Shocking sloppy goal to concede.
Chances...couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo!

It was clear from the first 5mins we were never going to be good enough to play through their press. Direct ball in behind were the answer, we continued to keep trying to play out from the back. The two good chances we created were from balls over the top. We didn’t do it enough.

Broadbents really sloppy there !

That's a stinker from Hurst!

In my opinion the Manager has to take most of the blame for todays debacle. The goalkeeper is obviously playing to instructions to pass the ball out from goalkicks............ but we aren't Man City, we are a league 2 club with league 2 footballers. Every week we sit watching for that mistake to happen. Most weeks we get away with it but we haven't got players with sufficient ability for it to work. It is TSL to McGrath to Anderson to Oluwu and then back to TSL to boot it into touch.
The only way we could have won that game was by being more direct. Giving the ball to either Hurst or Molyneux was a waste of time as neither of them could beat the player in front of them. That isn't just today either, it has been the same for weeks and why Molyneux never gets substituted amazes me.
Rant over and NO this isn't a knee jerk reaction.

Feel for Hurst, he's done everything right there, even got the keeper going the wrong way, just the wrong side of the post.
Moly just didn't seem to have the control or conviction and was a bit airy fairy with that. Contrast that with the conviction of Stephens to anticipate and attack the cross.
Same with Broadbent making a bad decision there, almost panic when being closed down, then to compound it by not making sure he was first to the cross. He showed good moments of composure last week in tight spots so it's a shame he's had that brain fart.

OK, so he made the initial and the most obvious mistake. But it’s a team game and in this instance others had a chance to prevent the goal and they too failed.
Mistakes were made at crucial points in this match. Our best chances came from fairly random balls upfield which enabled a break-away which the strikers were not composed enough to capitalise on.
The more structured attacking moves rarely showed much variation from what could have be predicted from watching our previous games. When we attack in numbers no one seems to make the unexpected run to test the opposition. If these players are as talented as some believe, surely they can be schooled in more imaginative and varied movement.
If we want to keep reflecting on the purple patch last year let’s remember that so many of our goals came from long balls converted in a composed way.
