In the Ireland U21 squad. No O’Riordan.
-
That’s the lot then, him and Crew called up. So unless Bradford have three, then the game is likely still on.

Or the new striker is called up.
-
You're forgetting Owen Bailey. He must be a shoe in, for England or Spain.
-
Interesting pick from their manager.
Surely only a matter of time before Grehan gets the nod over O’Riordan for us?
COR been good but not much between them on current showing. Always better to develop the player who is actually ours.

I think O'Riordan is too old (b 19 Oct 2003) - how strict are the rules?

It’s age at the start of the qualification campaign I think.
-
sharman Lowe now too old for England U21 apparently according to Bolton site .
-
Pleased he has been called up, and wish him all the best for the games.
I recall there were some negative comments about him during the preseason friendlies, but he played very well at middlesborough against quality players.
I am really looking forward to see how he develops, he our player not loaned, and could turn out to be a very good signing for us.

You can now see the standard Faulkner needs to get to, and that just to train with the first team
-
Faulkner can’t even get in the side at Harrogate at the moment and he is miles away from Grehan ability wise. It doesn’t look great for him really at Rovers.
-
No surprise to me,he is my favourite signing of the summer with Middleton a close second, think Grehan is highly likely to be a shrewd signing for us

Reads crystal ball for up coming up post
I think you'll find actually the Irish fa have been in touch hoping his nana once had a guiness as actually he's better than Grehan

You’re all going to have to answer to Selby.
-
We have a cunning plan, Bobby is off to the registrar next week to change his name to Ofaulkner.

Played the full match in a 2-1 victory over Moldova.

Game of opinions but can’t see that at all. O’riordan has been our best centre back. Comfortable on the ball and massive in stature. Far more likely to come for Pearson/mcgrath. O’riordan has pretty much been the only constant in that back line everyone else has been rotated about which clearly shows what Grant thinks of him.
Early days but I’d actually go as far as saying he might be the best centre back I’ve seen at DRFC since Matt Mills.
-
Except that O’Riordan is not ‘our player’, he’s a loanee from Blackburn until the end of the season.
Grant & his staff have spoken about signing players not just for ‘now’ but also with an eye on the future of the club (thanks to Terry, Grant has that ‘luxury’) & Grehan certainly fits into that category.
I think we’re better served in central midfield with O’Riordan, Pearson, Grehan & McGrath than we were last season when we were bemoaning the loss of Olowu & Anderson.
-
O'Riordan has been exceptional for us this season, i thought we may have issues with Anderson, Olowu and Wood all leaving but if anything we have looked stronger faster and safer with our current defence especially our centre half's. You could also say its brought the best out of players like Nixon and Senior who both look fully on it this season.
If we had the possibility i'd look to see if we could sign O'Riordan but at the current trajectory we have no chance.

Looks a Rolls Royce of a cb , very calm & reads the game well. . Be interesting to see how he copes facing sterner opponents than what he's faced so far.

Am I correct in thinking Rovers get a payment when a player achieves an international call up?
