Title: AI Football and other major event odds generated.
Post by: streathamdave on March 27, 2025, 06:03:27 pm
I asked Grok AI to give me a realistic mark out of 10 for the likelihood of a number of events over the next 35 years. I'd like to be around longer but not expecting much if any beyond this (so basically in my lifetime)

The following are the results.

England winning the World cup 4/10
Mankind walking on Mars 7/10
Aliens being proven to exist 3/10 (apparently maybe only microbial)
Rovers playing in prem 2/10
Rovers winning FA Cup 3/10
Prince Harry to become king 1/10
Time travel to be achieved 2/10 (Apparently only forwards)
Nuclear war (almost didn't ask this) 4/10 (most likely only limited tactical nukes apparently)
Rovers in Championship 5/10 (Described as a coin toss)
Man stepping foot back on the moon 8/10
England winning Euros 6/10
Winning Legue cup 2/10 (Less than FA Cup as draw skews more towards Big clubs)

By the way that should say Walking on Mars but it could end up wailing I guess.

Dave, you could edit the original post to remove any doubt mate.

It seems like you're asking about a match between Doncaster Rovers and Carlisle United scheduled for this weekend. Based on the current date, March 27, 2025, the next weekend would be March 29-30, 2025. There is indeed a League Two match between Doncaster Rovers and Carlisle United scheduled for Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 3:00 PM GMT, hosted at Doncaster's Eco-Power Stadium.

Predicting the outcome of a football match involves many variables—current form, injuries, historical performance, and more. Here's a breakdown based on available insights:

- **Recent Form**: As of late 2024, Doncaster Rovers were in strong form, sitting 3rd in League Two with an average of 1.78 points per home game, while Carlisle United were struggling, positioned 23rd with just 0.83 points per away game. Assuming trends continue into late March 2025, Doncaster appears to have the upper hand.
- **Head-to-Head**: Historically, the teams are closely matched. In their last 8 meetings (up to November 2024), Doncaster won 3, Carlisle won 3, and 2 ended in draws. Their most recent clash on November 23, 2024, ended in a 0-0 draw at Carlisle. However, Doncaster won their last home game against Carlisle 2-1 on January 1, 2023.
- **Stats**: Doncaster have been prolific at home, scoring over 1.5 goals in 71% of their matches this season, while Carlisle have conceded in 75% of their away games. Carlisle’s attack has been weaker, averaging 0.8 goals per game in their last 20 matches as of late 2024.
- **Sentiment**: Posts on X from Carlisle fans show passion but also pessimism, with some expecting a heavy defeat (e.g., a predicted 4-0 loss), while Doncaster’s strong home record fuels optimism for their supporters.

Without up-to-the-minute data on injuries or form shifts in the last few months of the 2024/2025 season, a definitive prediction isn’t possible. However, based on the data up to November 2024 and Doncaster’s home advantage, they seem favored to win. Betting odds from late 2024 (e.g., Doncaster at -110 vs. Carlisle at +350) also leaned toward a Doncaster victory.

So, are Doncaster going to win? They’re the likely winners based on current trends, but football’s unpredictability means Carlisle could still pull off an upset, especially if they capitalize on their defensive resilience shown in the recent 0-0 draw. What do you think—any gut feelings about the game?

Well least AI seems a bit more sensible than that super computer.

I've always believed it more likely we would reach the premier league than win the FA cup, there has only been 44 different teams win it in its 152 year history, whereas there has been 51 different teams play in the Premier league in just 33 years

Once you’re in the Championship there’s 3 spots to fight for every season.
FA Cup just one winner.
