Title: Grant interview just dropped
Post by: Ryaldinhio on December 28, 2024, 10:18:15 am
Yeboah gone back.

1 signing agreed.

1 other offer in currently.

A part that I took as little nudge towards Molly about getting himself back from his drop in form aswell.

I’m sure he mentioned something about going back to the drawing board so probably indicating his own tactical approach isn’t working

Not that it's not working , more about communication back to basics, who are we as a team and what do we expect I imagine would be the key message.

Agreed, we’re not playing anything like we can yet and still in an automatic play off place. It’s definitely in our own hands

We was never gonna win every game neither was we going to play well in every game,if 3rd in league was offered at this current time of the season 90% of fans would of took it whether we are 10 points behind leaders or not

I had to check the table as from some folks posts I THOUGHT WE WAS THIRD FROM BOTTOM!

So, having listened to GM, it doesn't sound like anything is signed yet. "We've got a few bids in for one or two players, it's just a case of waiting to see if they come off."

"We've agreed with one club and We've sent an offer to another so we're just waiting to hear back".

So there's no confirmation either will definitely happen. It might be a club agreeing to a loan in principle but there maybe other factors involved. I.e the player and/or other interests.

It does sound like one is a replacement for Yeboah as back up/competition for Moly.

GM made it perfectly clear that Yeboah’s replacement was not with a view to being a squad member but a team player, or at least challenging.

Take games played into account and we aren't 3rd.

More like 5th probably. And with very little between us and mid table. Then add in the recent form, and the overall lack of powerful performances this season, especially against low-block defences, and I'd suggest this first half of the season is right at the very bottom end of expectations.

We absolutely have to do better from here in.

Hmm, specifically asked about the strength of Colchester and for the first time I've heard anyway this season he says it's all about our team and what we do.
On Yeboah he gives a list of 4/5 players that Yeboah couldn't get in front of for selection ( didn't  Gavin Baldwin say the days of signing squad loans was over?).
Nothing from Grant on how pleased so far this season he is with Close and Westbrooke and how they'll contribute for the important part from now

Obviously they didn’t know he would be behind them, they’ve just performed better than him. He’ll end up being a very good player

It’s more or less the same with all loan players; they are untried and still developing which was true of Craig too. He might just have said Yeboah will come good to be kind. Is GM’s guess any better than our collective opinion which is that he has needs to put in a lot of work to make the grade even in L2. We’ve probably got equal talent amongst our own young players.

Is the time ready for Molly to move on if an offer comes in , he is the type of player on his day that every club wants , but when you set your attack around him and his form dips or he just gets bullied every game rendering him ineffective , has McCann over rated his abilities when the teams struggling to find the net . IMO he should have gone last season and his long contract provides little confidence that he’s ready and up for it every game and he has showed too often that he hides away in games and doesn't get involved and sulks .

Totally agree, and to say that he doesn't look up for it and hides away in games, what is he on FFS!  Must have his eyes painted on.
