly even start - Vale slick passing but we had first shot deflected for a corner
-
What does Westbrook need to do to get a game?
Close given the ball away twice in 2 minutes putting us under pressure
-
Emanurl looking solid
-
This could be a very well balanced midfield, legs with Kelly, pressing in your face from Clifton, and passing guile from close
-
The commentator has got very interesting voice
-

Thank you for the giggle, ‘the passing guile of Close’
Brilliant dry humour!
-
Starting to do better
-
Think we were just called for offside there when a deflected shot fell to our player. Didn't Fleetwood score against us under similar circumstances?
-
Brilliant turn and run and cross by Emmanuel
And now Clifton just hit a post
-
Clifton smashed against the post
-

Thought exactly the same
-
Rovers have them pinned in their own half, much better
-
Fab save from Lawlor there...
-
Fleming playing well.... we are in the ascendancy...
-
Their nr 25 is regularly 'leaving something on our players'
-
Why are our throw ins always so shit? We always look clueless
-
Liam and Peter could talk a glass eye to sleep.
-
Liam and Peter could talk a glass eye to sleep.
But still better than Mr Walker...
-
Clifton smashed against the post
There's just no discipline nowadays. Players should be breathalysed before kick-off.

Very good! Like it
-
Bit like a training match this
-
Liam and Peter could talk a glass eye to sleep.
But still better than Mr Walker...
Yes definitely
-
Ironside hits the beans
-
Ironside off the post after a great cross from Emanuel
-
HT 0-0
-
Going the classic way, Rovers all over them, can't score, they get one through a mistake, game over.
-
How that by ironside didnt go in. Dont normally come back out when they hit the inside of the post
-
Apart from Emmanual not one good cross from left or right.
Gibson and Sbarra need to do better.
Kelly looses the ball to easily and his passing is not good
We’ve played ok better than PortVale but still not good enough in wide areas and Kelly in midfield no end product
-
Entertaining half of football, more please.
-

I have to disagree - think Fleming has put in 2 or 3 good crosses... both him and Emmanuel have had a good half..
-
Their nr 25 is regularly 'leaving something on our players'
How he hasn't been shown a yellow is laughable, two fouls in as many minutes, first a definite yellow.
-
At least if we need it we have a strong bench
-
.... I actually think that Gibson has done well also - very lively and showing for the ball.
-
We still got the 'A' team to call on from the bench if we need to.
Sorry dknward2,keep having to repost and seen crossed over with your comment
-
Unfortunate not to be 2 up. Despite our current ability to play very nicely upto the box and then scuff/ miss hit the last cross/shot we still managed to hit the woodwork twice.
Emmanuel is doing an impression of Adaluken, McGrath dominant with a worldie pass or two.
Ironside giving it everything. Gibson neat until he sees the penalty area.
Some really nice work from Flemming too.
Anderson owes Lawlor a beer after being totally done, Lawlor with the great save.
Ben Close…. Please leave. He should be running a game like this.
Very surprised if we don’t win this , 2-0 ish
-
First goal will be crucial
-
Playing at the Keepmoat Stadium
-
“Doncaster in their red shirts with white sleeves”
-
Come on donny one goal will win this
-
There we have it again Gibson runs down the left and looses it ball drops to Kelly who again looses the ball not good enough
-
“Doncaster in their red shirts with white sleeves”
Haha, thinks he's at a Rovrum game!
-
“Some have called it the Darren Moore Derby”
No mate, just you
-
cracking challenge by McGrath there to win the ball mid pitch.
-
Emmanuel having a great game
-
The best left footed cross from Gibson unfortunately it landed on Sbarras head
We are in charge we need to score now
-
I think Vale's crossing is even worse than ours
-
Would this go straight to pens if drawn?
-
Do not understand why Clifton comes off and Sbarra still on the field strange
-
Would this go hstraight to pens if drawn?
Yes, right u til the final.
-
Westbrooke and Hurst on
-
Sbarra off let’s hope can go in January loan
-
Come on rovers one last push
-
Can tell ironside has gone off.
The ball is coming back alot quicker when we clear our lines
-
Gibson booked, probably correct but only if their nr 25 had been booked earlier
-
Only looking like penalties
-
This has got a port vale 1-0 or win on pens written all over it and it will be undeserved
-
Yes, certainly scrappy right now
As I speak brilliant block from McGrath to deny a good chance for Vale
-
McGrath with the best defensive tackle since Matt Mills
-
This has got a port vale 1-0 or win on pens written all over it and it will be undeserved
Keep the faith, we’ll win this
-
Substitutions haven’t worked.
-
McGrath with the best defensive tackle since Matt Mills
Thundering slide tackle, that. He’s done a few since getting into the team but that’s the best of them.
-
This has got a port vale 1-0 or win on pens written all over it and it will be undeserved

