Title: Medals
Post by: roversdude on May 16, 2025, 03:48:23 pm
Do the club nominate who gets a medal for being Champions or is it dictated by appearances - just wondering if Yeboah got one

Think it’s based on appearances (or times on the bench), but presume they get a certain number and decide which staff get them and that means less for the players?

Lawlor got one despite not playing a minute but Close didn’t get one with 3+4 apps. Presume Fleming got one with 12+5 apps, but doubtful for Emmanuel (3+2) unless he racked up a few games on the bench. Yeboah played 1+10 times, but again I don’t know how the bench figures.

Actually Westbrook’s did get one despite only 2 starts and 4 sub appearances! (One less start than Close). Maybe being on the pitch on the day helped :D

Not sure if it’s the same as the PL but for that they get a number of medals to give out at their discretion to squad members that they think are worthy of a medal. I’m guessing we have something similar if Lawlor got one.

Think you get something like 20-25 but if you want more you can pay for the other players , normally it's 5 or 10 ten games needed to be played

I checked it out before the last game of the season. I think the FL will provide medals for those players who play a certain percentage of league games but the club are free to elect to pay for medals over and above that.

It's 12 games either on pitch or subs bench. If a player got one for less they were lucky.

Makes you wonder if Crew got one for his 1 Leeds appearance too!

He actually looked embarrassed receiving his medal (with that miss one on one at the end he should do too!), at the end of the game.

I think Donny Dog broke more sweat than him during the course of the season.

That miss one on one should have been a pass to Ennis for a tap in

when Liverpool were playing very recently they said you needed 5  appearances and some foreigner (they are all foreigners at Liverpool) that might was on the bench had 4 - not sure what an appearance is defined as in the "Money League"

Westbrook should have buried it.
