Title: Atmosphere
Post by: scawsby steve on August 09, 2025, 08:45:27 pm
It's a long time since I've witnessed scenes like those when Owen hit the winner.

The whole stand turned into a lunatic asylum, and I was definitely one of the inmates. Just sheer pandemonium.

I'm putting it down as one of the "I was there" moments.

Watching on my laptop, I screamed so loud when that went in that the tanks up the hill on Salisbury Plain stopped firing. The battle was declared complete.

There have been quite a few of those moments under McCann SS.
Sadly I wasn’t able to be there for that one.
I did go mad when that goal went in.
Proper scared the dog.

It was fantastic today.

We kept it going from Notts County last season.
What a brilliant away day.

A great effort by our supporters today. That win was shared by everyone, we all did our bit, players and fans.

We were certainly worth that extra 0.1 goal.

We had seats at the front today and when Bailey scored I was one of the first to hug him - what a celebration! The joy was palpable amongst the whole team and the fans. Such togetherness and shared experience, wonderful!

I was jumping up and down here. Walter (my cat) was bemused. Momentum is a beautiful thing.

What made it so satisfying for me was the fact of Mansfield players doing the usual fake cramp tricks to take the wind out of the Rovers' sails in the last ten minutes.  We score and suddenly all their cramps magically disappear.

Yeah you could tell that they were settling for a point, something McCann never does! Karma is a wonderful thing!!

They might be rivals but I resent your reference to them!

Was at a mates wedding watching on my phone whilst the speeches were being done. Squeezed the life out of my wife’s hand with a “get the f@ck in” muttered under my breath. She was not happy.

Amazing atmosphere yesterday some proper limbs when Bails scored the winner - agree it was justice too for the time wasting especially the guy who limped back on to the pitch to get cramp
