The attendances will be up by quite a bit over the season to compensate for it.

Compensate? Do we loose something that needs compensating for ?

Blame me. That was the day my daughter was born.  I have wanted an away game each year since for purely selfish reasons.

New Years Day is a cracker though to compensate, Bolton Home, they’ll bring loads and fill the away end.

Quite possibly, although there's no guarantee their team will turn up.

I was for a game towards the end of this season at Sherwood.  I left at 215 and was back at centre parcs in the pool before 6

I’ve sneaked off to 3 home night matches from Center Parcs Sherwood over the years!

8 years since a boxing day home fixture is a total piss take!

I've always assumed that clubs have some say in their fixtures as opposed to their being compleltey random. Recently for example, difficult-to-reach away games have been played on Tuesday nights enabling them to be watched on TV.

Big Race meetings are presumably avoided so as not to clash with Rovers home games too. Obviously preferences would have to be limited so that each club gets to choose what are the most important dates for them. No one can have all the dates they want.

One might deduce that Rovers don't have the same priorities with everyone on here. (They must have known that they would not be playing Blackpool in the first few weeks of the season when they arranged the friendly.)

Then again, my assumptions may be completely wrong!

Baby arsenal of the north is due Boxing Day! The away games suit me better this year over that period!

Looks like I may miss both Rotherham and Bradford at home due to holidays, thankfully not booked yet but so need to look at a Sunday departure !
