On my jollies so Im on with reading this now.

I was born in 84 and my dad started taking me rovers from about 1990ish.

I remember bits of what went on with the fire in main stand, the chants against Richardson, the coffin etc. Remember Darren Moore playing for us, Colin cramb, John schofield etc all mentioned as being sold to raise funds under administrator.

I was far to young to realise how bad it actually was at the time but reading this it was a bloody shambles! Richardson picking team etc? Some of the quotes from the man are ridiculous. Also some of the dodgy stuff he was in with, the race horse debacle I never knew off. Just an overall dodgy bloke from what I've read so far!!!!

Certainly an eye opener of how blessed we are at the minute with the owner we have!!!

That git, Firestarter as he was often known, is the reason the VSC, and this board, exist. There was, and, I hope there is an absolute determination amongst Rovers supporters that an arsehole like him would find life very, very difficult if he should ever take control of the Rovers. This board is a very, very important comms channel.  The VSC is a very, very important collective mouthpiece. In my personal opinion we should all care as much for the VSC as we do for the Rovers. Without the one we very, very nearly lost the other.

Later: I should also have said, and I regret not doing so, that the Board of the VSC, its Directors and everyone who gives up their time to support the VSC should all be given our huge and collective thanks. A fair number of them have given years; some have obtained the respect of clubs and supporter organisations right up and down this country. We don't, any of us, give thanks enough.

The silver lining to a very dark cloud Bob, the ethos of the current club started with the adversity that the club endured during these days, and the legacy of those days have required any subsequent owners to take the fans into account. Long may it continue.
