Post by: philsky on December 29, 2024, 05:57:40 pm

We go again.

Need to trust Grant to get it sorted.

Not the time to be slaughtering our players

See you all next Saturday.

What was Grants cryptic message about in the post match interview? Who’s he been receiving stick from? The free press?

If that is getting to him he’s not the man I thought he was.

Agreed but I also reckon it was the Free Press.

He doesn't shake hands with social media or the forum. I reckon a player potentially?

2 wins in 10 league games.

That kind of form needs to improve if we are to even make the play offs.

GM looks like the manager he his, under pressure.

He set the bar high with his early proclamation of up in auto, every match is making this statement look prejudged, he now has to concentrate on the issue at hand and not be sidetracked by snide remarks from wherever.

Maybe something the Free Press brought up, GM said he's strong enough for any criticism

Where do the Free Press get their information, views, news from ? On here, what’s the easiest way to find things out, simple sit at your desk scroll through the clubs forum. Easy

Doesn’t feel like he is.

He was the one who stated winning the league was the target and we are 12 points off, and not in great form, so it feels legitimate that questions are being asked. He should expect that.

And for the avoidance of doubt, I’m still behind him and the team and think we are well placed to still to go up if we can improve in a few areas.

There was a bit of stick coming from the fans sat behind the bench at the end of the Tranmere game. That maybe is what he's referring to.

Yep. 2024 was a good year by comparison.

12 months ago I would be very happy if you told me we were 3rd at the half way stage.

Reset for 2025 and buckle up. We go again.

His prediction of going up auto looks pretty accurate at the minute. He certainly doesn’t look under pressure to me, always seems calm in his interviews, but I guess people will find what they’re looking for

I think his aspiration was to go up as champions, that one is wearing a bit thin, 14 points behind a winning team seems too big a climb, automatic? I hope so still, but the 6 game Xmas league he set up is looking a bit thin too, 4/12 so far, with 2 games to go. If it can be 10/18 it looks better, but even that is struggling to be auto promotion form. We need to change and improve fast.

If we won the next two we would be heavy favourites for automatic promotion so not sure we would be struggling to get auto

I put more money on us to win this league before today’s results at 8/1.

Half way through the season, we win the next 5 games (as I predicted along with today’s draw in an earlier post) then we’ll sort the wheat from the chaff both team, manager, players & forum posters wise.

Be still my beating heart.

I’m on that bet from pre season at 14/1 and still feel that we have a good chance of doing it.

He infered to shaking someone’s hand at the end of season, so guessing it is this Ricky Charlesworth piece in free press.
One could argue his scoring is a little low and some could be a point or two higher, how3ver this was a game we could have won, Walsall were no wonder team, but accept they are top of league on merit.
The calls for Grants removal are totally ridiculous, but do consider we are all saying the same that he needs to have a little rethink to get things back on track.
Total confidence in both Grant & Cliff to get things moving, maybe they are just overthinking a little with there analysis and trying to select tactics and team based on opposition, rather then concentrating on our players capabilities.

He got Ricky a bottle of wine for Christmas I'm pretty sure there's no animosity there.

Your absolutely correct but we don’t do losses and we’ve had a few . Dropping points when other teams are pulling away like Walsall it’s begins to grate. But if this January window has the same effect as last we will all be singing a different tune …

“Other teams like Walsall are pulling away” - Walsall are the only team that are pulling away. We’re being caught up but despite our poor form there’s no club beyond Walsall who are out of our reach (and there’s still plenty of time to catch them if they have a dip and we get our act together).
