Title: The players last night
Post by: StocksArmy on April 27, 2025, 01:19:58 pm
As supporters we got to see our players be human beings instead of footballers. Made an effort to have a brief word with all of them and thank them for what they have done. It was enjoyable watching them let some steam off. If they read this forum I hope they enjoyed the night.

It would be great if the players could complie a video to document their own experience of the day from start to finish.

Special mentions to Ironside, Wood and Maxwell who were an absolute pleasure to talk with in the Sal yesterday. Intelligent, thoughtful, modest, open about their situations. Absolute credits to the club and the profession.

Am sure they appreciated hearing about Paul Heffernan.

Without revealing anything sensitive, what did Woody say BST?

In the Sal last night I was struck by the fact that they're very young kids! The flack they get and running onto a pitch with thousands watching your every move is quite staggering really. OK Woody and Bill might be old hands but they're just fragile nippers most of em. They were just fantastic.

Photos on social media have shown a group of them are back on it today. Fair play to them, although can't imagine training tomorrow will be fun.
