Crew straight into the spotlight. Good luck young man.

Keeping the attacking intent so will be interesting if we can be a little more controlled in possession.

I suspect Gills will come out all guns blazing so important we keep calm for the first 15 mins or so, then hit them hard.

Disappointing for me that. We’re so much better with Joe up top. And I don’t rate Sbarra one iota. Hoping for victory nonetheless.

Come on Rovers. Let’s hope we put in a performance we know we are capable of and bring home the 3 points! Just one downside … Micky Walker on comms … aggghhh !

Why do they keep putting Walker on when nobody likes him??.
Title: Re: Gills V TLOD
Post by: Barmby Rover on January 18, 2025, 12:35:55 pm
They put Walker on because he shows the same contempt for Rovers that Radio Dee Dah has.

Comfortably second best so far and arguably fortunate not to be behind. Barely had a kick in their half for the last 10 - 15 minutes.

Feels like men against boys...  TSL taking a tactical injury there - hopefully GM can get some messages on.

They're not really a footballing team. It's just miss timed tackles and hoofball. We're trying to play but the pitch is a bit bobbly

I think it was probably a convenient stoppage by TSL to relieve the pressure we have been under

It was definitely a tactical injury to give Grant time to rejig the lads. They are at sixes and sevens right now.

As time went on Rovers midfield started to get further up the field and challenging for the ball. Pushing them back will be the second half challenge. Get the ball to Billy in the right place, he will want to make up for that miss!

The goal apart that was a terrible first half from us
agreed. Usual weaknesses remain. The midfield is just not up to it. Early days for young Charlie but we need more from the rest. Our playmaker Sbarra has touched the ball 5 times and can’t tackle a fish supper. At least when Ironside is playing, he helps us get up the pitch.
Fabulous scoreline however.

Those saying we had a terrible half, interesting that we have had 2 shots on target, one goal. Gillingham only 1 shot on target, for all their possession (Rovers are on 40% there too)

Interesting stat, of all the players on the pitch Sbarra comes up with the most successful tackles won with 5.

He does look a bit lost but we’ve hardly had any of the ball so limited opportunity to get into the game there, and a lot of their attacks have been either down the wing or over the top so have bypassed him.

Ironside should be in the team much more. The most capable of making a ball stick in the opposition half.
