Anyone who watched Salford v Notts County last night and our game live today will fear the worse for us to get anything out of the game.
They are strong fast and physical especially down their right wing, clever with the ball and direct Fornah and N'Mai running past the defenders of Notts County with ease.
Tilt and Shephard were two good mobile central defenders and the team contrarily to ourselves today looked on their game. and not averse to the tactical foul and the disruption of the pace of the game, a very professional outfit on the day.
Our season has from the start been up and down, even in individual games we have been hot and cold, rarely dominant for long periods but able to pull something out of the hat at times while like today switching off and making things difficult for ourselves by being sloppy and conceding goals.
We have never really dominated games in midfield, rely on the odd moment of magic up front, and have not been helped by some dubious decisions that have looked nailed on penalties.
Add Adelakun on their left wing who will trouble Sterry going forward and another with pace we will find hard to match and they are a hard nut to crack if we are off the pace in our own game, we really do need to be on our best game for this one.
One forced absence will be Sharp for three games, who had his best game at Salford early in the season And McGrath will probably come in for Wood, the mid field you could chuck all the names up in the air and pick the first to land and have very little difference to me, Broadbent the only visible one who has improved with experience over the season to me, dare we throw Flint in? and play alongside Bailey?
Lots to discuss, Lots to talk about, can we put a game together? if we do we can set ourselves up for a good finish, I think we have it in us, the hard part getting it out of the players, and getting them to believe, please have your say.

This is the toughest 3 points that Rovers have been in contention for all season. Not because of the opposition but because of the significance of it. I am not too sure that the team/tactics/ morale is strong enough to take it, but I want to be surprised, and GM can do just that. Look at those games against Charlton in the play offs a few years ago now, different circumstances and different personnel, but the challenge is equally critical. Fingers crossed GM knows how to nullify the threat from Adelakun, and we have beaten and drawn against them already, so with greater experience Rovers will succeed I reckon. 1 - 2 for me.
-
They have won one (1) home league game in their last 8 home league games. That was back on 8 February against a truly terrible Tranmere Rovers side. That was the only clean sheet they have kept at home in the league this year.
-
Every game tough at this stage in the season. But we looked far ahead of them in the cup game early season and I do think away suits us better.
We have to go with the mindset of we're going to win the game. But it's clearly the biggest game for us for a long time, I'd say bigger than any last year. If we can get an advantage now it's huge.
-
Over 1k of us going, we need to make a right racket and make it hostile.
-
I honestly thought we would win the game today which would have meant a point against Salford we could ‘take as a hit’.
Now it’s become a ‘must win’ game for us in order to not ‘start & stumble’ as the finishing line gets ever closer.
-
Must win game if we want autos. We are up against a decent side.
-
Over 1k of us going, we need to make a right racket and make it hostile.
Only about 5k capacity isn't it? So 1k from us is massive
-
It’s definitely not must win,
We need 9 more points from 5 games to guarantee automatic promotion, we lose on Tuesday and it’s 9 points from 4 games so definitely not all over!
Walsall have fallen off a cliff so it’s between us Wimbledon, Bradford, port vale and maybe notts county. Whoever gets 80 points goes up
-
What bit I watched of their Notts County game, they offer far more of an attacking threat than what Wimbledon did today. Having said that, we’re not exactly setting L2 ablaze with our own form of ‘attacking flair’.
Too many players not performing on the day makes for the frustrating spectacle we all had to put up with earlier today. A repeat of that sort of performance will surely see our unbeaten sequence come to an end.
Billy Sharp certainly hasn’t helped matters, either, as he’s taken an attacking option away from GM. Also, I was very disappointed with PK, after his introduction - he seemed to lose energy after about 10-15 minutes?
Oh well, the lads are going to have to find some decent re-charge facilities to put their bodies on the line for what is another challenging fixture. It’s a place in the top 3 lads - come on!!

From what I saw of the Notts C game they will do well to make play offs. I thought they were terrible against Salford.
-
I was referring to how Salford played - not Notts County!

Salford looked good against a really poor performing Notts C.

Another tough game, win it & we are looking good going into Friday. Massive game.

This is the pivotal game of the run in. This can change everything.

