This is our 61st season in the League Cup and tonight is only our second ever away win beyond Round 1.
The only other was a second round away win at Watford by 2-1 in 2014-15. We have never won away in Round 3 or later.
This is the 11th time we have reached Round 3, although once we started in Round 2 (1960-61, the first ever season of the Competition)

Port vale away in next round try get into the 4th

We have a 100% record in Round 4 - beating Hull in 1975-76 and famously Aston Villa in 2005-06.
-
I've got a weird feeling we will get Millwall in the next round.
-
We're due a home tie surely?

That is an absolutely appalling record, no dodging that. Horrific.

Ended up running Fulham close in the following round at Craven Cottage. Didn't we have a chance to win it? Theo perhaps?
-
We missed a pen I think.
-
Theo Robinson had what some call a tame penalty saved at 1-2 (Copps scored the first). Otherwise a “coolly taken” penalty if the keeper guesses wrongly.
I’d been in London on business that day, so at least my travel was paid.!

We were very very poor in this competition prior to rejoining the League in 2003.
This included a dreadful (Competition record maybe?) run of 22 games without a win between 1987-88 and 1997-98. This was in the days of 2-leg matches in Round 1 (and also Round 2 - the run started with 2 unsurprising defeats to Arsenal in the second round in 1987-88).
This run was ended by coming from 0-2 down to beat Grimsby in 2003 with Greg Blundell scoring a late winner against the 9-man team from Blundell Park.
For completeness, in the days of replays we have twice drawn an away match and won the Home replay in later rounds - Darlington Round 2 in 1966-67 and Torquay Round 3 in 1975-76.
We have been significantly better since 2003.
Edit to backup that last comment:
Pre 2003: W22, D28 L47 Goals 115-193
Post 2003: W21, D7 L19 Goals 71 - 67
All matches going to penalties counted as draws

DU, I remember the away draw with Darlington in 66/67. I thought we'd get murdered there, as they'd just trounced us 4-0 at Belle Vue in the league, and Bobby Cummins had scored a hat trick, giving the unfortunate John Wylie the runaround. John was standing in at centre half after the tragic death of John Nicholson.
Cummins again scored in the cup match, but we managed to scrape a 1-1 draw, and beat them in the replay; 2-1 I believe.

Very impressive memory SS - I was also at the home games (0-4 ouch which I do remember well) and the replay win which was 2-0 but I had to look at my records for that.
What I do remember is that my hero Laurie Sheffield scored 6 goals in the League Cup that season but was transferred before the FA Cup 1st Round. But I thought he had set a new club record of 6 Cup goals in a season. I was not 100% right because at that time I was unaware of a Cup competition in the 1930s between all the Division 3 North sides - sort of half sized Vertu Trophy - and a player called R Morgan scored 4 in that competition and two in the FA Cup in 1937-38, so Laurie 'only' equaled the record, not set a new one.
Since then Heffs with 10 in 2006-07 and Alfie May with 9 in 2018-19 have beaten that record,
Brendan O'Callaghan (1975-76), Heffs (2005-06) and Ian Duerden in 1998-99 (incl Non league cups) have also all equaled Laurie's 6 since.
