The reason we lost today.
Nowhere near the standard we need.

WRONG …Hurst and Molyneux are why we lost .. we should have 2 up before they scored .. don’t blame our defence if our strikers are just wasting golden chances they both had !!
-
Sounded like Hurst had put his mums shoes in his kit bag instead of his football boots.
-
1-2. Olowu stopped a certain goal.

Ahh, everybody was brilliant apart from Broadbent and Anderson. Different game to the one I watched.
-
You can blame Broadbent because he made two mistakes to give them the goal.
Did Anderson make any mistakes which lead to a goal, or we did not score?
I am all for calling players out but to suggest Anderson was the reason we lost is totally unjustified.
-
A little worrying how we reverted entirely to a very ineffective long ball game towards the end. Even several Molyneux long throws - again ineffective.
There was a hint of desperation about it all.
Essentially we were outfought and outbattled.
No excuse for the result but I thought the ref was appalling. Three minutes injury time at the end. What a joke.
Bad day all around.
-
Not sure Anderson did too much wrong, I think we're more solid as a back three like that. But Broadbent should be made to walk home after that, utterly disgraceful. Add him to the list of midfielders we need to keep on the bench and another huge tick in the 'bring back Craig' box.
-
Broadbent made a huge error for their goal but otherwise I didn’t think he was any worse than his team mates. Nobody really stood out in our team.
For me we look disjointed with this new system and I’d like to see us revert back to what we had at the start of the season. Also bring Clifton back in as we miss his energy. Just my opinion.
-
Why on Earth did GM alter things after the great win at Fleetwood?
If it's not broken, why try and fix it?
-
Christ it’s a good job sterry didn’t play aswell then,I thought Anderson was our best player today seems every time we get beat he gets blame no matter what happens
-
Praise be for Olowu again two last ditch tackles. Very impressive.
-
It was nearly as bad as the Wimbledon game last season-we were so far off it today it was frustrating, don’t think we won one second ball, our players just seemed to get shrugged off the ball- didn’t think we would get bullied again but we have
-
Yes , agreed . It was as disappointing as it could be
Chances going begging etc but again we were not helped by the Ref.
The arbiter of fair play should have sent off their bloke after just 8 minutes as that challenge on Broadbent was horrendous
Ok so we didn't beat them last time when they had 2 sent off ( one really late on ) but today might have been different , but we'll never know will we
-
100% it should have been a red.
SH was a liability when he played at Wednesdays, some really nasty challenges on a regular basis.
With that early challenge, we should have been able to play on that, but again shows our weakness in midfield, someone who can take control and dictate. After the early challenge we never gave SH chance to go lunging in to any of our guys.
-
It was a red in my opinion, late, high, and out of control
-

Its the same old story Ian blame Anderson at every opportunity. If a few more had the same attitude and grit we would be in a better position. Anderson may not look the part but boy can he do his job.
-
Moly and Hurst should have scored and then its a different game altogether
I knew Broadbent would get hammered for the mistake but it was a bad ball to him by Jay.
Olowu made couple of great last ditch tackles and TSL made a great save to keep us at 1.0.
That game was not about individuals, as a team that wasn't good enough for a club that wants to win the league.
-
Glad TSL has finally got a mention.
That was a superb save at 0-1. Kept us in it with a chance of a point,
-
Was very hard to see that save in the first half as it was far end of ground from away end but it looked like a certain goal and he dug it out somehow. Also took just about every high ball safely. He's good. I think McCann signed him as much for his excellent distribution and those two early chances both came from him recycling the ball quickly.
-
TSL is out of contract in the summer I’d deffo look to sign him.
He’s only 21 and tall so he will fill out which will help him be even better at taking crosses.
He’s very aware to danger coming off his line. Was one a few weeks ago where he knew Anderson was going to get outpaced before it happened and he came out and cleared.
-
One yesterday as well. He set off , and looked to have made himself second fav , but he knew what he was doing , backed himself and made a great clearance
-
It was a red in my opinion, late, high, and out of control
Knew exactly what he was doing the way he walked off was like “job done” which tbf it was
-
If you look again at the poor pass from Broadbent, Tom Anderson was the same distance away as the Wimbledon player. The Wimbledon player wanted it more though.

If broadbent didn't make a huge mistake, and if anderson wasn't towing a caravan then they wouldn't have scored and we wouldn't have lost.
Anderson should be nowhere near the starting 11, and won't be a Rovers player after this season.
Broadbent needs to improve massively to warrant his place in the team, he probably would benefit form a loan move.
Very lazy, so many misplaced passes and most of those are backwards.
-
Just six days after Broadbent got us back in a game with a great goal the week before.
The stand out problem at the back was their right winger fancied getting past McGrath and left back all the game squaring them up and going past them, but nothing said about it Anderson and Olowu mopped up in the middle a lot for them.

Not that I disagree with most of the comment, but if we'd scored the goals it would be a totally different game and this would likely not have happened.
-
The Wimbledon brute did a deliberate Vinnie Jones on Broadbent early on and he was half the player he is capable of being for the rest of the match. His mistaken pass came as no surprise
But the real reason we lost that match was that we failed to take our chances yet again. We could have been 2 nil up and it would have been a different game entirely. Compare our strikers with those in the Premiership and the cause is obvious.

Broadbent made a fatal error in the game - no doubt. But he's been arguably our best player in the last two games.
He's young and needs time. Can't just write a player off when he's only just starting to find a run of games. This is where we need an experienced head in midfield to help him. For me Bailey isn't a captain. He's had one year in the football league. It's a different beast to non-league. I'd look to give Westbrooke a run if he's fit.
Anderson, I can see more why he's questioned. He's been here 6/7 years now and his limitations haven't improved.
But as someone above said, we can talk all we like about Broadbent's error but we should have been out of sight before that and keeper aside everyone had a nightmare. Bailey for example barely got anywhere near a single Wimbledon midfielder and when he had the ball was so slow it was ridiculous.
Olowu needs questioning over whether he's actually fit or not. McGrath's worst performance in a Rovers shirt so far. Hurst needs to decide if he wants to improve or stagnate. And don't get me started on Gibson - would love him to not just run straight into the defender at least once.
These games happen. The worrying part is it's been coming and wasn't overly surprising.
-
I would argue that Anderson’s game has improved in his time with us.
His passing is massively better, including the long ones he hits now and then.

I don't think McGrath is suited to moving further left which is what we do when Tom comes back in. Moving Jay out the middle also leaves us more vulnerable at the back. If changing to 3 we should leave McGrath in the centre, Olowu right, Tom/Senior left.

Senior at the moment is one of the first names on the team sheet for me. Even playing in a back 3. People overlook his aerial ability because of his size but he’s actually really really good in the air. Surprised he doesn’t get more recognition on here.
-
Agree with that about Senior
-
Broadbent is not Lg1 ‘material’ & hopefully that’s where we’re heading come May. Just my opinion.
Lg1 will be a step too far for Anderson again, in my opinion.
