Westbrooke?
Still not fit?
Would much prefer him instead of Close on the bench if available.

No football updates so far on the red button...

Any commentary today on Rovers+ ?
-
Available to watch on Sky Sports + for those who have it. Yet to get going so far...
-
Alfie May's scored....
-
Slow so far
-
Seen more excitement in pre season friendlies
-
Any commentary today on Rovers+ ?
It’s just come on … 15 minutes into the game.
-
Bit like watching paint dry at the moment.
-
So slow. Fleetwood have threatened and gave been quicker.
-
Second best. No midfield, no ideas.
-
Agreed - there seems a lack of energy and we're looking lethargic - midfield is getting by-passed.
Fleetwood look like they are up for it.
-
Let's hope the "statement signing" is a midfielder.
-
Molyneux goes it alone instead of obvious passing opportunities
-
It's gonna be a game that's won by a single goal
-
If I was Ironside or Sharp I would be so frustrated as to how we play and the lack of service. This is so indicative of the season.
-
Any possible signing players spotted in the crowd yet?
-
Knock it around at the back and then a speculatively ball upfield! All the football is coming from Fleetwood.
-
Any possible signing players spotted in the crowd yet?
I hope not - or they may have a change of heart...
-
Have we had a shot yet?
-
Have we had a shot yet?
Non on target and only one or two others which have gone high and wide.
-
Yes … Bailey header
1-0
-
We have now!
-
You have to think nowadays that after half a season of failing to get anywhere near their potential something, something is badly wrong. Coaching? Discord? Recruitment? Something has to be wrong surely?
BobG
-
Oh Lord!
Timing great...
-
We desperately needed that
-
Fleetwood player running away from goal and Bailey pushes him just outside the area. Intelligent defending or what?
-
First bit of football we played and easy..
-
Time something went our way after one sided first half.
-
1st time we pass and move the ball around switch sides and run at them (apart from the counter attack by Hurst - which was excellent defending by Fleetwood) and we score hopefully Grant can get into them and we can get out of 1st gear
-
One bit of quality..Just the one.
Hoping for a better 2nd half
-
They are fit, fast, organised and disciplined. Keeping their shape very well. All their players in their half when we have the ball. Took them 15 mins to work us out then they’ve started attacking and we are lucky they haven’t had at least two.
We are pedestrian and a yard behind the game again. Flashes of decent pace and imagination every now and then which thankfully has led to a goal. Great cross from Hurst and brill header from Bailey. Need more.
-
Who knew, running at defenders or getting a cross in is better than passing it sideways and backwards
-

It was broadbent who just pushed the player over should have been a booking but the ref seems to be letting things go

Not necessarily “badly wrong”, just not gelling as well as some other teams. Fans of any side not in the promotion positions might say the same?
Win a couple of games and/or a signing or two to mix things up could see our performances and consistency improve?
Despite not greatly entertaining and in indifferent form, we’re not in too bad a place are we?
Badly wrong? I disagree. Room for improvement, hell yes!
-
It was Broadbent not Bailey! Silly as absolutely no need, their player was running away from our goal.
Great header from Bailey, he rose like a salmon - I do hope this kick starts some form for him.
Somebody mentioned the midfield being bypassed, we do seem to be playing a back to front pass so much more this season, and I think this could be one of the biggest reasons the midfield look so run ragged.
-
Who was the minute's applause for? I couldn't hear the commentator.
-
Does anyone else think it seems like we never attack on the break? Why do we let the opposition get back into place before we kick it back off when the GK has the ball?

We did at Bradford.
-
Very delighted to see that Barnsley are 2 up against Wreckham
-

For all the rovers family that we lost in 2024

Sorry yes I meant Broadbent.

Notts C 1-0 Walsall
-
Salford winning at Harrogate. Notts County 1 up v Walsall
-
Lol Les. Sorry
-
There's a J Lundstram scored for Oldham this afternoon. It's not the John Lundstram who was on loan with us (from Everton?) for a fair chunk of time surely? He was far better than Conference level.
BobG
-
Absolute f***ing giveaway 1-1
-
Another bloody gift
-
Well done lads no clean sheet bonus again FFS broadbent
-
Criminal from Broadbent. f**k him off as he's not up to it.
-
Groundhog Day. Christmas was last week but we continue to gift wrap goals for the opposition.
-
Merry Christmas. Here’s a goal gifted
-
Cataclysmic fook up...
-
We are our own worst enemy.