9 points doesn’t guarantee us promotion. It would make it highly likely given Walsall’s form but certainly not a guarantee.
Also, you reference Walsall’s form but do you not recognise that even 3 wins from 5 for us would require a bit of a gearshift for us? It’s taken us 8 games to get that many wins in our most recent run.
-
2 wins and 3 draws will also do,
If we get to 80,
Realistically only Walsall can get to that, it would almost certainly put Wimbledon and Notts county out the picture
9 points from 5 games is exactly what we’ve just done so needs no gear shift whatsoever

That’s fair, 2 wins and 3 draws would probably be enough.
But that would still need us to beat a top half team. Which we’ve not done since October.
-
Might need more than 80 points to get automatic promotion, as it is so tight at the top.
-
Salford 2/1 for the win. Rovers23/20. Sky bet
-
Anyone who watched us yesterday will be saying how garbage we are. Can only see a Salford win
-
Might need more than 80 points to get automatic promotion, as it is so tight at the top.
Only if you think Notts county and Wimbledon will win all their remaining games
-
What about the three clubs above us? They could prevent us from getting automatic promotion.
-

Don’t forget rovers have the game in hand (Salford )
-
Only way I see is winning this is dropping this ineffective system. Stop starting with 10 men (Sbarra/Clifton). 3 at the back 2 wing backs. Broadbent and Bailey in the middle of the park and literally tell Street Molyneux and Gibson to forget defending.
-
What about the three clubs above us? They could prevent us from getting automatic promotion.
Of course
But there are 3 spots up for grabs and if we get 80
Points then only those 3 can match us, can’t see Walsall getting them

Our issue is the schedule. Salford had an extra days rest/ preparation. Then playing Friday, Monday, against teams that have played one game less in this period, is brutal.
-
Also looks like only the keeper will play who missing at the time back then.
-
All our last games are very important and very hard to pick up point, but 3 points in the bag with a 2-0 win

don’t know how you worked out your points prediction, but that’s just a maybe or hopefully, I would aim for the points to guarantee a playoff place first, then see what happens, it’s going down to the wire with all the top 8/9 tesms

It’s really not difficult
Have a look at the table and see how many can catch us if we get 80 points
-
Wimbledon can get a max of 81 points, NC can get a max of 80 points.
-
Indeed they can but both of them also have difficult matches coming up.
It’s going to be an exciting end to the season.
-
Some of them play each other too..
-
Wimbledon can get a max of 81 points, NC can get a max of 80 points.
If Notts and Wimbledon get these points it will mean they’ve taken points from port vale and Bradford!
-
We win this game we go second in the table.
Not only does it show the depth of signings Grant made for us to push onto automatic promotion, it shows the measure of the man.
-
They are all huge games from now on but Tuesday night at Salford is as big as it gets.
A win there would be a really big boost for our promotion push.
Come on lads, we can do this.
-
Following the pre season hype I was really expecting us to muller some teams in league 2 this season, I am still waiting for it to happen, hopefully it will tomorrow night.

1-0 off Anderson’s backside will do
-
It’s in our own hands at the moment, I just hope it still is when we’re at home v Bradford, as it means we’ve had a good week! :boxing:
-
I watched Salford Vs Bromley recently and it was truly horrific.
We've not exactly been playing Copacabana togger this year but it was difficult to comprehend that game was being played at the same level as us.
It was like something off that Crap90sFootball website. No end of misplaced passes and balls hoyed over shoulders and into orbit.
Then Jon Taylor showed the only bit of class of the night, with two lovely crosses for Salford to gain a late point.
-
I’m going to lump on a Salford win. If they do then my wallet is happy . If rovers win or draw I’m happy .

Me too
I’ve put everything I won on the masters onto Salford at 2/1
-
Salford have a lot of injury issues so the disadvantage of our having a half baked semi fit defence might just be outweighed by their outfield deficiencies.
Happy to settle for one nil from an Anderson buttock.
-
3 players doubtful for us apparently
-

With Karl Robinsons current form against us it wouldn't surprise me if they win

Saw that too BST, Bromley were absolutely out on their feet after 70 minutes, then they go & defend like they did against us for 90 plus!

A bit of me thinks he was going to rotate anyway and he’s saying this to also keep Tranmere guessing.
-
I wonder who’s in doubt. Maxwell still probably, not sure who else might have got a knock Saturday. I really hope we can put in a performance tomorrow. Need to make a statement really. Although I’d take playing crap and scraping any kind of a win to be fair.
-
Maybe Clifton has after effects of the red card challenge.
-
We know Wood & McGrath are not 100%, and Maxwell
Ironside looks like he might be not fully fit after hernia op
Kelly looked off it
Plenty of candidates
-
Sterry took a bad knock and was holding his groin for a while, however it didn’t stop him from hitting the back of the onion sack ! I hope he’s fit and well.
-
Sterry was flattened just before his goal and looked like his shoulder had come out. He played on carrying his arm and 1min later scored. When he was coming back to position for kick off he was waving to the bench pointing at his shoulder.
Senior late in the game was also waving to the bench.

