I think there should be a concerted campaign to reinstate replays, Tamworth were denied a lucrative replay today by the stupid FA

Absolutely. As we're Kettering against us, they earnt a replay. Bit of irony that tv lost out on the arsenal v man utd replay.
-
I was very happy there was no replay for us today. Great day

Depends which way you look at it. In some ways it gives smaller clubs a better chance of getting through over one game than two.
Also Tamworth got the spurs game off the back of a penalty shootout in the previous round. Might never have had the chance over two legs.

There shouldn’t be replays but games to go straight to penalties the redress the chances of qualifying for the smaller teams.
Tamworth losing in a replay against Burton in the last round could have quite easily happened. They were glad of a shootout then. Same for us today, it worked in our favour.
No replays required.

I like replays. The dream for a smaller club like Tamworth is to give a massive team a game at home,e and if you can’t beat them then get a replay. A chance for the fans and the players to play away at those grounds is huge.
I hear the calls for fewer games for the teams in Europe but why should the FA cup change. It was here 1st. Maybe UEFA can stop making up European cups and expanding existing ones. That’s where the inflation in games is coming from. Not domestic football.
Donny will be playing the equivalent of Spanish tier 4 teams in a lower league European cup by the time I retire!

100% there should be replays. The money that generates has been helping smaller clubs forever.
They ditched them to suit the bigger clubs that don't need the money.
-
Not doing replays is neither here or there but not for the reasons that the fa said to help reduce the amount of games for the premier league sides, that is what got most league fans backs up.
The big clubs don't need any more help

I think the stopping of replays is a good thing because teams have more chance of progressing over one match not two. What should come in is games being played Friday night to Sunday early evening. People can far easier get a Friday afternoon off work than a Thursday afternoon, which then leads to a Friday off , eg Sheff Utd vs Cardiff. The only time a Monday should be used is if the two teams concerned are within an hour’s travelling, Millwall vs Dag&Red

Agree with this. And can we also get the semi finals away from Wembley. What a disaster that has been.

would we have won our reply? But I agree with you, the change was purely to benefit the big Premiership clubs, and shit to the smaller clubs

Disagree about no replays being a good thing. Tamworth gave their all for 90 mins and should have been rewarded with a trip to the London Stadium. Instead the extra squad size and fitness of the Prem shone through. That's exactly what the FA want the bigger teams with more advantage
AND for Spurs to then go to Australia at the end of the season. Boo Hoo.
Disgrace how the FA have allowed Klopp et al to dictate the terms of the cup

I don't think a trip to West Ham's stadium would have been wise. It would have been empty LOL.

I'm kinda torn just looking at it pragmatically. Not every tie features David v Goliath. Whilst we could argue the lower ranked teams deserve another crack, but what about those teams who are much nearer matched and a replay would be a pain in the arse, and not a financial windfall for either?
