Joined Gateshead on loan until January

Managed by ex-Rover Alun Armstrong, with Will Flint already on loan there.
-
He needs to be playing but surely he's better than that standard?

I like Hurst and he had loads of ability. There must be a reason that he can’t translate it into consistent performance though. He has to perform on this loan or it will be a tough road back.
-
Surely hes league 2 standard
-
Plenty of ability but just not strong enough
-
He shows flashes thats it, a bit like Gibson.
For me there are miles between them 2 then molly and middleton.

Well it’s likely 2 transfer windows that no league 2 club has come in for him.
I think he’s overrated by some because he catches the eye when he’s on it.
Reality is, there’s hundreds of wingers like that who don’t make it at a good level because they aren’t consistent enough.
-
He's actually gone straight into their squad for the game today against Southend United.
-
It's an amazing signing for them.

Thought Middleton looked great last weekend but very early to call something like that. Also still think Gibson is underrated by most of our fans and brings a lot more to the team than he’s generally acknowledged to.
-
Hurst reminds me of Felix albeit a little less quality. The coaches said of him that he had plenty of talent but try as they may they couldn’t get through to him and it was wasted, I feel Kyle is the same, for some reason he isn’t listening
-
Surely hes league 2 standard
He’s only league 2 standard if a league 2 club shows interest.
-
Now it’s up to Kyle he couldn’t get a regular place with us over the last two seasons in League 2 so how anybody can think he should have gone to a league 2 club is beyond me. He went to Scotland and again couldn’t get a starting spot consistently. Now Kyle go to Gateshead and prove to yourself and your team mates you can consistently do it in the National League if selected. Good luck
-
Hardly pulled up trees in Scotland, which is not exactly a top level of football. Never saw evidence of being League Two standard, too inconsistent.
One decent game in every 5, maximum of 4 decent moves in any of those games. No tracking back, lightweight and questionable attitude.
Sorry, I don’t buy in to the lad at all.
-
The lad has got talent, we have seen that, but only in a small number of games.
I believe he is better than the National league, but no one is going to take him on until he shows some consistency, so he has to make this loan work, otherwise this will be his level.
-
Tough day for Flint and Hurst today....
-
Anyone know how they got on?
Tough day for Flint and Hurst today....

They lost 0- 3 to Southend and Kyle came on for the last quarter , Will stsrted .
-
I’ve always been a fan of Hurst but I just can’t see him in a rovers shirt again.

im same as yourself definitely got sumthing about him especially when he has got the ball but obviously doesn’t do enough with the ball for grants liking and hardly ripped it up in Scotland last season

Played 90minutes tonight and provided an assist in Gateshead's 4-3 defeat to Newcastle United u21s in the National League Cup.

Agreed, I think National League is perfect level for him right now. He has talent but hasn't shown it. So now he needs to show it. So being at National League in a team he'll play most games he's got chance to achieve some consistency and show what he can do, be a big fish in a small pond and earn the right to play at a higher level. Up to him now.
