Well that was some end to a match.

I was absolutely convinced we'd end up drawing this one so absolutely buzzing.

Cracking support from the fans.

I really enjoyed that today. Good trip out, new ground ticked off, free parking, great finish to the game, 3 points, chippy tea

Me too. I'd been backing McGrath for first goal and anytime goal but swapped to "One Jamie Sterry" recently

And today he was 33/1 & 14/1

I just thought with his 2 year Contract signed plus I thought Cheltenham would give him.room it would be his day

I dodntnthink we would ever svore but thankfully we ( sorry ) HE did

1-0 down, if I recall correctly. A win would have seen us go up automatically. Greeny got the equaliser and it was one way traffic, until Cheltenham scored against the run of play. We threw the kitchen sink at them, but to no avail. Southend in the playoffs it would be.

I took a bottle of champagne in the boot of the car, firmly expecting promotion to be sealed. That same bottle went to Wembley a few weeks later. Didn't make it home though.

I had beer cans at Wembley, not champagne bottles.

Only thing is they were being lobbed at me by a few Leeds supporters as they boarded their coach. near to where I was parked.!

Yeah I very disappointing day, we stopped at the services on the m5 on the way which was rammed with all rovers supporting creating atmosphere that we had already won the game and been promoted.

The leeds fans were horrible that day, we thought we had managed to escape the trouble, and then got back to Stanmore tube station car park where a group were attacking anyone in rovers colours, including kids.
And they wonder why they are referred to as scum!

Great result yesterday, but omg did they leave it late, thought there were 2 pens, can’t believe the street wasn’t given, the defender missed the ball and his legs went straight through street’s leg, ref had a clear view.

I took an East Riding Sacks away shirt to "fly"  / display in my Car after the game

It was proudly displayed all way home but I didn't get the A1 memo and mostly only the Leeds fans saw it and obvs didn't "get" the significance

2-1 Rob, couldnt get a ticket so my uncle obliged with 2 for the home end terrace, had to keep composure when Greeny equilised

I went to Wembley with my wife & 6 Yr old twins & parked up at Stanmore to take the train in. There were 3 or 4 Leeds morons on the platform, all grown men, & I heard one say "I'll take the Dad, you give the kids a slap", fortunately about 20/30 Donny fans came onto the platform & the thugs soon shut up. I was so glad we stuffed them that day!

I was behind the goal in the Cheltenham end for that 2-1 defeat, when it was looking likely we’d get a winner id made my mind up to celebrate wildly and hopefully get thrown in to the away end.
We walked away after the game my brother calmly stated that the result had cost us about £300 each. Meaning match tickets & train fares.
