Last season it was Joe Ironside who you stated would not score ten goals from open play. I believe that little sleight cost you a couple of quid come the end of the season.
Can you start your negativity against one of the squad as early as possible next season so that I know who to sponsor.

Nothing to do with Molyneux, just our luck recently.
Point being absolutely proven about Ironside this season by the way. Last season was a huge over performance on the goals output. Not to say he’s a bad player, I’ve never said that, just not a goal scorer.

As for tonight, Moly meant it. Unless the player says otherwise. Watch again,look at his position, how he kicks the ball etc. He meant it.

I know you’ve never rated molyneux but you can’t keep giving excuses why he’s doing well as it significantly devalues your opinion, same with McGrath, you’ve never rated him either so struggle to give praise when it’s due.
If you keep being negative about them when they’re doing well then your opinion just looks like your fighting not to be wrong rather than an educated opinion.

This thread has got nothing to do with Moly from my angle. It’s more a statement that we are not creating enough.
Re: Harrogate and their goalkeeper, that was an absolute howler. If you saw a Sunday league keeper do that you would shake your head!

It shouldn’t be hard to find a post as outrageous as claiming we’re a “mid-table at best” (essentially saying bottom half) side.

A bit misleading this though, because when those comments were made, it was because we were failing to win games that we should have been taking points. I’m sure many were like me that were concerned over our performances, which were very predictable in that we were failing to get the ball forward quickly and wasting too much time in side and backward passing.
We have now won 3 on the bounce, however had we continued with the poor performances it’s likely we would have been closer to mid table, don’t forget teams still have a game in hand.

I agree about Moly’s goal. When he gets the ball just watch the direction his head his pointing when he looks up. He’s looking at the far post rather than the middle of the goal which is crowded with players. Just my opinion of course but he didn’t seem to look to pick a player out.

I can think of a few good chances not taken last night so I'd disagree we didn't create enough. I'd say perhaps we didn't against Harrogate and Gillingham but definite signs of improvement.
Things to also note. The pitches at this level have been awful that doesn't help us. Teams are certainly deliberately setting up to stop us playing. Our defense has proven very good and players are starting to show more than they were.
Still lots to do but we are heading in an upwards direction currently. Get something from the next two and we're in a brilliant position, two tough league games to come.

The best chance came when their keeper dropped the ball at Olowu’s feet and he failed to score.

Think I’m siding with Gaz on this one and I’m not sure where the ‘issue with Molly’ fits in to his original point about the nature of our goals over the past 3 games.
We were however much more convincing last night and won comfortably in the end, with more control of the game than we’ve had in recent wins.
Nobody ultimately cares at this point in the season how the wins come, but to suggest we haven’t been a tad lucky in the past 3 wins with how our goals have come about would be a bit head in the sand stuff.

Yes we been tad lucky but last night Barrow goal keeper should have been sent off for the tackle on Molyneux. He would have been in the premier league. He may just have touched the ball but his studs were in contact with Moly’s leg and we were lucky again he was ok.
Also their goal poor one to concede I accept but it hit the players arm before going in the net again in premier league it would have been disallowed. So in this league with some inconsistent and incompetent referees luck does come into it for all sides.

I like the honesty in Mols, it was a cross/shot, one to be put into a dangerous place, if not it might float in, to interpret his words in the interview, but hell, if you don't try it, it will never work!

When I hear comments about goals like Moly's second last night along the lines of "that was a fluke, he didn't mean it" I often think about when a golfer gets a hole in one.
The golfer tees up the ball and hits it in the direction of the pin, with the ultimate aim of getting the ball down the hole.
It flies through the air, bounces onto the green, rolls towards the pin and and drops into the hole.
Is that a fluke or did he mean it?

Here’s me referencing the games in hand that other teams had about 6 weeks ago. Those teams I think did then go on to overtake us for a bit. I said we’d still be there or thereabouts (playoffs is inferred) not “mid table at best”.
People who turn a good run of form of the team we all support in to a personal point-scoring exercise is probably the worst aspect of this forum.
