Think he’s look a good L1 player when he’s played as a 9. Not sure what the plan was with him been stuck out wide to start with was clearly a centre forward.

Like us to play him and Ironside together been saying it since he signed but it won’t happen

Saving that one for the Bradford game perhaps.

There’s not many strikers as well rounded as Street and Lincoln have him in contract for another 3 years.
Good age too so would take a big offer.

I totally agree and also have been saying this since he has been with us along with Moly as the front 3, I am certain they would be more productive than the current Street, Moly and Gibson combination.
Bring Billy into the mix, and that would suit his game, because the way Grant is continuing with the one central striker just just not suit Billy at all, particularly when centre backs are over 6ft and these days many of them do have some pace.

We’ve played two strikers a few times this season and it simply hasn’t worked

Not really, few minutes here and there.
Not consistently enough to form a partnership

What formation do we play to fit two strikers into the side? Probably has to be 352 and then you negate our to scorer and assist maker because he will end up playing wing back and wont get in to the good positions he does do as often.

442?? we cant control midfield with three centrally, we would really struggle with 2 in there!

3-4-1-2 with Moly in the no.10 position or as a striker playing off someone.
Could play Gibson 10 too.
It’s a formation we could play more if Maxwell wasn’t made of poppadoms.

And they paid a fee for him last summer. Wouldn't go cheap I wouldn't have thought.

Mostly Ironside and Sharp together, which as a combination has zero pace so unsurprising it’s not worked.

True and that’s why it has to be Street plus one of the other two. Starting the game Ironside would be the preferred, street would be the target for flick on’s etc.

Or alternatively we could just carry on playing Moly where is he is, and where he's linking up nicely with Sterry, getting loads of assists, and loads of goals....

We really haven't seen the Ironside of last season although I hope that changes if his hernia was holding him back. Even then, Street gives us more options being more mobile covering alot more ground and alot quicker, so for me, I'd go with Street and Sharp as a front two if pushed.

Can't see GM starting with two up top, so guessing we'll not see many changes in the starting XI. Maybe McGrath in for Wood.

Should be pushing a near 10k attendance  if the folk of this City really want to get behind the team for the final push.

We played that system at Bradford, NC, with Hurst at no 10.

Ripped them apart; performance of the season.

I’d try it. Control is a bit overrated anyway. Often leads to more sideways passes than forwards in L2 players. Rather we control the game by scoring goals and playing in the opposition half.

If Bailey played centrally next to Broadbent and sat in we’d be fine without the ball. Clifton could play off the left like he did for Grimsby too to tighten it up if needed and let Moly stay higher.

The games changed from playing 5 in midfield and trying to keep the ball for the sake of it. The best teams to watch have bodies forward and play quickly. Give me some of that over control.

You don’t have to have possession to control midfield. You can do it with and without the ball.

Which club are you talking about?

Not for the first time, I’m struggling to understand your post.

To be fair Steve Bradford came at us that day leaving gaps and also had Cook up front who we mostly marked out of the game. They are more of a team now and more mobile and fluid without Cook. Hopefully Sarcevic will still be injured or not fully fit when we play them. Even recently though they have had games where they just never seemed to turn like Newport away.

You don’t have to have possession to control midfield. You can do it with and without the ball.

100% but we’d control it better if Bailey stayed more central and just looked to be in midfield. Because we only have 1 striker and no other box threat he spends so much time high our our wide on the right. He’s good at it but not as good as a forward would be and we lose control in midfield.

We don’t lack ability to control it looks more like our gameplay means everyone bar Broadbent vacates midfield. Just change that and be more in control imo.

Maybe it is the service or the change of set up but he's drifted recently. Wasn't much in the game today at all.

Mols is one trick player who only gets opportunities when defenders make room for him to shoot . Otherwise he gets frozen out games and puts his shots over the bar or past the post . Moly is tightly marked and needs to play along side Sterry when in possession and work as a pair to get the best of him ..
