Shows what they can do when their backs are to the wall and they play with a bit of flair instead of looking like they play in a straight jacket.

They were aggressive, direct and very rapid. Soaked up Spanish pressure very effectively and broke quickly. No little skill also, some excellent close control and possession. That's what we want to see for the senior side.

They looked better with Stanfield playing as a number 10 ,the shape of the team was much better and more fluid

Another good win and looking like Germany in the final who currently lead France 2:0

Pretty even game but Germany took their chances. A French goal changes this.

It's on 4Seven on freeview if anyone wants to watch.

I’m not really an England supporter and definitely not a Harvey Elliott fan, but he was excellent tonight. Took his goals really well, but I think he’ll need to leave Liverpool to get into the full England squad every time, perhaps somewhere abroad, Italy or Germany ?

They are mixing it up well and look to be trying to be positive going forward Elliott took the chance well and was clinical, a long way to go yet though.

Alex Scott’s a brilliant player, him going off has made a huge difference. If he can stay fit he has a chance of making next year’s World Cup squad - he, Elliot Anderson & Adam Wharton are much better than some of the current central midfield incumbents.

Scott, Anderson and McAtee are all great in midfield.

Our youth coaching setup must be alright after all. Well done to the lads and TSL even though he didn't play too much of a role, a historic medal round his neck probably feels pretty good no matter how he got it.

That’s how you do it.

Carsley deserves massive credit for the way these lads have performed all the way through.

This tournament is the first time I’ve heard Conor Coady speak. He sounds like he’s on WhatsApp and been sped up to 2x!

St George’s Park, plus the EPL Academies, have all made a tremendous difference. Somebody once described the output as a conveyor belt of great talent, which we have seen with the senior squads of late.

So why is the England senior team so restrictive snd negative on their style of play? Is it all down to the Manager?

To be fair I imagine that Germany were missing a lot as well. Musiala & Wirtz are better than every player on that list (apart from arguably Jude B) and I’m sure there are players who will be injured or at the (*spits*) Club World Cup with Dortmund/Bayern.

Take a bow Mr Carsley. You have done a brilliant job and have shown the boring England managers and the FA how to win tournaments getting the tactics spot on and playing attractive, controlled, exciting, and entertaining football by a real team of talented footballers who support and play for each other. God only knows why he was ditched in preference to Tommy Tucker!!!!!

I only saw the last 10 minutes and then extra time (missed the goal for a piss break).  The previous 80 mins must have been good as the rest seemed to be parking the bus.  But that was highly effective nonetheless..

The first half England should have had the game sewn up it should have been 4 with the chances they created before Germany scored

Enjoyed watching these U21 games much more than the senior games of late.

The way TSL celebrated at the end was brill, you would have thought he had played the games!
