Are there any pubs nearby? Will be meeting a couple of lads before the game.

You wouldn't voluntarily not pick your first choice and ever present keeper, so why would he proceed. Also the other two lads are part of the match day squad. Again, why would you voluntarily not have them in the squad. No issue with rearranging this from me. We need our strongest squad to get a result so it is nuts to not have that.

I think it’s just simple, he’s used this as an opportunity to ensure his strongest players are potentially available, thus giving our injured back four the time to get back fighting fit, after all we are at the business end of the season and every game matters ! This could be seen as a master stroke from Grant !

We're talking like none of the back 4 are playing today. Sounds like all of them could be.

Was Lawlor one of Grants first signings or had he already signed a pre contractual agreement before Grant arrived, not sure

If Lawlor got injured during the game we'd be left with Oram. He might be very good for all I know but why take the gamble. We'd be very stupid to take the risk.

Think it’s more the injuries we have

I take it back. Watching that back 4 today get them all fit asap. Attacking output from Senior and Nixon is nothing

Any manager in their right mind would of done what grant did.

A full back 4 currently injured and 3 call ups.
Its got nothing to do with not having faith in lawlor, its about taking the opportunity when it lands in your lap to give injured players longer rest to get back fit and also lets not forget the players who havnt played many minutes like wood will come out of that game today slightly sore and the extra recovery is much needed

It really is, why have we agreed to that? Crazy.

It’s my understanding that the home team gets to make the new date.

On a selfish note, I'm fitting a woodburner into a shepherd's hutt in Prestwich that day, so that's nice.

TBF, we had a similar fixture run at the end of Dec 24 and early Jan 25 - 4 games in 10 days.

I don’t know whether NPL rules differ but Russ Wilcox told me that themselves and Blyth had agreed on a date to play a postponed fixture but the League stepped in and made them play on a different date.
Both clubs were unhappy about the ruling but they had to toe the line.

4 points returned in that period with the only win coming courtesy of a last minute goal. Doesn’t bode well. Really tough run for any team.

Euphemism?

We really are trying to make things a whole lot worse for us, aren’t we? The chances are a combination of tiredness and extra physical and mental effort will result in a queue for the physio/ medical dept.

It fells like we’re shooting ourselves in the foot!

On the face of it, clearly not great. But we will have surely a fully fit squad then, and had a full two week break in advance. If we get some momentum then this is perfect set up.

I note Salford are playing on the Friday evening prior to this rearranged fixture. Be interesting to know how much influence they had.

I reckon he’ll be drilling that 3-4-1-2 in to them he switched to in the 2nd half v Crewe.
Have watched Swindon and Crewe full match replays and we’d been worked out, with Street getting isolated.
Ironside was decent in both off the bench and would provide foil for Street. That system would be way more effective with Sterry and Maxwell maybe even Ennis as wingbacks.
The front 3 could be more versatile too, Mols could play no.10 or striker.

Or maybe ask a bar owner nicely if he will put the game on the telly.

This wouldn't have been as bad if one of the games was at home.