That one is Josh, our ex is in Turkey playing for Trabzonspor.
-
You have to be honest though and we have been dire. Very similar to the matches I have seen in person.
-
You can’t play decent football if none of your midfield 3 can play.
-
Summary of the goal we conceded anyone please?
-
Walsall have equalised. PV drawing.
-
Passed out from the back broadbent took a heavy touch slid in to try and stop the player but just went into Fleetwood player who slotted in
-
Summary of the goal we conceded anyone please?
Tried to play out from the back. Maxwell into Broadbent whose touch was dire... dispossessed... goal.
-
Thank you Bristol. I had no idea of that.

Need to win we go up to 2nd as it stands
-
Takes Hurst off and leaves Molyneux on.
-
This is an exceptionally low quality game
-
This a an exceptionally low quality game
You could copy and paste this comment for 90% of our games this season.
-
I really am starting to believe there is something amiss.
-
I think Adelukans form last year hid a lot of problems/weaknesses.
-
Walsall winning now...
-
How can you “Get behind” a team who seem so aimless and disorganised - apart for the defence?
-
Very disappointing game with some poor football from rovers. Something drastic needs to happen in the next few weeks if we are to maintain promotion prospects.
-
Yesssss … Billy !!!!
-
Get in covers up a poor performance
-
Great header from Joe to pick out billy
-
Luck favours the brave - ie one individual - Billy Sharp.
-
Yeeessss 3 points !!!
Billy saves the day.
-

That’s twice now, you need to start saying this every week!
Went nuts in my living room for that but it’s another abject performance. Huge improvements needed if we’re going to go up.
-
Sterry close with Billy but Billy just runs over him to poke it in
-
Forsolong, your use of the word 'disorganised' sums it all up for me. They really should know their roles by now - even if they've had to learn 3 or 4 different formations. So, the first suspect is probably the coaching. It could be other reasons, but that's the most obvious. Being disorganised at this point in the season is bloody shameful.

Up to 2nd for anyone who is counting

Get in covers up a poor performance
I don’t think the management team would think otherwise - whatever GM may say in public about the win, he’ll be very aware about the performance issues..
-
Bugger! Crewe scored a winner in the 98th minute.
In fact they were 2-1 down until the 93rd minute. Bloody Carlisle...
-
Up to 2nd for anyone who is counting
You would think we were second bottom from some comments.. if the form and performances continue like this we could still finish in the top 3.
Of course I can see we have much to improve on but where will we be if/when that happens?

You are entitled to your opinion, but only if your interest and pleasure in football begins and ends in the result.

Unbeaten in 2025!

As would anyone who has watched a game or two in their lives. Unfortunately this is not the first time we have avoided defeat thanks only to good fortune and an opportunity which suited the special skills of Billy Sharp. We might wonder where we’d be in League 1 playing like we have for the last dozen or so games.

I'm usually pretty positive, but I think recent performances have been average.... hope that GM has a rabbit to unveil....

Great header from Olowu to set him up as well
-
All this and yet… we won and sit second in the league. I reckon we’d have gladly accepted that at the start of the season. Imagine what’ll happen when we start playing…
Tough game today in shit conditions. Me and the boy were there. He’s undefeated in live games so far. A few observations:
I don’t know why we persist with this playing out from the back. It’s predictable and often the ball just comes straight back.
Olowu and McGrath are some partnership.
Maxwell doesn’t seem 100% fit.
Sterry was excellent today.
Joe Ironside is a warrior.
We seem to be lacking a proper bas**rd in midfield.
Mols and Hurst have bags of talent but really need to be having a pop at goal more, especially on days like today.
Actually enjoyed the game. Cold. Hard fought. And we won.
Billy Sharp - love.❤️

Posts like this are just nonsense, we’re 2nd in the table. We’ve not played well granted but we’ve got 7 points from 4 games over Xmas.

Which bit of when I wrote “much to improve on” implies my interest and pleasure begins and ends with the result.??

McGrath was very brave going for the header to win the free kick
-
Second is, of course, an artificial position. There are 5 clubs that could overtake the Rovers if the stars fall that way.
It only needs two to do it and Rovers are out of the autos.

With 22 League games still to be played.
-
It’s not an artificial table, those games in hand could be against each other but either way there’s no guarantee the games will be won.
We saw that last season when we could’ve been overtaken numerous times by games in hand but the teams didn’t win them
-
Of course Dickos. That's why I wrote ".. if the stars fall that way". Did you miss that?
