Not in the marital sense of course…
And apart from Streety.
Abbott for Notts County looked a very good player…
-
Those two little f**kers from Harrogate.
-
Jacob hazel boston united. Striker.

His dad (James) is a very good friend of mine. George has got a big future ahead of him.
Will be interesting to see if Grant can cherry pick some of the other league 2 talent. Adelakun at Salford looks decent.
-
Before the game today I thought that Jatta might be a decent replacement for Street.
After the game I have changed my mind as he didn’t get a look in from our two CBs.
-
He didn't look massively mobile either.
-

He still scored though!
I also like Jatta from what I've seen of him this season, not just because he scored in both games.
-
Jacob hazel boston united. Striker.
At 31 years old and playing in the national league not a chance. Watched Boston numerous times this season and hazel has never been the stand out player. Big lad holds it up well but never going to play in the football league. Can't even see him still being at Boston next season with them going full time they'll be after a lot stronger than him
-
Niall Ennis. Out of contract. Knows where the net is in League one.
-

He did but on the highlights i am sure he is in an offside position when the ball is played to him.
Perhaps the linesperson didn’t think he got a touch.

Hard to say really. Maybe Nixon plays him on but I'm not going to get the set square and protractor out for this one!
Suspect after the season he's had he'd cost a decent fee anyway.
-
That young Spanish kid - Lamine someone?
-
Colchester had some lively layers, including 5he lad that got sent off - he gave Sterry a torrid time .
-
That Salford centre mid, Fornah was it?
-
Not in the marital sense of course…

Abbott for Notts County looked a very good player…
He’s a real high class player. On loan from spurs.
-
Jamie Vardy please, he'd love it here :-)
-
A couple, Graydon from Fleetwood and Mbappe. OK, one of them is probably out of our price range but next season we have to think big. Name of the game next season is consolidation so why not go for Mallik Wilks and /or the boy Kieran Green (as Mickey Walker would say) from Grimsby. Decent prospect. We are a very attractive proposition right now. Exciting times, let's see what the summer brings. Can't see Luton, Cardiff or Plymouth causing any problems! Bring it on! :rtid:
-
We already have the best 2 players in League 1
Sterry and Molyneux.
Oh and by the way Bailey and Broadband are are rather decent too…,
Oh and there’s that Sharp lad.
If TSL, Crew and Street fancy another then we’re looking cool, take inspiration from Leyton Orient….,
-

Superbly weighted ball over the defenders head to put Street in for the 2nd from Sterry
-
Street. Can't see it when the fee alone would sign a handful of decent league 1 players on a free
-
I’ve seen a couple this year:
I quite like the look of Declan Rice as an engine for us
I know Virgil Van Dijk is getting on, but he could do a job in league 1
A cheeky bid for Mo Salah might prove fruitful
And finally a keeper, I’d say let’s take a punt on Alison
There you go Mr Bramall, start with these and super Grant can try and squeeze them into our squad somewhere

A couple of those have big egos and would want to be the star players in the team so there is no way they would come to us.

