Tonight’s Line Up:
-
Wow. Don't win tonight, and mcann has left himself wide open for criticism with that line up.
-
On a poor pitch I would have liked us to go with Ironside and Street up top.
Gibson showed signs of confidence returning against Palace but was very poor against Grimsby.
-
One up front, Street? I don't think he has shown that amount of form, but hey, I am not the manager, GM knows best.
-
I know that the mantra is one game at a time but we are at a time in the season where we have to make positive progress.
Our ten game winning run of last season made all the difference to our season.
IMO, we have to win four of the next five matches (including tonight) and that should put us firmly into the top three with just ten matches to go.
-
State of the pitch I can see why GM has picked the midfield I believe Crew Ennis and Kelly would struggle I could be wrong. Street on his own is a gamble but his pace could work. Gibson has to prove we can produce from the left he has to think of the team as well of himself
-
Surprised with the line-up and guessing I'm not on my own. Street deserved a start though after Saturday. If nothing alse, Crew and Kelly will give those fresh legs later on which could make a big difference on this pitch.
We need a response and three points badly.
-
4-2-3-1… again
According to BBC Clifton up top as striker?
Ironside and Sharp on the bench
I sincerely hope he knows what he’s doing
-
It's not a night for fannying about at the back. This pitch is awful.
-
Good job the tides out!
-
Sitter missed after 20 seconds ffs
-
A big ask for Street to make his mark. Will be interesting to see how he fares in that lone forward role.
-
Yesssssss
-
That pitch is very bad.
-
Get in!!
Street causing all sorts of problems
-
A big ask for Street to make his mark. Will be interesting to see how he fares in that lone forward role.
Well, that was soon answered :)
-
What about that
-
OMG. What a start by Street. 3 efforts by him, 2 resulting corners and a goal in no time at all.
-
Streets on fire
-
Streets on fire
Streets ahead
-
Street has produced more threat up front in 10 minutes than the other two have all season.
No doubt he'll be wide left next game
-
yellow for foul on senior
-

What a daft pointless comment.
-
Tactical injury (time out) taken by Morecambe.

Not as daft as you spending time typing that comment
If you dont agree then ignore it !!
It was totally tongue in cheek but i guess you have to have a sense of humour to see that
-
How did street miss that??
He’s on fire here
-
Another chance goes just wide..

I've got to say Liam Hoden was much better on the mic for the Chesterfield game.

Guess you're right though I thought it was pretty obvious.
Anyway, Street looking great.
I think the pitch has forced us to go long and stop fannying about and we look much better for it. We need to keep up the energy tho and make sure we score again while we are on top
-
When are referees going to catch on to these tactical breaks?
Like bloody basketball with time outs!!

Turns out it wasn’t a tactical break, he’s actually going off injured.

Should be 2
-
Come on get that second. Keep the pace up.
-
It's like League 2 from the 70s
-
Anyone else gotta a horrible feeling about this...we need a second
-
I remember when we were 3-0 up a few seasons ago
-
Anyone else gotta a horrible feeling about this...we need a second
Nearly one all just there
-
Trying to stay positive.
.
-
The stats are beginning to show Rovers stagnating in their attacking pressure now. A boost at half time from GM.
-
Thought we were good for the first 20 minutes (exceptional for the first 5!) but it’s got scrappy after that and they’re looking the more likely now. Don’t fancy a clean sheet - Olowu looks a bit off it again - but we should be capable of scoring again.
-
We should win this comfortably, these are absolutely there for the taking
-
Mickey Walker is insufferable. Negative negativity and that’s not positive. We’re 1-0 up and I reckon we have enough to get a couple more.
-
Interesting word that....should! Fingers crossed they get an energy boost at half time.
-
Well we have been the best side on a terrible pitch but is one enough. We should have had three Street should have scored when there was a melia near the post and he put it wide. Bailey should have given the new goalkeeper no chance when a good cross from Molyneux we have to take chances like that.

I reckon what's needed is a Mars Bar, half a pint and a fag.
-
Maybe Ennis to offer a bit more quality and legs in the second half, for Clifton?
Gotta keep up the energy levels though with the fear, we'll start thinking about protecting the lead rather than adding to it.
Big first 15 mins of 2nd half needed.
-

He is the reason why I never listen to R.Sheff at all, he should be banned from doing any work on Rovers.
-
Lost it a bit in last ten mins.maybe couple of changes half time as they have improved midfield.got a bit scrappy.
-
Can’t fathom why Clifton is up top instead of of Joe or Billy.
Their defending for the goal was non-existent.
We need another otherwise it’s nail biting time again!

I’m watching it with the Morecambe commentary on. They are quite good. Far far better than old Mickey
-
Should be out of sight, the effort from the players is like chalk & cheese from Saturday. Don't think 1 goal will be enough though.
-
Billy on for me
-
Can see why Crew isn’t playing.
Proper physical battle and our lads are well up for it.
-
Billy on for me
Didn’t know you were playing, are you not fit enough for the second half?
-
They need to swap studs for crampons in the break
-
Can someone give a copy of the team sheet to the commentators? They are consistently getting the players wrong.
-
-
Where’s my emojis gone!
-
Knew I’d get that from somebody, Filo. Glad you didn’t let me down
-
Where’s my emojis gone!
Shrivelled up from the cold?
-
Good competetive showing from us in the first half and Street has been very good.
No fannying about, just getting the ball forward quickly generally.
Keep it up lads.
-
Street should have scored
-
Am I the only one who is extremely frustrated with this performance, we played some really good football and could have/should have scored three, then we decide to play hoof ball at every opportunity.
When we pass he ball we look likely to create, when we hoof we look every inch as bad as them
-
He couldn’t be expected to do more than he did
-
Good God Clifton's awful, complete waste of a shirt
-
Can someone give a copy of the team sheet to the commentators? They are consistently getting the players wrong.
Calling Olowu “Anderson’
I mean, if you squint a little bit they do look similar
-
Good job these are cack
-
Colchester level. Up to third
-