How long back does that cover? Probably a bit of a stretch to call it “current form”!

done his shoulder a few times this season and played on with it, just hasn’t took throw ins until recently.
One of them injuries that u can’t really fully heal, will have to crack on with it and I’m sure with the form he’s in he will want to.
Reckon Wood will be one of the 3 doubts McCann mentioned especially with the busy period so can see McGrath starting with Ando tonight and then maybe Wood back in on Friday.
-
Whoever plays we must try and get a win I watched Salford and Notts of Friday Salford played 343 Adulekan played left wing back. They over powered Notts. Will we continue to play 4231 where the striker (Street) is isolated. Will the two wide players continue to try and cut inside and forget they can either swap and go to the byeline.
Salford will double up on Molyneux to try and negate his threat, Wimbledon was very successful with that. The attacking midfield player is a problem all three we have tried there have their faults and hence poor link up play with the central striker. Salford will want to win to move them up one place and 2pts off playoffs. We will want to win to put on 74 pts and in to second place. All results possible in this game we have to be at our best both in attacking and scoring mode but defensively we need to ensure we block out their chances. First of 5 difficult games
-
We certainly need to switch Moly & Gibbo up more, Moly certainly looked more effective on the left at Cheltenham, at least keep Salford guessing a bit.
-
I just hope that Haks isn’t on form and we can keep him quiet, because as we all know when on his game he’s one potent force in this division!
-
I'd love a game where we get the game by the scruff of the neck, but the reality this season suggests it's unlikely.
I'd expect a game again that's a roller coaster of emotions, and therefore I'm seeing a draw.
-

See where he plays tonight he definitely played majority of the game on Friday night at LWB not in the front three. If he does he will be marking Mols
-
Fuming! Took the firestick on holiday with me and forgot to pack the remote!!!!
-

I feel for you, Filo. I did a similarly dumb trick last year going on holiday to Italy. We had car hire arranged to visit a list of places and I put every place into the satnav even down to the meet 'n greet drop-off at Gatwick. Wasn't till we arrived at Malpensa to pick up the hire car I realised I'd left the satnav in the car at Gatwick. It was fun trying to use the mobile for directions without a dash mount.
-
Can’t you control your firestick via your phone Filo ? I’m sure it can be done! Try google.

Think we need to score 1st to have any chance tonight
Fyi it's on sky sports+ the main channel

That would be fantastic. Not exactly renowned for his defensive ability.

Salford are fancied tonight by the punters. Now down to 19/10.
-
Rovers are 6/5 though, it reflects how tight it is between us. I hope that's wrong, Rovers for me all the way.

-
Just seen the team.
Silly Billy.
Thanks to his red we now have no striker on the bench so guessing Ironside was one of the injury doubts. Hope he is fit for Friday. The running street puts in at high pace he is a risk of injury playing 4 games in 10days with no respite.

Anderson is dreadful, shocking position to give a free kick away, hope he's one that's out of contract in the summer.
-

played well but lack a real threat ( all season) and unless we start getting out passing up to scratch the play offs is probably the only we out of L2 now .
-
Play offs it is then.
-
A point is better than none but it feels we aren't playing with much belief or intelligence at the moment, just hoping someone gets on the end of something.
Concerns me when we drop deep, but I guess we're hoping to catch teams on the break.
Are the players too afraid to lose rather than being brave enough to grasp the opportunity in front of them?
It doesn't look like a Grant McCann team of high risk takers.
-
Did anyone see the team/squad before the game???? We are on our bones.
What were you expecting?
No attacking options on the bench.
Bench full of ppl that GM has no faith in
Flint recalled and on bench
No westbrook but flint/crew on there
The game needed changing from about 55th minute, expected to wait until the usual 70th, but when that didn't come I knew the squad was as threadbare as I worried about.
We now play away in 3 days against a team fighting for their lives who have had 6days recovery.......hold on for the topsy-turvy finish boys!!!!!
-
Play offs it is then.
We needed 2 wins and 3 draws
That’s one of the draws.
The same people who said we would lose tonight are now complaining we drew
Absolutely bonkers
-
Thank goodness we have Street.
A quality strike for the opening goal from a brilliant pass by Bails.
Then a totally unnecessary ‘tackle’ by Anderson (thanks Tom but you’re past your ‘sell by date’) gives them the only chance on goal from which they score.
We were p**s poor against a side that I forecast will be in this division or even lower for the next three years.
However, come Good Friday we can resurrect our position in this division with a win against Tranmere. If we don’t win that game then we have truly under performed this season.

