Would love to know Grant's take on this, senior player, contract extension, & not getting game time, in a constantly changing, underperforming midfield. Very odd.

Clearly a waste of (not sure) £75k-£100k this year???

He seemed to be well in until his misus had baby then totally out the picture......hope the family is OK.

McCann has his favourites in midfield, he's managed the midfield piss poor all season. Our two best footballers in midfield are Crew and Westbrooke yet they get no game time. No wonder we've played about 15mins decent football in there all season.
I would drive Broadbent to his next club tomorrow I don't know how he's got an extension.

Or indeed why he was worth paying a transfer fee for,  maybe Broadbent along with Close and Westbrooke and a few others are going to be better players in League 1.  After all McCann said at the last Meet The Owners that "no player had been frozen out" so it's all part of the plan

Really don’t get this hate for Broadbent he’s been good this season in a new role

Fully agree - developed enormously and for me player of 2nd half of season thus far

I agree with this - however we are light in midfield and when we take Bailey out of the middle there is an enormous void. There seemed a lack of energy in there last night and a better team would have exposed it.

On paper Salford have the best team in the league, and but for a mad 8 or 9 games a couple of months ago they’d be right up there.

Agree, Paul Keegan used to get the same, just because he was no flashy player, someone has to do the dirty work

McCann did say last season he wished he could have a team of Owen Baileys.  Strange then that he gave contract extensions to and made signings of players that were anything but

Probably because funnily enough there aren’t another dozen Owen baileys

For what it’s worth, I’ve never rated Westbrooke.

Owen was starting to concern me with his backward & sideways passing against Wimbledon, but that ball he played to Rob Street last night for our goal was top drawer.
