What's the point of being wanded dow, then don't ask what made the wand beep.and bag search, bottle of water taken from one, but a flask of scolding water allowed in

I suppose the responsible thing to do is to report it to the Head of Safety.

It’s just theatre

That's stewarding in general for you though. A show and dance about a small thing but not interested in the big things
Eg MU stewards now use snatch squads to eject the single bloke standing up. But see them s*** themselves and do nothing when Rangers fans were in the home end even with their colours on

I saw this thread title and was thinking Hazel Dean, circa 1984..

I have a rifid card in my wallet to block these hand held card readers the scanners pick that up, and if I am wearing my back brace with metal strapping in all hell breaks loose even without the brace some of the better scanners even pick the metalwork in my spine. I nearly got rugby tackled at Donny Airport going through the contractors security gate to go airside. They had deliberately put a newby security bloke the other side of the xray machine to see his reaction :) ( I was known to most and knew the issues)

They usually let us walk straight in with water (including yesterday)

I went to a Scottish cup tie in the late 90’s.. Inverness at home in early February against a non-league side. Hardly a controversial fixture expecting trouble. Bloody freezing so I took a thermos of hot chocolate. Steward took it off me as it could be an “offensive weapon”. Really.
Kept my potential eye-stabbing car keys in my pocket however..

Once had a can of pop taken away from my son in case it could be thrown but allowed me in with a metal travel mug full of coffee which I take to every home match. Nonsensical really.
Despite the number of wallies kitted out in stone island it’s not like we have a problem with violence in the stands is it?

I remember a Rovers away game at Boston a few years ago when they were selling little mini-flags next to the turnstile and then removing the bloody stick before letting you in!
