I count 7 in (so far) and not many on their way out.
Who do people anticipate leaving either permanently or on loan?
With all the wide players in now, I would expect Hurst to leave. I can see Ironside leaving also.
Any others?
-
Ironside, Close, Westbrook, probably all out on loan, with a good possibility of leaving.

Probably add Hurst to this list too
-
Up to eight going out, potentially:
Faulkner
Flint
Close
Westbrook
Hurst
Williams
Straughan-Brown
4th keeper?
Forgot to add S’Barra - that would make 9?
-
I believe Grant will keep Faulkner for the start of the campaign.
Likewise I can’t see Joe going on loan, we need him too much, he’s very different to the other forwards, and Grant has always stated he wants different options up front.
Kyle is favourite to leave, together with Close and Westbrook.
-
Might be wise to wait and see if we pick up any injuries in pre season.?
-
Sam Brown, Faulkner, and Flint could get fixed up tomorrow with good loans, which should tell the club something, and could well be looked on as for their continued development, no problem there they need matches. The others is a matter of who would want them and at what level and are they capable of that level apart from Westbrook.
Flint, Faulkner, and possibly Sam Brown we don't want to be so hasty to let out, not every player we have fetched in any year have been decent.
I remember the flying mop from Brighton, Barlow, Ennis, and some other right duds.
Long stays long in the memory and we paid money for him, at the time I can think of three or four 17 year olds better than him we let go.
-
Who finished top in the fitness tests selby?
-
Havn't got a clue ncRover ask me about the cricket I might be able to help.
-
Not so sure close will go out as remember the gaffer saying he will be back to play a vital role in league one and he thinks he will be more suited to league one.
That was when he sent him out on loan!
-
From what I am hearing you can have one guess.
-
Watching the training videos Close was right up there with the bleep test, well ahead of the pack!
Not what I expected to see, I wonder if his fitness issues are behind him.
-
Still not sure we can let any centre midfielders go without one coming in.
We’ve got 6 in Broadbent, Bailey, Gotts, Clifton,Westbrooke & Close. Sbarra you could count but I’m assuming we go 433 he wouldn’t really be in the 3.
So I’m sure we will bring someone in on loan to allow a Close or Westbrooke to leave. Close is probably favourite to go.
Other than that I think we can let Sbarra and Hurst find new clubs.

Sabs reminds me in some ways to Alfie May in his time here. Could he be another striker option? The "annoying, buzzy, rapid little shit" type?

There's a school of thought that believes certain players are more suited to a higher level of football, maybe Sbarra and Close fit into this role?
I think they will just get flattened by bigger, faster and stronger players than they competed against in the lower league.
Another example in Hurst, its infuriating that a player with his skillset has never put the work in to build his slight frame to enable him to take the knocks and manhandling that a player of his type would expect to receive.
He's been here a few seasons now and its never happened, maybe it just can't?

In my view Westbrooke is a better footballer than Sbarra.

They don’t really play the same position though.

Depends if it’s a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.
Hanlan can play wide too which could open up the no.10 role as an option to wide players such as Ajayi or Gibson.

In regards to Hurst it’s not his stature or frame, it’s his heart and desire, he often had yards on the right backs but was constantly scared to the point he forgot the ball and ran away.
When he solely focused on his game and the end goal he looked a world beater.
I and imagine a few on here have seen a few of these types of players in the past, and it is almost impossible to change their mindset and natural instinct.
Harsh to put in words as I like the lad’s ability, and the frustration is, if he could find the fire and fight, he could have a hell of a career in the game.

I think Hurst could play a part this season.
