Title: Notts Co. V Salford
Post by: rover-n-out on April 11, 2025, 08:09:14 pm
Enjoying this, two teams evenly matched both trying to attack, defences holding well, Jatta not getting much change from Tilt who's giving him a hard time.
Ade playing well out on the left, he really has got quick feet, lovely to watch.
22 mins gone 0-0.

Cole Stockton, 6 yds out took a deflection and wrong footed the keeper. Very entertaining game. Salford are certainly not gonna be a pushover next Tuesday,  good team. H-T 0-1.

That takes some pressure off Rovers, a win tomorrow and we are looking good.

Not sure how I feel about this one (if it stays like this). Puts Salford right back in the playoff mix which makes Tuesday more difficult, but makes it a mountain to climb for County to stay in contention and could mean they don’t have anything to play for come the final game of the season. Wouldn’t mind a late Notts equaliser and a Grimsby win tomorrow which would be very deflating for Salford.

If it gives Salford encouragement to come at us, I think that’s a good thing and we can pick them off.

Our left side of defence will have to be on it with the lad N'Mai who looks a bit handy with the ball at his feet and quick, all the things we have struggled with all season down that side.

He was a handful at home, I think he made a couple of challenges and the crowd were baying for his sending off before he got subbed. Tricky player though.

More incentive tomorrow if it stays this way.
We can put real distance between both Notts and Wimbledon.

Really need Salford to win this. It’s difficult enough trying to get from 4th to 3rd, so the last thing we want is having teams between us and third place.

Worry about it at 5pm tomorrow…but

Salford look good.

We are a much better side than Notts though.

I can see the lads up top for Salford running rings around our 2 CBs.

Said it for ages. That last game of the season is one of the easier games in our run in

Notts look like they are fairly average with a couple of good strikers. Salford very good on the counter.

Salford looked really good from what I saw. Impressed with a few of their players Fornah and N'Mai in particular.

Haks on a free in the summer......

10 points from the next four games & it’s knee trembler time for the title.

AND, it’s doable!

Not sure it quite puts them out of the equation, but it certainly puts one nail in the coffin.

More to the point, Salford looks a very tricky game for us based on last nights showing. Factor in at some point in this 4 game run McCann is going to have to freshen it up a bit. Tough one so close to Friday

I was surprised how poor notts were particularly some of their defenders, and think this made Salford look good.
Agree N’Mai was dominating, he was all over and will be a real handful, seems like we need to make sure we don’t let him have that freedom on Tuesday, we need to be close to him to make sure he does not have time to run at us or we will be in trouble.
A couple of their other good players, Tilt & Ashley seemed to be struggling in the second half, will be interesting to see how they recover, Tilt was constantly moving his hand towards his hamstring, so if he has a problem will he be risked on Tuesday?
Our old friend looked ominously dangerous throughout, however given the poor defenders, thought he could have done a lot more!

Gone to Bradford City. Good player in League Two but will be 34 when season starts.

Age might not be something to affect him like it does some others.
I don’t think that any Rovers fans were expecting Copps to struggle when he was 34.

I remember reading comments from some on here, Hound, saying about Copps at age 32 "his legs have gone".

Yes there were two,or three who said that, I wasn’t one of them.
He went on to prove them wrong didn’t he.