Nathan Lowe
-
Tyrese Fornah out of contract from Derby, played on loan at Salford. Big and athletic midfielder he could be just what we need to upgrade our team.
-
In terms of League 2 players, I liked the look of Fornah and Nmai (both Salford) as well as Svanporsson (Grimsby).
I think we need to be looking higher for a few though, particularly for a bit of experience.
-
TLT or Bromley keeper
-
I thought notts countys no 10 looked a player yesterday.
Jones??
-
I liked Archer from Cheltenham when we played them at home
-
Sam Stubbs (Cheltenham/Bradford) or Shepherd (Bradford/Barnsley).
-
I thought notts countys no 10 looked a player yesterday.
Jones??
yes he looked really useful and dangerous every time he got the ball
-
Cole palmer. What a player. Reminds me of a rubbish copps
-
Ossama Ashley would be the smart choice over Fornah. Spurs may want to test Abbott at League 1 level, he looked class for County.
-
Agree with Svanporsson from Grimsby. Already a good player and would improve in this team and under Mccann. Joe Lewis from AFC Wimbledon if they don't come up. Both realistic and both would add good competition for places. Not seen much of him recently but likewise back in for Will Grigg to supplement what we have up top if Chesterfield miss promotion through playoffs? I know plenty will probably say no, but I wouldn't be against getting Marquis back. Matty Craig back? Completely left field pick Erhan Oztumer currently playing in Northern Cyprus. + we need a keeper. No Idea who. Would Love TSL to be back with us or TLT but can't see it being either.
-
Some wild choices there. Oztumer is 33 and playing in the national league for a country that doesn't exist.
-
The “Turkish Pele” must be getting on a bit now.?
-
As Chris said 33. I did say he was my left field pick or wild choice I agree. Not sure the others are that wild though.
-
Cole palmer. What a player. Reminds me of a rubbish copps
needs to sort his hairstyle out though. Looks like Plug.
-
Will Grigg is on a lot of money for League Two, also he’s not fit to lace Billy Sharp’s boots
-
Ossama Ashley would be the smart choice over Fornah. Spurs may want to test Abbott at League 1 level, he looked class for County.
He’s out of contract this summer, which is a positive, but is he a defensive midfielder? Still like the Fornah option, as he’s also out of contract and is a bit taller.
-
Adelekun on a free if he hasn’t burned bridges with McCann
-
Goalkeepers. Definitely need 1 possibly two depending on Lawlor contract.
TSL - from reports seems unlikely.
TLT - think this is possible now Hull have stayed up.
Grant Smith - Bromley keeper, played really well against us both times, recent new contract so unlikely.
Defenders. Personally think we need atleast 1 CB. We must focus on Olowu contract, I'd renew Tom and for me convert Bailey to CB, he could be as good as the fella below.
Demetraiou - class player, thought he was on a free but renewed deal recently so unlikely.
Midfield - need to move some on in this dept IMO. Maybe Zain W comes back into the fold? GM said he wanted Close for L1 which I'm not sure on.
J.McDonnell - 21yr old Northern Irish Notts F was on loan to Colchester this yr. Probably suit Notts F for a loan higher up, NI link with GM.
Charlie Crew - this lad will be quality, I'd like us to try for him again. A step up the league so may suit Leeds and Charlie too.
Fornah - stood out a mile every time I watched Salford. On a free from Derby, may fancy L1 and if his family are Derby it's commutable. Wages may be an issue.
Malik Wilks - available on a free, wages?
Adelakun - I would have him back, whether GM would is questionable.
N'Mai - looked a real handful and links up well with haks so should be able to do the same with the likes of Molly/Gibbo.
Upfront - hard to call. I think we will end up with an unknown on loan here because once the ball starts hitting the net value raises exponentially. Personally I I would renew Billy he will do a job at any level and get us 10goals from the bench but also his experience in the dressing room. Maybe Joe will move on, I'm not sure in that either considering the squad and budget etc forwards always carry a premium. Cant see anyone bidding for him so expect he will stay.
Street - highly unlikely but been a great player for us, will have no issues at L1. Doubt Lincoln would want to sell to a competitor, but business is business. He could be our only 'purchase' of the summer.
Nathan Lowe? - Mark Robins recent interview saying the lad did what he had to but not ready for championship??? Clearly had an eye for goal at L2 level.
Sure GM and the team have a totally different list!!!
-
Kyle McAdam and Adam Berry Notts forest a left back and a mid fielder.
-
According to Barrow fans we are linked with Robbie Gotts
I'd probably look at Gabe Breeze at Carlisle aswell
-
GK - Paul Farman the Barrow keeper has been released, he’s a bit of nutcase but could come as a back up keeper behind an on loan Premiership keeper
-
Demetraiou.
-
According to Barrow fans we are linked with Robbie Gotts
I'd probably look at Gabe Breeze at Carlisle aswell
Second time round if true about Gotts.
-
Kabongo Tshimanga just been released from Posh.
-
Dale Taylor spent the season on loan at Wigan. Would be an incredible loan signing can't see him getting near the forest first team
-
I would have said Barry Bannan but hes on 24k a week so that's a no.
-
Would malik resign with Grant incharge that would be a very good signing and only 25 would offer power and pace
-
Would malik resign with Grant incharge that would be a very good signing and only 25 would offer power and pace
Damaged goods now he's played with that lot lol
-
Would malik resign with Grant incharge that would be a very good signing and only 25 would offer power and pace
Think it would be a good move for him too, 3 year deal and at 26 years old might get 1 more big move.
-
Crowley at MK Dons….no one could get anywhere near him.
-
Crowley at MK Dons….no one could get anywhere near him.
Yeah, agree with that
-
Crowley would want some looking after, he is as bad an influence off the field as he is a good one on it.
-
Crowley at MK Dons….no one could get anywhere near him.
Yet since he signed for them in January MK were one of the worst teams in the division and we beat them comfortably?

Demetraiou.
He’s 35! No thanks.

