I know it won’t suit everyone but it’s great  news for me as I’m working in Limerick that week but get home Saturday evening - was dreading it bring a Friday/Saturday game as I also had to miss the Hull game due to work!

Knocks thousands off the crowd. Hardly going to be attractive for a Palace fan to get back to South London on a 10:30 PM train.

edit* - and I presume with the prospect of extra time plus penalities even more so.

I'll be there but the journey back to Tring will 100% have motorway diversions on the M1 so it'll be early hours home for me !

When are people going to become disenfranchised by the way TV/streaming is treating football? You basically have 24 hour wall to wall coverage with no consideration for fans who actually attend games. Gov. should do something.

What an amazingly selfish TV oriented decision by the football authorities again .

Well, we'll be in the 5th round draw!

Quote
The 12 clubs that are involved in live broadcast ties on the BBC and ITV's linear channels will receive a £125,000 fee, and the four clubs that are participating in live broadcast ties on BBC iPlayer will receive a £55,000 fee. These fees are in addition to any payments from the competition's prize fund.

A 14000 crowd will now be a 9/10k max.
The atmosphere loses out. I hope the tv money makes up for the loss of revenue .

Brighton Exeter and Plymouth games get 125k each. Rovers, the lowest ranked side left in the cup get 55k.
Sucks

Hopefully Palace players don’t fancy a Monday night in Donny either and follow their fans potential intentions and not turn up (unlike the last time, when they gave an amazing professional performance and killed our enthusiasm in about 10 minutes) …here’s hoping.

Those moaning about TV, protest and ask your club that receives a good sum to send the money back.
Which way do you want it? Back to Belle Vue with tuppence ha’penny to spend. It’s the modern game, top end absolutely ludicrous, bottom end getting more than they’ve ever had.
Get on with it, turn up, don’t turn up, watch, switch off, choice is completely yours.

Is it certain we won’t be on a live ‘linear’ broadcast? Games on a Monday night have been in the past, although they weren’t in round 3. Has this been confirmed? Sorry if I’ve missed it

It’s not a choice if you work on Mondays and don’t finish until 8pm and live an hour and a half away..

So don’t give me that “choice” b*llocks.!!

People work Saturdays too.
Get a job that fits with Rovers, if they are more important than your family, mortgage, and your ambitions.
It’s all choices, your life don’t blame others.

Looks like the palace fans are just as pissed off about this as Rovers fans.

Got me wondering, if both clubs agreed to play it on Saturday and told the BBC to stuff it, would there be any consequences?

You’re missing the point.

How many folks can/do get jobs just to allow them to go to football.?

I’m not blaming anyone, for anything.  I haven’t complained about the fixture date - it is what it is and yes I’m disappointed but shit happens.

What I do object to is people blindly saying I have a “choice”…. That’s what irked me, nowt personal..

Doesn’t help I have no holidays left to take until March…

Utterly idiotic decision by whoever makes the decision. Zero consideration for either team and I fail to see how it’s helps either. Ruined the tie for me.

Evening games have always been part of the fixture schedule. Why is this one any different? Luck of the draw really.

If Rovers gain financially by having the tie at this time (including the £55,000) then fair enough, but it doesn't sit comfortably with me that ties like this are moved to a Monday or Tuesday night like Exeter v Forest is too. It does take away the glamour but hey ho, we are just fans who put up with change.

Maybe Rovers and Palace fans'representatives could find a way of communicating to the FA the general disgust at the lack of consideration for supporters about the time set for this match on Monday night! How can schoolchildren be expected to attend a late evening match during the week .How can Palace fans get back to London by train if there is extra time played so late on a Monday night? Martin ..any thoughts Silent Majority ?

Graingrover,

The FSA have already made representation to the FA. There was a whole batch of emails doing the rounds earlier today as soon as the fixtures were announced. There are a number of supporter groups that are unhappy about their fixtures and the general feeling is that a 4 day FA Cup weekend is just too much!
