In quite a long time I am really excited about Mondays game Colchester aren't going to be a pushover by any stretch
-
Same here! Although I haven't felt confident that we will win a game all season.
Being in second spot, though, I suspect football supporters in general are rather far too critical of their own team.

I can’t get over how nervous I am before every game this season.
I’m just so wound up because it seems every game is a nail-biter.
I was so wound up getting ready for the trip to Tranmere on Friday.
I honestly questioned whether I was in a fit state to drive the car.
Thank heavens for the soothing voice I have for my SatNav. She calmed me down a lot.
But then when I “arrived at my destination” in Tranmere, the nerves kicked in again.
For a split second, I considered turning the car around and driving home!
But I took a deep breath and powered on.
When the 3rd goal went in, I said to myself “OK Pancho, we’ve won this, you can sit back and enjoy the rest of the game”.
Two minutes later I realised my toes were curled up and I was biting my nails again.
I’m not sure I can stand these last 3 games.

Jesus, Pancho, I bet you were a wreck at Wembley

Need to calm down pal, probably isn’t good for your health getting in that state over a football match. Not worth getting too wound up about at the end of the day

I don’t get nervous anymore, just more of hope more than anything.
This season has been a bit weird as it seems that whenever we play someone they have had a recent great result, or have turned a corner and in decent form so that initial “oh we should win that” becomes well I hope we win that especially with how we have played in some games this season.

Agreed, and whilst analysis of player performance and criticism is perfectly fine, we do perhaps delve too deeply into our own.
The table doesn’t lie. We might not be playing free flowing high scoring dominant football, but we’re second on merit.

He wouldn't have been the only wreck at Wembley! I nearly stayed in the concourse that day. I almost couldn't face it!
Initially, I refused to pay the price they were charging for a pint of beer, but I ended up having two to calm my nerves.
PS. A pint's dearer at home games these days!
-
I am about the same as Pancho on this one but the difference in my case is that that woman in my sat nav just winds me up even more. I can't remember a season ever where every game was quite so stressful.

There were about 50,000 wrecks at Wembley at the end of the game..

Agreed IDM, I was mentally drained after that game, walking back to the station along Wembley Way, I was just numb, this knob 'ead Leeds fan came up behind me, got into my face and growled "Cheer up you miserable f****r you've just won promotion". I honestly just couldn't take it in for a while. Exhausting!
-
I was a bit like that as well. There were some Leeds fans coming the other way looking sick as you would expect but one did say “Well played”.
-
I’m excited and that spells danger imo. We normally struggle to turn up when there’s a big game so let’s hope the players deal with the pressure. Hope we’re in for another Barrow game

Almost exactly what I met with on way back to Car at Stanmore Tube Station. Me and mate were yomping back to Car and (we had not discussed this) must have looked subdued. In my case it was an attempt to not rile the Leeds fans or put another way , self preservation
A minibus came from a side street to our right and a gorilla leant out of Passenger window and bellowed , Oi Rovers fans ( a perceptive Gorilla as we had no Colours) cheer up you f*****s , youve just been promoted.
i think I managed oh yeah cheers in reply

I would like to meet the chap who had the b@lls to sing “marching home together” and “we can’t sell our tickets” on our way back down Wembley Way. Have loads of time for that.
