Title: Dunscroft
Post by: roversdude on March 03, 2025, 05:35:12 pm
Is it as bad as it’s being painted with feral kids after the fatality last week

Nowhere is immune from that sort of behaviour, pick a pit village and you will find it. The problem is they feel immune to any sort of consequence, and will have doing it for ages then when something like this happens there's a queue of folk to say just kids being kids , fly high with the angles on Facebook. It's a society problem not a Dunscroft problem

My lad was hanging around cusworth with his mates last summer and a group of scratters from highfields and woodlands robbed him.
He was threatened with a knife and bolt croppers.

A big reason why I have zero sympathy for last week's news.

I'm a long distance runner so clock up a lot of miles.  I sometimes run down that way, I used to often but it's more rare now.  It's nowhere near as safe to as it used to be.

The last two times I've ran down that way I've nearly been ran over by what (to me at least as a 37 year old) look like kids on motorbikes with faces covered, all in black etc.

It's not as bad as some make out but undoubtedly as gotten worse.  Would still run there any day over hexthorpe or balby though.

The illegal motorbike thing does seem to be getting a lot worse.
A friend of mine a few weeks ago had a near miss when one of them came out of a side road without slowing down and just missed his car.
He shouted at them so they came back, drove up to his car and kicked a big dent in the door then rode off.

I'm around that area. The illegal bikes are frequent enough to be noticeable, and sadly often with passengers, no protective equipment and poorly visible. That said, I don't really venture beyond DN7 & DN8 to be able to compare with other areas of Doncaster that historically have had a similar reputation.

Teenage kids, no helmets, balaclavas, 2 (sometimes 3) on one motorbike. I see them regularly around dunscroft area. Lets hope those who survived have learned from it, but i somehow doubt it.

Last Wednesday was an accident waiting to happen, the lads in question had been tearing about Stainforth, Hatfield and Dunscroft all day

Me and my lad went on the Brodie Pit tip Nature reserve and there were 4 Quads tearing the fields up, as usual Riders wore Balaclavas etc.

Plenty of it going round here in Balby, it's no wonder all the junctions and lamposts have flowers tied to them.

Reading that I thought " note to self .... don't shout , wave or give them V sign or finger " but then I realized they may still give chase just because they can if they thought I was at fault.

And with total impunity of course it seems

This news had passed me by so I've just had to look it up.

This will sound very naïve but if this behaviour is so common around Dunscroft, can't the police patrol the area and intervene?

Boots on the ground in policing everywhere are massively under resourced, Pancho.

Kids who are brought up properly don't need a police presence to ensure they behave.

Similar to Bentley pit top nature area with quad bikes tearing about and through Bentley new village area. The problem with quads sems to be getting worse.

Bradford’s problems with quad bikes seems to have got a bit better since they seized a few a while ago.

Kids who are brought up properly don't need a police presence to ensure they behave.

According to that statement, QEII and Prince Philip must have been terrible parents to create that nonce of a son.

That's a reasonable assumption in isolation but it doesn't reflect the world anyone actually lives in.

Police are not allowed to pursue them for fear of causing an accident

It is claimed that nonces are born nonces because their brains are wired up differently.

I'm claiming that feral kids become feral because they lack discipline through not being brought up properly.

As Jason Manford said life was tough on his council estate in Salford always being picked on because they didn't have the right trainers or the correct jogger top not taking part in criminal activity but he says they had one thing the others didn't have....... a Dad

That was my point earlier , always the same when someone wraps a an uninsured vehicle round a lamppost without  a iicence You only have to look at his Facebook page to obtain all the evidence needed to see if it was an isolated unlucky incident or a way of life . I feel sorry for the driver of the car involved, having to deal with all that for no fault of his

The off-road bikes and quads are a real problem in todays society. Im sure every major town and city accross the UK has the big problems with these so called thrill chasers. Personally i cant stand them as they are a huge nuisance here in Rossington. Ive had several near misses with them, tearing about between parked cars, driving on pavements, donuts on grass verges etc. Only the other night returning home, just at the last second i saw 3 bikes, on my side of the road with the usuall, dressed in black, balaclavas, no lights on, shouting waving the 2 fingers.

They are a real menace. Trouble is the problem will never be controlled, nevermind eradicated. The police can barely do a thing. Cant out run them, and even in patrol car the bikes can get where cars cant. Its sad that the kid has lost his life but i dont have any sympathy at all. Some of the comments on social media are over the top, but peolpe on the whole are fed up with these ferel kids. My dad used to say "shit breeds shit" and the vast majority of these so called parents dont give a rats tail what their kids are up too, yet when they get the dreaded knock on the door from the copps giving them the bad news, then the same old cliches come out from them, "wouldnt hurt anyone, heart of gold, was a little angel etc, when the truth is far more sinister.

Will the kids death be a wake up call? Not a chance. They will continue doing what they are doing with impunity from the law at least.

The problem is their is no we took the bike off them ,they will just go out and steal another, the quad bikes are not kids they are driven around by men

Same my entire sympathy is with the driver and the mental torment they will be going through.
It annoyed me that there was clapping at the game last week if it was for that lad

Walking to the stadium yesterday around 12.45 and an absolute idiot on an E-bike raced past me along Stadium Way.

He did a wheelie all the way past the stadium, whilst standing on the seat with one foot, the other leg pointing up in the air.
Must have been doing at least 40mph, no crash helmet of course.

I’m afraid I found myself hoping he’d fall off or hit a lamp post.

We don’t need ‘Neighbourhood Watch’ we need masked vigilantes with baseball bats in an unmarked van.

Watch where these little knobs congregate, ambush them & crack a few knee caps & ankles.

Back into unmarked van then repeat the exercise every couple of weeks.

Saw a version of it in that film ‘Bad nobs & Big Sticks’.

Apparently his mates will stand in line at the gate of the church (they’ll all need directions) & as the coffin passes will each hold aloft a stolen good.

Another young lad gets seriously injured this time on a quad in Bentley. Mother comes out on social media defending him.

Rinse and repeat.
