According to free press council are gonna plan a civic reception along with open top bus parade. Date yet to be organised
-
Would have thought bank holiday Monday
-
Only good if we win the league imo. A little embarrassing celebrating 2nd place
-
Nothing wrong with celebrating promotion, be it champions or runners up
-
There is nothing wrong about celebrating promotion - just ask the players!
-

Would be better sunday?
Would give the pubs a better trade with people being off the monday
-

Leeds is already organised and booked in!
-

Fair enough open top if we win it but maybe just stadium celebrations if we’re runners up?
-
Arranging party's before the last game of the season? What's all that about... wait a minute election time.
Reform will get in
-
Be a bit weird if we don't win the league like.
-
Why?
Leeds have there’s happening and they haven’t won the league yet
-
I think the open top should be after a league or cup win only, we have just about all celebrated the promotion ( AND BOY DID WE AND THE TEAM CELEBRATE :scarf: and rightly so, it was a great achievement)
If we do not achieve the league title I imagine it to be slightly flat for both fans and the team.
-
Shouldn't be a bus if we don't win the league.
-
Shouldn't be a bus if we don't win the league.
Maybe down-grade to bicycles?
-
Ross Jones on X
Not only promoted but champions of the fourth tier for their fourth time in their history.
84 points and their first league title since 2013.
Civic reception and open top bus tour will be extra special, watch this space for detalls, but it will be in June / July as a lot of players will be on holiday in May.

June or July? f**k that, it needs to be within a week or so whilst we're still riding high.
-
Get the bus booked.
-
If it’s June / July then they should scrap it. Ought to be tomorrow or next weekend at the latest.
The players, management and owners have done a remarkable job this season to deliver a promotion / title that we’ve never been out of contention for since the opening day. Players won’t have had holidays pre-booked in the next week as the play offs was also a live possibility until last Saturday.
Planning (not the responsibility of the football club) should’ve been ongoing in the background for some time, as it has been in Leeds. These events are all about capitalising on momentum. In June / July supporters will be on holiday and players will be in pre-season mode. It’s not appropriate to have an open top bus parade so long after the event.
It’s a shame if this achievement can’t be celebrated with an organised event in the way it deserves to be. But the fans, players and football club have had a great last week celebrating and those memories can never be taken away. Well done to all at the football club and if nothing is organised quickly then holidays are richly deserved and we move on to next season.
-
On a side note I have just watched the EFL highlights show Rovers after match, champions cup presentation got a full 6 seconds coverage watching the Bradford coverage one would have thought they were the champions
-
Planning for the trophy parade is the responsibility of the club, that should be inside the stadium as happened in 2013 after winning at Brentford.
Dear God, please don't tell me Ros Jones has decided the date.
-
June July is stupid, the loan players will have gone back and most probably be involved in pre season preparations with their parent club
-
Agree needs to be ASAP not June/July
-
“a lot of players will be on holiday in May”
Labour talking sh*te again. These same players would have a blank calendar due to potential playoff dates. The club either need to sort something out or not bother, June/July is far too late.
-
The one in 2013 at the ground was because it wasn't allowed at Brentford that day.
Joke if it's June
-
It would be good to combine it with a in -stadium event of some sort to also celebrate other aspects of Club Donny this year,
-
The one in 2013 at the ground was because it wasn't allowed at Brentford that day.
You mean the one that took place to allow over 5,000 inside the stadium that was arranged at very short notice, we hadn't won the league until the last minute so it's been done before, sounds to me like it's already been accepted as happening at a much later inappropriate date, maybe that's why T.Bramall had hold of the trophy soon as possible
It cannot be a politican led event

I doubt very much this is the doing of the Mayor. It will be in her interests to be as closely associated with success as possible, and having this sooner rather than later will deliver that. I suspect it was more likely that it all came together very late and people had plans already. It is not as if we were nailed on for promotion since March.
-
Probably an open top bus in the midlands that was booked at Christmas and no longer needed going spare
-
Seems certain it will be the mayor suggesting this date, l can’t imagine it will be anything from the club.
As many have said many of the players will not be with us in June /July
Can you imagine Chelsea will allow TSL to fly back from a summer tour somewhere in the world so he can visit Ros Jones.
-
Let’s just have the parade without civic visit
-
Heard all the players are going away to celebrare together this week so that could be a big reason why.

Do you mean they are going on a pub crawl in another city, because they are banned from all the Donny pubs.
Some great pictures of the appearing with the fan round town again last night, think a few will have thick heads this morning, including Grant.
Great guys to celebrate so much with their fans.

A civic reception is a local political event isn’t it
-
How will players that have or will be told that they won’t feature next season will feel about going? What about the loan players? They might not be available either.

a labour party member going against the wishes of the general public? Who would have thought it?

Seems any celebratory trophy parade is delayed to an inappropriate time due to tomorrow being inconvenient for the politician.
V.E day tomorrow, other events already committed to by the elected Mayor.
Did you miss my word referring to politician LED?

Have I missed something? Where's it been said it was supposed to be tomorrow?

Only me and a lot of others saying that would be better than delaying until a more inappropriate time

So it wasn't supposed to be tomorrow then.
-
This is really simple:
Do it soon or don’t bother, and keep politics out of it.
-
Who'd believe we've managed to create a negative out of what should be very much a positive!
-
If not done within 2 weeks of the end of season then just leave it and let’s concentrate on getting the players and staff some much needed rest and relaxation ready for a another exciting season once again in league one
-
The players will have planned their summer holidays I guess and will be taken into account .
-
How about the players all go to Donny fest, go on stage and celebrate there.
Give Rovers fans discounted tickets.
f**k the council
-
Players must have all booked their holidays last Sunday. No chance they've booked holidays for May knowing we could have been in the playoffs

I'm not, ros jones is

The elected Mayor is already committed to V.E. events taking place tomorrow afternoon in the market place, no doubt followed by a meeting at Mansion House.
Club could've opened the stadium for a trophy parade celebration as in 2013 though.
-
Bradford are having theirs on Tuesday. If it's not next weekend or earlier there's no point in the bus.
-
taken from the TV
-
Do it Tuesday or Wednesday.
-
June or July is a dreadful suggestion.
It would be embarrassing for everyone ffs
-
Let’s remember the fallen and the ones that made our lives it is today.
I’m an ex serviceman that appreciates what the ones did before. Let’s celebrate VE 80th anniversary first and for most.
When the trophy celebration is, let’s celebrate that too
-

At least they’re doing something, sadly I won’t be there as I don’t finish work until 6pm
-
It's a good shout from the club, reckon half past would be better though with most finishing work at 5 then having to travel there.
-
Shit for anyone in day time employment
-
Bradford City have open top bus parade tomorrow although that starts at 7pm but it is on working day. Maybe they could adjust the time say an hour later to assist supports who are working

That's what longer daylight is for, enables a bit more time for those with children to sort out too

Can you park in the main car park without getting a fine?
-
Won't get out of work in time to attend :/

Same, but fortunately family taking my little lad who didn't make it at the weekend so all is good.
Pros and cons either way, too late it's naff for kids, too early naff for those working.
-
Can the club livestream this, on YouTube, so everyone can watch? I won't be able to get, as I live an hour away.
-
Club have confirmed you can park in car park 1 2 or 3 for free and do not have to enter details on your parking space. Disabled parking will be inner ring.
