Twice now Bronze asleep at back post for a cross.

Englands defence cant live with the movement of the spanish.

2 players sleeping and not going with the runners for the goal.

Had some good chances but wont get many.

England need to press higher up the pitch - too easy for Spain to build up again..

Spain controlling midfield at the moment, we have to do better.

Spain will control midfield, they have better players there.  That’s why we need to be more clinical up front.

We've rode our luck a few times in these Euros. I don't think we can expect that today; Spain are just too good.

Best women's team in the world by a country mile.

With the Spanish psyche the longer their game goes without a second goal, we just need to plant those seeds of doubt to make the last 20 mins very interesting.

Serina will have to make some changes both tactically and personal much earlier than she has previously.

Cannot just keep sitting deep and smashing it upfield.
Walsh in the middle has been nowhere near the play.

It’s remarkably similar to the men last year. Generally underwhelming but a great team spirit, some game changers and a healthy dose of luck. Ultimately that will only take you so far. It’s by no means over but just like when the men were 1 down to Spain last year it feels like it’s long odds to get back into it.

Terrible decision to start a very obviously unfit James. She is a talent but manager has major questions to answer for starting her. That’s 40 minutes of us playing with ten players basically. Kelly added hugely since coming on.

For all the comms, you would think Spain had created loads of chances. They ain’t! England have created clearer chances in this, this is the best I’ve seen them all tournament.

Lucy Bronze needs more support against Pina and now Paralluelo.  Especially when she’s on a yellow card too.

Jess Carter having a good game.

Russo was starting to stretch the defence with her movement. With them both on spains defence would of had some problems.

Kelly, hemp, agyemang and russo are a very good attack.

England the better side 2nd half, though injury time was nervy. Started to sit back

Some poor decisions. Some of thise were never fouls then.

England are poor defending down the left.
Lets get forward quicker and push spain back.

Ian wright believes that russo must be injured because if not then was a poor decision to take her off.

Well, they've been resilient. Just needed something to break for them but, the ref helped Spain when they don't really need it.

You have to admire Spains technical ability. It takes alot of coaching and alot of practice.

Came on vs Sweden, hand in both goals and scored in the shoot out.  Scored the winner in the semi final, creates the equaliser tonight and scores the winning penalty.

Credit to England’s defence - it isn’t just attacking which wins the game.

Well done England ladies  :scarf: they were not great in my opinion during he tournament, but they really played well in the final, creating more clear cut chances and going toe to toe with Spain.

3 stand out players for me …

Well done J Carter , she was the best player for England today, and after the all racist abuse.

Hampton the keeper is a very good player, and seems to be very good with penalties.

Kelly, I can see why we keep her as super sub, it just works, but she is a hell of a player with quality most don’t have.

The negative for me is James - I am disappointed after all the hype I have heard, but her expressions don’t look like she is present? I am told she will be the best in the world eventually. I hope so for our sake, but she doesn’t have the right body language for me.

Any way - GET IN ENGLAND

Keeper did very well. Thought the other one who left in a paddy wasn’t a loss in terms of contribution. The new lady appears more about the team and less about her.

Totally agree with your selections. James is an enigma and the hope is she'll mature into a better player, and show her best like she did 3 years ago. (She did her bit defensively today) She and Agymang up top could be devastating. They and a few others are the future now as Williamson, Mead and Bronze must be close to international retirement.

They played against a bunch of scandalously cheating divers. And kept their cool.

They played against a referee who gave some awful decisions against them. And kept their heads.

They played a quality side today. And got the better of them.

What a great team.

Williamson is 28.
Far from retirement for her. Though bronze should retire on a high she comes across as somebody who doesnt want to retire and will be available for selection as long as she can walk.

Just got back after watching the game with family.
We were really strong tonight, never gave up and the longer the second half went on with us behind the more I felt that we would level it up.
What a brilliant achievement by the girls that is.
Just had a quick scan through the other comments on here and I also thought that the Spaniards were screaming and diving at every opportunity and despite all their obvious skills they were cheating throughout the game.
I’m so happy that we beat them.

An absolutely great win, but how did that happen, we get beaten by France, in the group, win in the quarter final in the last minute. win the semi final in the last moments of extra time. and win the final in a penalty shoot out after missing two ourselves including the first.
We won a competition being in front for about four minutes in 330 minutes of the last three games, it will never be done again
It's a funny old game, that's finding a way to win.

James got through the earlier games, but was just no fit enough to get through the latter games, the manager should have realised this and it’s probably a poor decision she would been given a very hard time had we lost.
Agree with all the comments about the ref, a replay of some of the fouls made her decisions look very silly. Thought a number of the refs were poor, if she was given final because of being one of the best, says it all!