Here's hoping!
-
4 mins added time
-
There we go, we cannot make the most of being dominant, and we pay the price.
-
0-1
-
Port vale score FFS game over with 2 mins to play
-
It’s a shit business….
-
Just a lump ball up
-
Hate to say I told you so!
-
Predictable
-
Far to easy again
-
I would say it’s a sucker punch but despite seeing a lot of the ball we’ve barely threatened in the 2nd half.
File it away and roll on Saturday, league is still the priority.
-
Stupid competition anyway
-
Undeserved, but at least it gives Vale another game (or more) to play
-
Squad of largely average players. Not good enough, Grant!
-
Hate to say I told you so!
If you hate saying it, why say it?
-
Squad of largely average players. Not good enough, Grant!
Third in the League in December - absolutely rubbish Grant!!
-
Squad of largely average players. Not good enough, Grant!
The squad has more depth this season (possibly) but our first choice 11 is undoubtedly not as good as what we finished with at the end of last season.
Sbarra - not as effective as biggins
Gibson - not as effective as Adelakun
Kelly - nowhere near as good as Craig
TSL - not as good as TLT
Could only argue sharp is an improvement on what we had.
We are doing well to be where we are, in my opinion.
-
Kelly can go back to West Ham in January
Sbarra loan out
Westbrooke can be moved on
Gibson needs a good talking to by GM he’s disappointing every time he plays
The midfield is not good enough to carry on competing at the level we are we need better
-

Ha ha
You never fail to disappoint Alan with your nonsensical negativity

But other than that, how are you enjoying things Steve?
-

Becoming increasingly obvious that there are some players that just won't help to take us where we want to be. January is going to be a big month.

Why loan sbarra out? Fringe player (everyteam needs them) hes 25, not exactly a young 18yr old that needs experiance.
Kelly overall been decent this season.
-
Jesus… season of goodwill? Turkey? It’s just a fat bas**rd chicken…
-

I see you’ve picked out Alan, but chosen not to reply to my point about the quality of the first 11. Is that because you can’t argue with it?
-
Ah the meltdown commences by the same bunch!
Get a grip!
-

Get a grip!
No melt down whatsoever by me. Just making a reasonable point. Possibly try to argue it’s wrong instead of trying to find the easy way out?
I will say it again:
Sbarra - not as effective as biggins
Gibson - not as effective as Adelakun
Kelly - nowhere near as good as Craig
TSL - not as good as TLT
Could only argue sharp is an improvement on what we had.

I don’t disagree with any of your comparisons but Sbarra, Gibson and arguably even Kelly aren’t in our best/1st choice XI.

But isn’t that the problem, Nick? Weren’t they brought in to replace the players I have mentioned? You could only argue biggins (although he became crucial in the run) wasn’t a guaranteed first team player?
-
If we’re comparing then we need to be comparing apples with apples!
Is our starting 11 better than it was on the 10th December 2023, are we better placed than we were then?
January is a big month but not as big as it was last year, and McCann has shown he knows what he’s doing in Jan.
Back in August if anyone had said we will be 3rd in the table and in the 3rd round of the fa cup in mid December then we would of all snapped their hand off
-

God your standards must be low.
He’s not good to be a good fringe player
Kelly runs down to many blind alleys every time he plays.
Are they an improvement on Craig Adelulaken and and a fringe player in Biggins not to mention Rowe

Yeah, and I’ve said we are doing well to be where we are haven’t I? So not sure what you are arguing with. The point about comparing now to this time last year is irrelevant, so not sure what that has to do with anything.
Yeah, the club did pull off some great signings that saved us last January. Worry is we’ve had all summer to replace those that left and so far, those replacements aren’t as good. That’s my point.

We must see things different.
We was better today before sbarra went off, he is neat and tidy on the ball and can be our most creative midfielder once given a run of games.
And the players you mentioned. The only 1 id happily have back is craig.
Biggins - 2 seasons here and only came good during last 10 games. This time last season majority of fan base wanted to have his contract terminated.
Rowe - love the player, but his time was clearly up last season.
Adelakun - might be a good player but clearly not the best attitude. A player who thinks he is above where we are and that has backfired on him. Why didnt a team higher up the chain fancy signing him? Not really set the leagues alight prior or since he departed us.

We were better until we took Clifton off then Westbrooke came on we were poor. Sbarra did nothing in this game he couldn’t take any body on.
He was consistently passing the ball backwards without Emmanuel attacking on the right side he did nothing his passing was poor and weak. When he lost the ball he couldn’t catch any players. So no for me he’s been the worst permanent signing of the summer.
-
Sbarra is a better player than biggins, he was here for 2 years and did absolutely nothing for the majority of that time.
We’re 3rd in the table and the negativity on here is astounding, people need to get a grip. This is the best season we’ve had in a very very long time, get behind the team rather than nit picking at everything all the time.
Folk just sit here waiting for a defeat so they can say something negative, it’s ridiculous
-
You absolutely cannot evidence sbarra is better than biggins. Thats just your opinion. Appears you don’t like other people being entitled to theirs though. Change the narrative about people waiting for defeats dickos, it’s predictable and boring.
-
Any hope of winning that game disappeared as soon as Ironside was taken off. We were the better team and should have won. Poor finishing and crossing were the only reason we lost.
-

Of course it’s my opinion, as was yours when you stated it as factual.
End of the day, would you have been happy with our league position if asked in July.
Yes you would that’s not opinion, just fact
-

Can you evidence that Sbarra is not as effective as Biggins?
Just asking.
