Had an offer accepted for a center back from a Premier League team. I assume on loan?
Having talks with another club for a wide forward.

All sounds very promising. I'm just wondering if there's any centre backs on u21 duty at the mo who could fit the bill.

Personally I reckon we need a playmaker too for that left of midfield but I think recruitment so far has been fairly decent.

We will dip into the loan market no question that will be when he’s assessed the squad and who he feels needs a move out and where he feels we need additional players. 2/3 loans I feel we will take up when premier and championship squads are finalised the rest looks like we are getting permanent deals

We have such a great manager. He is genuinely excited about the new season, has delayed his family holiday to get deals done and he really wants to be here. I hope he stays for years and years - great manager!!!

If it is TSL, and I don’t know anymore than anyone else on here, it will not be announced until England U21’s have finished their games in the the Euro U21 comp that doesn’t finish (the final) on the 28 Jun.

Wonder if the centre back could be Rhys Bennett from Man Utd , still under contract spent last season at fleetwood town played a fair few league 2 games and loves a yellow card

If you were only relying on rumours in the media then the wide player would be Joe Grey, keeper would be Lo-Tutala and the centre back a loanee from a Premier League side.

Could be some truth in the Joe Grey we would have to pay compensation for him plus we’ve had some good business with Hartlepool. Also I imagine Copps keeps his ear to the ground that way not far from where he was playing

I also don’t believe we would start the season with just a single Premier League loanee. That would likely make us an outlier in League One. If we do end up with more than the defender then there really will have to be some departures. Could be just the younger lads on loan or Close and / or Westbrooke.

Interesting shout. In the last year of his contract and likely to leave… in theory it would be nice to see us buy a player that we could develop rather than loan someone to develop for another club.

Mate of mine is a longtime Pools ST holder and seems to think we are in for Grey and sent me this
“ Grey came through the ranks of the famed Wallsend boys club (Shearer, Gazza Carrick and a heap more).
Not the tallest plays out wide or up front. Can be a handful.
22 yr old and has played well over 100 games and has an eye for goal. Works his socks off.
Should be playing in the football league.
Currently out of contract but we would still get a smaller fee as came through our youth set up.
