Seems this pretty obvious flaw is becoming an issue. In the west mids over a third of all instavolt chargers have had their charging cables cut and stolen recently, no doubt for the heavy copper content .
-
The copper in them isn’t worth a lot in the cables less than a fiver, a company are working on anti tampering and anti cut type cables

Stupid question but my Kettle lead is plugged into wall socket. Even when not plugged into the kettle I'm presuming the wire is "live" and wouldn't cut it with a pair of scissors
So if these Chargers are not live could they be made live as a deterrent or are they being disabled beforehand ?
-
DW, you have the same solution in mind as I was about to suggest. I don't know how these chargers are set up but pretty sure the cable will only be live when the charging supply is activated by connection to the vehicle. I was going to suggest a supplementary live wire be included in the cable sheath to provide the deterrent you mention but in reality in the litigious world we now live in wouldn't ever be a viable or even legal solution.

Probably just find any random L**ds supporter and get them to do it, there's plenty around Donny.

They place a sharp object on the cable and drop a heavy weight onto it.
