Have been speaking to the Football League in Preston.
As the game was rescheduled from a Saturday to midweek, the home club can choose to stream or not. Chesterfield have decided not to stream, to protect their attendance revenue.
Poor decision in my book.

Enterprising of you to make enquiries and encouraging that the EFL people will provide the information. A selfish decision I’d say.
I sometimes wonder how much those who make these decisions really understand about the reasons people go to football matches. I’m officially rather “elderly”, but if I lived near enough to get to home matches I’d still be there whether they are on TV or not. Also, when it comes to evening away matches it is the time factor, the extra expense and the (winter) weather for the drive home that is surely decisive and you just can’t do it as you get older. So how many away fans will be there who would stay away otherwise? Whether season ticket holders go is irrelevant, so all they are losing is a handful of away fans and just possibly a few casual home fans. And they would presumably get a fee from Sky if it were televised.
What am I missing?
-
You’d imagine that each club gets an allotment of televised fixtures to balance the books fairly. Handing out additional games could be seen as an unfair advantage perhaps.
-
I think it’s a poor decision by Chesterfield, they must have been concerned that their fans wouldn’t turn up if it was shown on the tv

Would it be their decision?

See OP - the EFL say it is.

I seem to recall that Sky+ guaranteed that each club would be screened live at least 20 times this season.
AT LEAST.

Well, we're on schedule to achieve that so far this season, mate. I've watched at least 14 games on Sky so far this season.

So what about Morecambe on the 18th, that one is re-arranged due to the Hull City match, will that be on Sky +

Yes. All Rovers league matches are available on Rovers + to watch for overseas subscribers regardless of any rearrangements

I have an overseas season pass and when I log in, it’s only giving the option of audio coverage. Can anyone confirm if the video stream will be available for international subscribers. Having paid for a full subscription where every league match was part of the deal, I’ll be fuming if the video stream isn’t available. Liam Holden??

I think the video option usually pops up a bit closer to kick-off.

If you refer to the OP, the rule set out there will put the decision in the hands of Morecambe as a club. As the non-season ticket home following in the middle of winter is unlikely to be significant you would expect that they’d take the TV fee. As for the Rovers following, it is a considerably more difficult trip from Doncaster to Morecambe in winter at night than it is to Chesterfield, so probably one for just the die-hards, so putting it on TV seems unlikely to dint the away support.

For the Barrow game the video option was available around 9 hrs before so I purchased it before turning in, I'm hoping it maybe up as you said this time.

Just had a Quick Look and I’ve got Crystal Palace as next (audio) event on Rovers +.
However on the website it does clearly state that overseas subscribers can buy a video pass for tonight’s game. I’m sure Rovers+ Will catch up nearer to kick off. Enjoy the game

I’m watching it with my neighbour on his (dodgy) fire stick. It was easy to find on the EFL fixtures menu
