Disgraceful. They have no credibility after this sham.

They obviously still have to be scored but 8 pens definitely helps the winner. Don't even think he touched it in the game against us. Molyneux is different level to him.

Just an award though.

Cheek from Bromley won it. Imagine the thought process of most of the voters was "oh, he's top scorer, give it to him, it's league 2 anyway who gives a f**k."

The young player of the year was Nathan Lowe who only played half a season, says it all about the credibility of the judging to be honest.

16 goals - 12 assists for Mols
23 goals - 7 assists for Cheek

It’s called the player of the year not who’s scored the most goals.
Cheek isn’t in the same stratosphere as molyneux when it comes to ability

16 goals - 12 assists - 1 promotion for Mols
23 goals - 7 assists - 0 promotions for Cheek

The promotion has to secure it.

Have to remember we've only seen Cheek twice this season the other 43 games he could have been different gravy. I still doubt he's better than Luke but just gives Luke more fire to nab a bigger and better prize on Saturday!

Your first point is fair but your second is irrelevant - ability has nothing to do with these awards, it’s related to performance over the course of the year. That said I doubt that he’s been performing at the levels Moly has week in, week out this year.

They’d likely have been fighting relegation without his goals this year so maybe that’s the argument, although you could equally apply that to us as we’d have been a lot worse off without Moly.

I always find manager of the year interesting. For me it should be the one that overachieves relative to expectation the most, although you have to take into account success. Is that really Graeme Alexander? It’s probably Andy Woodman for me given they were mathematically in with a shout of playoffs until last week. Other than that surely McCann or, if they win it, Moore (which highlights how silly it is to have the awards before the season’s out).

Agreed. I haven't a problem with Cheek or Woodman being genuine contenders as their achievement is a big one.

The Walsall nominations though highlight they need to review the selection timing. I don't think Walsall or Bradford fans would agree with the results either.

That's probably why Grant didn't win it last year!

So, it might benefit us if the Poachers from the bigger clubs have less awareness of Moly, he doesn’t need the award, he has our accolades.