Christ Usher, you have changed your tune. Calling me out on here last week for giving Gibbo grief after an absolute shit show for 87minutes before 1 cross, now your going into writing calling out a long standing servant like Amderson for giving a free kick away.....that there was all 11 men behind and then a shot on target our keeper should save and you call out the foul?
Watch the goal again because for me it looked a poor strike of the ball and the bounce made it over the keeper.
Hey ho. It's all opinions. Atleast have some consistency fella, I do.
-
Tranmere have a terrible record against us at their place. Lost four of the last five, and won the other one after the brief Danny Schofield honeymoon was wearing well and truly off.
-
CBCB, that’s put the mockers on the Tranmere game! We’re playing bad enough without you adding to it! ;)

Anderson was the only fit centre half and apart from the foul (which we should have defended better) he was probably our best player. Won pretty much everything in the air again. My man of the match!! Midfield was the problem today along with a lack of composure up front.

We had 2 chances to nip that attack in the bud, before it got to Tom's challenge, can't put all the blame on him.

I agree Gaz and even more worrying it needed changing from 55mins, thought usual GM 70 when it got to 75 I k ew he had no confidence in his bench of the threadbare squad.
Hopefully we don't get any injuries but I'm worried for:
Street
Maxwell
Sterry
Wood or McGrath (whichever they rush back)
-
Sounds, from GM, that any of the 3 could be back, with (maybe) JI having the better chance!

The lack of composure going forward cost us three points this evening.it came from three show ponies who believe they can win games on their own despite running down bind alleys. Kelly from midfield can run with ball that’s a fact but no end product either a pass or shot just loses the ball. Gibson looks good but all he wants to do is shoot with his right foot his left is no good to cross with. 2/3 occasions he broke ball second half with Street or Molyneux in better positions did he pass no he shot more like a back pass. Then we come to Molyneux again he wants to cut in and shot with his left foot but when he did not one good effort on goal. Yes he at least did pass the ball which should have led to a goal. The front three and Kelly looked like individual players did they want interlink with each other only Street. If they are going to do things by themselves then they must score.
Yes you blame tiredness or poor wall for their goal but we needed better play in forward area and more composure.
-
Just stopped for a coffee on way home and bit surprised at general reaction. I thought that was a good point against a decent team- they had some very good individuals, reminded me of the team Crawley put together last season to get through play offs. Yes we showed our usual limitations but we were up against better players, especially in midfield, and I thought we showed a lot of heart and could have nicked it. Still think we are in it.

Someone talking a bit of sense at last!
It’s a good point!
We need 8 points now from the last 4 games, maybe a couple less but 8 will secure it
-
I liked the idea of us getting the ball forward quickly against a side that had a lot more possession and committed players forward. We looked bright doing that for the first 30 mins. But we faded then and didn't seem to have the legs to take the game to them after that.
And however you look at it, our poor run against the better sides goes on. That's now 5 points from our last 11 matches against teams in the top 10 when we played them (draws against Notts C, Crewe, Walsall, Wimbledon and Salford, defeats against Bromley, Chesterfield, PV, Walsall, Wimbledon and Grimsby).
We still don't look strong enough to control games against the better sides, and that's got to change very quickly now, with a squad that's threadbare and struggling for energy.
Big deep breath and fingers crossed for Friday. That has to be a win I think, given the final three games.

We went toe to toe with another competitor in L2 and these IMO had better quality in a few Individuals.
Felt like an important 3pts but was not be all and end all. We move onto 7 undefeated.
Undefeated in top 7 places:
Port vale 7
Bradford 0
Walsall 0
DRFC 7
Wimbledon 2
Notts C 0
Grimsby 2
Told ya that stats can be manipulated to serve a purpose....... :scarf:

Disagree with a lot of posts. Didn’t think we looked tired at all. Final ball and decision making cost us the game. Thought we were well worthy of 3pts however….. speaking of the final ball is killing us in a lot of games. Gibson in particular and every opportunity we have been handed in numerous recent games we have fallen short. I’m starting to resign myself to and season in league 2 next year.