Did he get introduced tonight as Radio Sheffield's expert blagger?
He should have been.
-
Changes needed. We've lost it in the middle and it's all going long
-
It’s all been long from the 5th minute just after we scored.
-
I know we are winning but we are pants
-
I’d get Ennis on, Sharp on, Crew on.
-
Get Clifton off ffs
Give street some support up top
-
Midfield is none existent
-
Our problem is the usual one 12 shots only 3 on target. Thankfully Morecambe don't have any on target so we are relatively safe, but it only takes one....
-
Gibson definitely should have scored
-
I’m not having this long ball shite is not a tactic. It is every player doing it now, just aimless punting.
-
Get Clifton off ffs
Give street some support up top
Prime example there Gibbson would be far more effective as a 10 or anyone other than Clifton tbh
-
Ffs Gibson. All the good work wasted
-
Gibson definitely should have scored
Was great skill to get there though
-
We had enough chances to win three games. Gibson should have score the latest.
-
Gibson definitely should have scored
Was great skill to get there though
But he should have scored not put it over the top
-
Terrible challenge
-
Silly challenge are going to throw the points away
-
Now it’s going to get messy.
Stupid challenge by senior
-
Shocking from Senior and there was absolutely no need for it.
-
Ffs. That's caused by taking too long to make changes and settle things down.
-
FFS Senior Red, and Maxwell injured
-
Never a red for me but a f**king idiotic tackle to make.
-
Down to 10 men now, we are really trying to give this lead away.
-
Thats not a red
-
Stupid boy.
-
Mickey Walker talks absolute bollaxs
-
Completely unnecessary to jump in there. Hopefully Morecambe are too crap to make us pay
-
Senior out of control
-
Never a red for me but a f**king idiotic tackle to make.
wot he has gone straight through back of him, dangerous tackle end of
-
McCann should have made changes well before, might not have happened that tackle
-
Clifton should have come off rather than Broadbent. We’ll be playing with even less of a midfield than normal for the last 20 minutes.
-
Why has he left Clifton on?
-
We really aren't very good are we
-
McCann should have made changes well before, might not have happened that tackle
Yep, gets fresh legs on a the stoppage would allow extra oxygen to the brains.
-
Senior out of control
Sounds like Joy Division song
-

That's a very strange one.
-
Hanging on now, close up the defence and hope that we can keep a one goal lead against probably the worst team in the division. Pathetic.
-
Senior out of control
Sounds like Joy Division song
Also the plot of Harry Brown.
-
Was having a good game Senior
-
Not going defensive then
-
Good subs.
-
Now thats a brave double substitution
-
Never a yellow there. Zero contact. Acting.
-
Now thats a brave double substitution
Triple!
-
Tactics all wrong tonight changes should have been made ages ago.
-
Now thats a brave double substitution
I’d call it more daft than brave to bring on Ironside and play him in defensive midfield.
-
If the |Grimsby game was the worst performance this season what is this then?
-
Never a yellow there. Zero contact. Acting.
Clifton? Very dramatic from their guy.
-
Billy playing left back by the looks of it
-
Joe and Tom immense today
-
Come on timewaste like everyone else does.
-
Is there any wonder, we're in shreds?
-
Gutsy performance on a crap pitch against awkward opponents. That’ll do for me. 3 points is all that mattered tonight
-
Pushing our luck at the moment, hardly a dominant promotion push tonight, I hope it improves for Saturday.
-
Never in doubt
-
400 away supporters - that’s immense.
-
Well we made this game very hard we should have had 4 goals Street Bailey and Gibson all should scored Senior tackle poor we deserved the win and we did but it should have more
-
the beautiful game
-
Huge result . County and wombles draw
-
That was hard to watch but 3 points it is
-
So did Salford beat Widnes?
-
We need to get out of league two, it’s awful
-
My God we made hard work of that
-
I've seen dons games with less physicality.... but 3 points in the back pocket and quick bus home...
-
We need to get out of league two, it’s awful
We need to take more of our clear cut chances to do that.
-
Got away with one there, we can’t keep missing good chances like we are and expect to keep picking up points
-
Win was all that mattered tonight. But, goal difference has to be a concern. It’s so far behind most of the contenders that it’s pretty much an extra point we need to make up. Could really do with smashing a few teams
-
Not sure what the coaching staff will learn from that watching the replay, but we're third.
-
How have we got to the 4th round of the FA Cup and still played more than anyone else?
-
That's another 90 minutes I'll never get back.
Shittest promotion challenge in our entire history.
-
If the |Grimsby game was the worst performance this season what is this then?
It was a great performance. You are not going to go to Morecambe on a cold Tuesday night & be allowed to play like Brazil. There will be more games like this where we need to dig in & want it more than the opponents. Be happy it's 3 more points to where we need to be!!
-
Hard fought win that, not the best performance we’ve witnessed but I’d take that 1 nil win every day of the week. Don’t suppose the pitch helped much
Onwards and upwards
COYR
-
We really aren't very good are we
Maybe not but we are currently the 3rd best team in a shite division & if we are still there on the final whistle of the last game of the season I will be ecstatic!
-

Yep, I’m with you on that Bessie Red.
It wasn’t a pitch to play pretty football on and we really dug in after the sending off.
Gutsy but not pretty performance.
-
Hard fought win, 3 points is 3 points it's gets us closer to our goal of getting promoted and that's all that matters.
Real team performance from all the players and the fans included
-

It’s not a shite division, it’s just the 4th tier..