But he never seems to settle anywhere. McCanns had him twice now hasn't he, us and Hull? He definitely has the explosive game still but again, I wonder if it's more about the me then the we? Twice bitten, three times shy?
-
Crowley would want some looking after, he is as bad an influence off the field as he is a good one on it.
He’s definitely bad news , he’s the big I am, you don’t play for that many clubs before you’re 30 and not have serious issues
-
Mallik wouldn’t be on my list, I’m afraid. We have an excellent dressing room and I’m not sure that would be improved by Wilks joining! Much rather we try to get Street back?
-
McCann loves Wilks and Wilks played his best football under McCann
He’ll definitely be on his list
-
According to Barrow fans we are linked with Robbie Gotts
I'd probably look at Gabe Breeze at Carlisle aswell
Breeze has had a good season but could be a one off. Don't think I'd risk him making the jump up as a League 1 number one.
-
Scunny have a forward Carlton Ubaezuonu who seems to have hit form. I’ll be honest don’t know anything about him age etc
-
Hit form in National League North. 27 and hasn’t played a minute of league football. I know Vardy was a late bloomer but expecting this lad to make it in League One is asking a bit much.
-
Cheers CBCB just noticed the plaudits he was getting
-
Lucy Bronze?
-
I seem to remember Dean Cornelius having a few very good games against us.
Released from Harrogate, question to those with more knowledge on players than me, would he be a good fit?
-

I was surprised they released him tbh. Always steady away. Reckon he'll get another League 2 team or a move back to Scotland, don't think he'd make the jump up just yet
-
I seem to remember Dean Cornelius having a few very good games against us.
Released from Harrogate, question to those with knowledge on platers than me, would he be a good fit?
I remember when Town beat us on the opening day of the 23/24 season Cornelius, on his debut, was the best player on the pitch. The general consensus locally is one of surprise that they've released him as he was a regular starter and one of their most consistent performers, albeit they where a poor team. Only 24 though, and wont have been on massive wages there....
-
Taylor Richards had been on loan at Cambridge! Now he’d be some loan signing, if Grant could get a tune out of him.
-

I made this point at the top of this thread. There were two of the little bas**rds who always cause us problems. He was one. There was another one also. Could do worse.

The 2 I remember causing us problems in that game were Abraham Odoh & Sam Folarin. Slightly diverging career paths since then - Odoh’s in League One with Peterborough and Folarin in the NL with Hartlepool.
-
Toby Sims also left Harrogate. Always looked a decent player every time he played us.
-

Best defender at right back in the league.
-
Sims is going to play abroad according to my Harrogate mate.
-
Toby Sims was one of the best men at a mates wedding a couple of years ago, and told me he told me that he’s going back to America to play in their 2nd tier, Pittsburg Riverbacks
-

Makes sense has he has played in the US previously.

Armando Dobra At Chesterfield scores goals for fun !!

Jacob Jellis at Walsall
-
Jacob Jellis at Walsall
Rather have Taylor Allen
-
Jacob Jellis at Walsall
Rather have Taylor Allen
Taylor Allen is a specialist in a back 3 isn’t he? Not sure he could do what he does best in a back 4.
I’d rather have Jellis of all the Walsall men.
-
Thought he looked quality (Allen) in yesterday's play off & the Walsall fans really rate him.
-
Allen was amazing.
-
Cheikh Diabate 23 year old centre back released by Exeter would be a decent signing.
Ricky Jade Jones, winger/striker, 22 years old leaving at end of contract Peterborough .
Kwame Poku, 23 years old, winger, leaving at end of contract Peterborough.
Aden Flint, 35 centre back, released by Mansfield. Goal scoring defender, we could do with one who is a danger on set pieces and a bit of presence at the back.
-
I remember Bramall at Rotherham was well thought of from what I heard -and him getting transferred recently -
Rotherham signed him for a fee then sold him to Portsmouth in Jan 2005 - now he's been released - so he's a free agent he' san X-Arsenal youngster for what it's worth and has .
he's 29 but only 5 ft 9 in - not the usual Rotherham giant "mode"
-
Markandy from Blackburn, on loan at Chesterfield until Jan then loaned to Orient (didn’t get off the bench the other night) Chesterfield fans still rave about him and feel him leaving contributed in them not challenging for the auto places.
-
In terms of League 2 players, I liked the look of Fornah and Nmai (both Salford) as well as Svanporsson (Grimsby).
I think we need to be looking higher for a few though, particularly for a bit of experience.
Svanthorson could play at league 1 I think , I'm not sure if anyone would meet his valuation though as he has a year or 2 left on his contract ; imagine he will play higher than league 2 though - the Faro lad we signed in January will be very good aswell I imagine and we are in for another this summer . The analytics doing good
I imagine the only player playing in league 1 from us next season is Hume who is out of contract and good as an attacking wing back back but can't play in a back 4 so will be interesting what sort of team go in for him .
Interested in how our Harry get's on in league 1 aswell , I doubted he had the technical capability to play in league 1 or higher will he be a starter for you there?
-
Just a slight point, if a club signs players from countries like the Faro Islands, Caribbean Islands, or the smaller European countries Luxembourg, Malta,Estonia etc expect a lot of postponements due to international call ups
-

To be fair to Clifton the role he plays in for us we don't need him on the ball too much, it's more about affecting the game out of possession.