The wingers being poor was emphasised by the change of shape. Moly and Gibson had very few options to recycle possession when they were on the ball in the final third. Ended up playing non existent passes or running into dead ends.
-
Moly coukd easily of had a hat trick last night and Gibson also had a few great chances
I thought it was a good performance and definitely a step up from Recent ones

Maybe he had a long drive ahead of him and was feeling a bit tired.
I would do the same under those circumstances.

There’s a big difference between pointing out a mistake by a player on a forum & persistently shouting at a player from the stand when he’s in a position to hear you telling him how crap he is…….fella.
-
Anderson was the only fit centre half and apart from the foul (which we should have defended better) he was probably our best player. Won pretty much everything in the air again. My man of the match!! Midfield was the problem today along with a lack of composure up front.
We had 2 chances to nip that attack in the bud, before it got to Tom's challenge, can't put all the blame on him.
Not to mention 11 men behind the ball and a soft free kick that should have been saved????
Very harsh on the keeper that. The free kick was a yard outside the 18yd line. The keeper couldn't see the ball until it passed the wall. He reacted but the ball was too well struck and he had virtually no chance to save it. The blame goes to those two on the end of the wall, what the hell were they doing stood legs apart and gaps between them and the wall. The shot was too close to get it up and over the wall so they needed to make a solid wall.
-
The scorer shouldn’t have been on the pitch after that out of control tackle on Molly

Patrick Kelly turned side on otherwise the ball would have hit him in the chest.
If you’re not going to ‘stand tall’ then don’t stand in a bloody ‘wall’!

Yes, and listening to McCanns post match interview when he talks about poor decision making in the final third, it's been a repeating theme all season. Disappointing that he's not been able to improve that area of play one way or another. He said way back he wanted to give the players freedom to make decisions but clearly he hasn't done enough to set the parameters for players to make those better decisions. That's where SO'D made a difference by questioning why players made certain decisions and exploring other options on the pitch, even when they made the right decisions to reinforce the good stuff. Every marginal improvement helps. Unfortunately, it's rather late in the day to change his methods of coaching for it to have much effect.

I was driving back to Hexham ha

There was a lot of energy about the first 20 minutes or so which Salford had difficulty in countering and although the passing had a degree of speculation about it, we were perhaps a bit unfortunate not to capitalise on it.
As for their goal, as Usher says, it was clear from just the one in-match replay that Kelly turned sideways, so he's going to regret that.
We tired as the match went on and cohesion got worse. Gibson, who i like more than most of you, had a poor first half and ought to have been subbed then. It was probably a time for McCann to be bold and he played very safe by not making changes till too late.
-

The keeper should have saved it. Very poor goalkeeping.
-
He’s 18 yards out and absolutely smashed it, keeper wouldn’t have even seen it until it was passed him.
No way that’s down to the keeper, it’s a poor wall that’s caused that
-

The keeper sets up the wall. It was his side so it’s his responsibility to set up the players in front of him and to save it. It wasn’t in the corner.
-
I agree with Gazlaz, better keeper says it. I'm still not sure TSL is of the level we need, yes he's improved but he doesn't keep us in games like other keepers do in this league.
Still a bit deflated about last night, we badly need wins. Feels like we're a 4th/5th placed side unfortunately, just not ruthless enough.

The wall was there but the wall turned their back!
The wall is only 15-16 yards away from the keeper he wouldn’t even of seen it until it was past him

Watch it Kelly turns sideward and the ball goes pat him arms down by his side and turns to his left which allowed the ball through

I agree. The season has that feeling about it doesn't it. Last night wasn't a terrible performance and result in isolation, but at this stage of the season it's the sort of game to test your mettle and we couldn't quite do it. You'd expect a promotion side to step it up a level but we didn't look like we had another level to step up to.
Feels like we end up in the play-offs now and that worries me.
-
Ignoring the wall, TSL fell down, he didn't even put a hand out and it wasn't even that fast of a shot. We always have to score 2 because TSL will concede any shot on target against him.
-
For me last night was a good point.
The problem is it just followed a bad point, as we really should have beaten Wimbledon.
The Swindon at home and Bromley away results are the ones i cannot stop thinking about.
-

Of course it was a fast shot
It flew past him!
-
Yeah I was stood behind the goal and didn’t think TSL had a chance
-
Our goal difference will be a major factor in the final table standings.
TSL is a major factor in its make up.
Our run of having good keepers has well and truly derailed.
-
One person blaming our goal difference on defending leads and another on the keeper.
GD won’t matter when we’ve more points than the rest, other than Walsall everyone’s GD is similar anyhow
-
Yeah I was stood behind the goal and didn’t think TSL had a chance
TSL at no point is to blame for that last night, a low driven free kick on the edge of the area that took a deflection.
But some will always look to blame him.
What i have noticed is he seems to have stopped coming for crosses as much, highlighted to tge end last night when the ball was floated across which bailey made a hash of clearing, was keepers all day.
Maybe had some confidence knocked out of him from somewhere
-

At the moment our similar GD is less then everyone else's who matter.
Matters a lot when your points are no better then your competitors.

