The Sharp chance was a huge one.

Their goal was poor, McGrath never got off the floor and not strong enough, Olowu allowed his man to get goal side in front of goal six yards out, and the ball in an area a keeper should come for, very poor defending.

If you can do better, crack on!

I don't believe Selby is a professional footballer.

Are you?

... and nobody has told me why Webster went down to "win" a free kick and get Broadbent booked and of course a goal

I agree, sometimes you have to admit that a good goal has been scored.

Yes I agree it was really good work to make room and then an excellent cross. I remember thinking fair play that’s a good goal.

A good cross that came in from out wide into our six yard area with three defenders in the six yard  area and they score one is  the keeper rooted.
Biggest problem Olowu lost his man and let him get goal side, was McGrath taken out probably and fouled by a player playing the man and not the ball, and a ball travels 25/30 yards into the six yard area and ends up knee height and the keeper is rooted to the spot in an area he should dominate, nah poor defending especially the keeper and Olowu who was mugged.
It happens teams have games like that when one mistake costs a goal, missed chances were the main reason we lost the game apparently but we could have been better on that moment  from stopping the cross coming in to the end product simple as.

Just seen the extended highlights after listening to every agonising minute last night.

Omg, where do we start.

Their free kick which led to the goal. Entirely induced by Webster who pressed down on Broadbent who's training arm flicked up to Websters downward header. Entirely accidental plus the ref was wrong side, so how he made the decision for the free kick AND a booking had to be sheer guess work. Agree with all those who said it wasn't even a foul.

The goal though was p*ss poor positioning by both our centre half's, left TSL totally exposed.

From then on though, created some great openings but just couldn't get the decisive finish. Sometimes the right contact ends up being wrong and visa versa, ultimately highlighted by Billy with at least two he would normally score in his sleep. Ironically he might have scored sinning them. Those ultimately summed up the night.

It's a disappointing result but encouraging in so many ways. The intensity,  movement and fitness wasn't a problem.

Let's go do it again Saturday.

So not McGraths fault then?

On second viewing in this instant no Raven I thought he was taken out and not allowed to attempt to head the ball, their player is up over him holding him down, a free kick, and stopped McGrath having a chance to deal with it, which could have instantly put the other two off, no excuse when their forward attacked the ball,  the other two keeper and Olowu I stand by what I think, Olowu stood and let the player in, waiting for the ball to come to him and not attacking it probably expecting the keeper to come, and  the keeper the ball is  dropping in his area central in the six yard box, his to come for and step off his line. What do you see?

I see McGrath and Olowu with a man each but the scorer totally unmarked in the middle

Good movement by the lad who scored.
You have to admire that.

If the keeper had come he  would have cut his target area down a lot even if he had not got to the ball.

Yeah but I was there within yards of where it happened and the cross came in like a bullet. It might appear from the tv footage that it would have been easy for the goalie to come out and claim but it didn’t feel like he had much chance watching it in the flesh. Anyone else?

If the keeper had come for it and anybody between the crosser and the keeper got a touch TSL would probably got roasted for coming out.

I was their TSL did not have a chance of getting that ball it came in so fast and was moving away from him ,it was a good goal they scored as simple as that

Swindon at home tomorrow, probably best to move on really, as tough as it feels to do so. It’s gone!
