As you are aware in regards to my condition. I am due to start my radiotherapy and chemotherapy on 17th Feb. For initially 6 weeks (5days a week). I have been given a prognosis on how long I could have, which isn’t great. But I intend to fight as much as I can.
This Saturday is possibly the last game I could attend this season. I have had to surrender my driving licence. I have looked at trains but it’s a bit out of my price range.
Is there anyone travelling to the game from Boston and could take me and my 17 year old lad.

Good luck for your treatment. I hope it works out well.

Hi Spilsby, sorry to hear about your prognosis but you’re right to have that fighting spirit, drs don’t know everything and a positive mindset can work wonders. I live over in Bassingham but would be happy to take a diversion to take you & your lad to a game or two. Just give me a bit of notice & I’ll see what I can do - evening games might be a bit easier than a Saturday but just let me know, nothing ruled out
-
Only will be able to do this Saturday.
When on treatment my immune system will be absolute crap so don’t want to take any risks whilst on treatment. After my initial 6 weeks treatment, if it goes well I could be looking at games from mid April. But if treatment doesn’t go great I will probably have another 6 weeks of the same treatment
-
Good luck Spilsby and hope all goes well with your treatment. Unfortunately can't help you out this time, but keep posting if you need a lift... there must be someone who can take you.

Thank you for the replies

I have sorted out for Saturday. My lad, bless him is paying for his train ticket. He is one amazing lad. Shame I will miss going to games with him. We have a lot of memories already.
I am fighting this but I know at some point it will get me.
When it does I will be standing with him and the rovers family in spirit. Thanks all again.

Ok, sorry, I’m in panto this week and 2 performances on Saturday (oh yes I am!), but please get in touch in April and I will do what I can to help. Here’s hoping the chemo & radio do their job well and you feel better then.

Mrs T and me were in a panto, Cinderella, a couple of weeks ago. Missed the Port Vale game, which was a good move.