Have you looked at the table, Wombles +8 over us, Walsall +6
-
Wimbledon are 3 points behind us
After the Bradford game I’d put money on their GD being worse than ours too
-
No way TSLs fault at all. Good freekick, hit hard and wall disintegrated but TSL couldn't have saved that.
What worried me is the lack of creativity, changed a bit whenCrew came on, he got it down and passed it. He HAS to play Friday. Every manand his dog knows that Sbarra, Clifton are not it in the umber 10 position, Crew who canand actually wants to play football has to be put in there for his creativity. Another game of knocking it aimlessly forward then reading on here that its all Gibson or Molyneuxs fault could push me over the edge.

It seems people want us and the players to fail. Surely, wouldn’t it be better for the fans to cheer the team on. Sing there hearts out. Not criticising every little thing wrong.
The players would pick up on the positivity rather than being negative. If someone continues to slate a person or people they will get down in spirits. Like us they are humans.
We all want the same end goal, let’s all strive to that with the positivity. On here and in the stadium.
Yes we all pay good money into the club, doesn’t mean players or staff should get dogs abuse.
-
Thought Crew looked lively when he got on last night and I would definitely start him on Friday, as much for his energy levels as his creativity.
As others have alluded to, it wasn't a bad point, I thought Salford were a decent side, 6 and 10- until he went off injured were both proper handfuls and Tilt at the back is a very strong defender.
We just lacked that final bit of quality. Gibson, Moly and Broadbent all had potentially good chances in the second half but failed to execute the correct pass or shot.
Overall, I thought we didn't do enough to win the game but it would have been great to sneak a late winner.
On to Friday

How many man of the match awards has TSL won this season? That’s usually the sign of a decent keeper.

Not getting MOM I think shows what the team have done in front of him. If he got so many MOM that would be an issue

9th place but then the description for him basically says he's crap.
-
All those blaming TSL need to watch the goal again, it was the two players in the wall who broke to leave a gap, who were solely to blame.

The keeper sets the wall
The 2 players discussed (Kelly/Senior) were not part of the wall. If they were in the way or obstructing view TSL should have told them to move, he needs to command his area better.
The goal went in on the side of the goal TSL was covering as he had set the wall up to cover the other side.
That said having re-watched clearly the deflection took it past him. He was moving to collect the ball and then tried to react to the deflection.

Walsall +21, Port Vale/Bradford +19, Rovers +15, Wimbledon +23, Notts County +19.
Everyone else is much closer to Walsall in terms of GD than we are to them!

What is it you think I have shouted that he has heard?

Lowest expected goals against in the league.

I think last nights point is a point gained after watching the on Friday evening,
Every team around us are in the same position with pressure mounting, we have just got to go for it, last night sounds like we did and got a reward, not all the teams around us will play well every game, Walsall losing that big lead especially could blow it big time.
It's not over until it's over.
-

Would they shout the same way if they went to a show in a theatre?

No it’s not. It’s the sign of a shite team who can’t defend so the keeper has to make save after save after save……then gets man of the match for keeping the goals conceded down to two instead of eight.
That’s not Rovers.
-
Harsh on keeper from 18 yard out not seeing the ball till it’s past the players and hit with a lot of power and also takes a deflection which doesn’t slow it down either
-
I despair with some comments on this forum and when I attended games.
If there was just positivity at the grounds, encouragement when things don’t work out. This will pass onto the players, thinking I might try that again as I didn’t get abuse.
Giving lots of abuse, means players could be scared to try it again.
The players are humans like us. Derogatory comments effects everyone in life and there confidence.
How about it? Positivity !!

English disease. I don't live in the BBC Sheffield area so watched Villa v PSG. Loudest Villa fans were all night was "you're not fit to referee". Loudest you should be is songs in support. Said the same about Everton away. Support = singing in support of your team

There was a lot of encouragement at Salford and also at the end of the match aswell when few of the players were disappointed, although think sumone shouted Sumthing to sterry at the end for him to reply with sumthing back

The fans were really positive at the end of the Salford game I thought. The atmosphere was generally pretty flat but often is in these nervy games.