Hope he does well great lad great attitude great move for him . How about that Sbarra has he done well ? Always looked a great player for Solihull in NL
-
Not as much of an impact as Clifton, considering he came as an attacking midfield player. Clifton has the happy knack of appearing at just the right time, in and around the box. To be honest Grant has really upped the ante with the signing of Robbie Gotts. Both Clifton and S’Barra are going to have their work cut out just getting in the squad!
We’re still missing that defensive ‘mester’ in my opinion, but I don’t think the manager has finished with the midfield, yet! Maybe Crew could return, who knows.
-
Fornah released from Derby. Would love him
-
Fornah released from Derby. Would love him
We’d be daft not to make early enquiries, imho. Too good to pass up, surely?
-
Tomkinson released by Norwich could be a good Olowu replacement.
Looked strong and quick for Bradford on loan last season in the game against us.
-
All exciting stuff innit now we’re in a division higher!
-
I wonder if Grant knows that one of Enzo Maresca’s coaching team at Chelsea is a Donny lad? Have a word Grant and get TSL back for another season.

As i said earlier we could still be in with a chance of that getting that Palace goalie on loan at Wimbledon if they don't go up.
Remember don't ask - don't get
SOD got Defoe to go to 4th Division Bournemouth on loan - as I have told you all hundreds of times.

Linked to Huddersfield.
Heard a few suggest him, but I think he’d be out of reach for us.

Signed for Northampton.

Be nice to get Aljofree and Crew in on loans.

Stubbs gone to Shrewsbury Town in League Two, to play alongside Big Tom.

Great signing for them. Could play L1 easily. Better than any centre half we have signed.
-
He could well be a hidden gem although his career has gone consistently backwards and is now on a permanent deal in League Two.

Was one of the best 3 or 4 centre halves in L2 last season. We raved about Olowu who rated top 25% of CH in L2. Stubbs was much better.

Alex Bass the Notts County keeper
Signed for Peterborough for a fee
-
They’ve paid over £300k for him. That’s a decent fee at League One level.
-
Kabongo Tshimanga just been released from Posh.
Signed for Crawley Town in League Two. Probably not where many would have seen him end up, a few years ago. League football at least.
-
Aaron Collins to MK Dons is the biggest signing in division 2 by a big margin. It blows all the others out of the water
-

Certainly is Usher and AC isn’t the only one they’ve invested in to try to achieve promotion. They must be paying big wages too because Colins was on big money at Bolton. He could be a great signing for them but since he doesn’t tackle or head the ball and goes missing when things get tough, there aren’t too many at Bolton who’ll miss him.
-
Joe Lewis at AFC Wimbledon, absolute colossus at the back, something we have lacked since Rob Jones.
-
Another windfall for Peterborough, offloading Mothersille to Stockport for nearly a million quid. They have a phenomenal ability to monetise their talent and especially striking talent.
-
Not in the marital sense of course…

Abbott for Notts County looked a very good player…
George Abbott signed for Wycombe on loan for the season
-
Now we have Charlie back, I am satisfied that GM has the full hand of cards to deal with, we do not need to covet any of our opponents players, they need to be envious of ours!

Colchester have signed a lad called Ben Perry from Nottingham Forest, he could become a very good player, the Cowleys know the game and when the dust settles and things settle down I would not be surprised if Colchester were not in the mix in division 2
-
Bet they won’t leave that lad alone in the clubhouse with a box of matches!

Dens son out for revenge.

Dale Taylor spent the season on loan at Wigan. Would be an incredible loan signing can't see him getting near the forest first team
Signed for Blackpool permanently. Rumoured to be a fee in excess of £1m. This isn’t the league one of McCann’s previous spell is it?

Fornah released from Derby. Would love him
Brilliant today for Northampton.
I really worry we’ve underestimated this league with our recruitment. Midfield is shocking.

I think he’s a player that always catches the eye but I think he’s a bit positionless. Doesn’t offer enough in centre mid as he’s defensively poor. Not really a wide player.
