In the euphoria of yesterday it nearly passed by that Rob has joined a select group of loan players to have scored 10 goals in a season for us. The others are:
2018-19: Mallik Wilks: 16 of which 14 in the league)
2009-10: Billy Sharp: 15 (all in the league)
2020-21: Taylor Richards 11 (10 in the league)
2003-04: Chris Brown 10 (all in the league)
Jonathan Forte scored 13 goals on loan for us but over two seasons :scarf:

Whatever happened to Taylor Richards?
He looked a worldbeater with us. He's managed about 40 minutes football this season, on loan at Cambridge

Maybe three of them with us next season?

McCann has confirmed he won’t be coming back next season on a permanent.
-
That sounds quite specific - doesn’t rule out another loan spell.?

He did say if it was to happen it'd probably be a loan.

Series of injuries. Joined on loan and got injured straight away. Recovered by Christmas and played those minutes and then injured again and not been in a squad since early January.

Lincoln paid a decent fee for him and have him tied up for 3 years, is the long and short of it.

Director of football Jez George added: “We have tracked Rob for two years. We retained our interest in Rob despite a tough time for him last season and we were able to get this deal done because of those circumstances.
“Rob’s goal stats belie his qualities, and we are more interested in his underlying metrics and data which fit our profile for this position. Rob has a unique combination of attributes which makes him a really exciting prospect.
“This is our type of ‘under the radar’ signing and the length of contract demonstrates our belief in Rob. He knows all about League One, he is ready to contribute immediately and he has the elite mentality required to maximise his undoubted potential.

It would be interesting to know if Gaz & his data driven mob identified him a couple of years ago - one could also back calculate the old stats to see what "stat" or "stats" stood out
In my world Crystal Palace is a great place to get young loanees or released youngsters from . Bradford had a left winger on loan on Saturday - I think he was on loan earlier in the season at a Division one club - but not getting game time
Abbott of Tottenham on loan at Notts County would be a good shout if they don't make it.
-
He might want away to join Rovers?
