Title: Tips for Spurs away
Post by: Londoner on September 11, 2025, 06:19:35 pm
Away pubs.

The Beehive. Good pub, around half way between Seven Sisters Tube and the ground. Closest station is Bruce Grove.

Antwerp Arms. Closest station is White Hart Lane. Convenient for the ground.

Travel. Overground from Liverpool Street is around 20 minutes to WHL and then a 5 minute walk.
Northumberland Park is 15 mins overground and a 10 minute walk. So six of one....
I ALWAYS go back to London post match via Northumberland Park. Much more civilised.

You can get a Thameslink from Peterborough to Finsbury Park and then one stop on the Victoria line to Seven Sisters.

Lots of interesting restaurants
/cafes to eat in (no segregation). Colombian, Ethiopian, Jamaican...you name it.

We’ve booked a return Enfield > White Hart Lane, what’s that like for getting back after a matchday Londoner.

We were going to do Broxbourne Nudga, Enfield looks like it makes more sense, hopefully!. £8.99 parking at the Tesco's next to the station.

What’s the best route from King’s Cross? Turn to Severn sisters and walk?

Its a big Spoons from memory. Might want to ring to see whether away fans are OK. I can't recall off the tip of my head.

White Hart Lane is busy after matches but you shouldn't have a problem if you have allowed plenty of time.

Yep. Victoria line to Seven Sisters. Its a 30 minute walk. Or get any bus going North from Aeven Sisters....they mostly end in a 9 (149 etc).

You can also pick up the Overground there....2 stops to WHL

Yes thanks on behalf of all on here Londoner . Most will see the tips and others will doubtless have mates who see them

I am aiming for the Breweries that only open their Brewery Taps on Match days , so any Intel on those please

I'm looking forward to the visit as the Stadium looks great , and my only hope is no repeat of the 7-2 score at WHL which I DID see and still mention almost daily lol

EDIT ... Believe Redemption Brewery is one and they own the Antwerp Arms I believe.

That's the one. As you say, open on match days and allows away fans. Also it is over towards the area where away coaches park up i believe.

I have never been in there as I prefer a creme de menthe and cherryade (with umbrella) to beer.

How much is a pint of bitter down there Londoner? Is it a lot poorer and much dearer in the ground?
I like hand pulled and the best I have had near a ground was the Griffin hotel at Brentford. London Pride with a head on, first class, and we won that day.

£6 to £7. In that ball park.

I don't drink it but I would hazard a guess that if you want bitter/stout etc you would be better drinking outside the ground.

Very few pubs do cask ale as week day footfall is small and pubs rely on matchdays to survive. As I mentioned earlier, the Antwerp Arms is probably your best bet and close to WHL station.

In the Ground they brew their own Beers. Currently a Pint of one of their Beers is 5.10 and another Beavertown Beer is 5.50

I will look for the Link but I'm sure it is on here somewhere . It basically says " fans usually go anywhere but the Ground they are visiting to avoid the Beer served at that Ground . This is one of those times they might think twice and drink AT the Ground"

The High Cross pub it mentions for away fans is TINY, which considering it is a converted public toilet is not surprising. I only go in there when I'm feeling flush.

Any experience of getting to the ground from Wood Green, Londoner? Just wondering whether it's quicker to take the shuttle bus or walk? What's traffic like that way before/after the game?

Its a W3 bus or a Spurs shuttle which needs to be pre-booked. Getting there will be ok, I havent used it but I reckon it will be mobbed post match. From what I have been told i believe the shuttle is quite efficient.

I think it is a 45 minute walk. Not sure i would do that at night to be honest.

Back in the 70s I often did the bus from WG to Spurs and back and it was fine but that was a very long time ago. https://tottenhamhotspur.firsttravelsolutions.com/

Londoner what is it like after a night match getting back to Kings X? If it goes to pens (which I doubt it will) it would be nearly 10.30pm and last train back to Donny is 11.33pm. Would we make it back to Kings X by then or would we need to leave earlier.

BR, even with quite a bit of injury time, the match should finish by 9.40 pm. If it goes to penalties, then no matter how many pens are taken, it should be all over by 10.00 pm, or not much after.

You'll be OK for that last train.

For those that haven't seen them , there are lots of restrictions on what can and cannot be taken in at THFC Stadium

Check them out here in Facilities then look at Bag Policy and Prohibited items as this may save "losing" stuff at the Ground

No mention of a ‘an old cock linnet’ I noticed.

And don’t forget, if you ‘dilly & dally’ on the way back to the coaches, don’t ask a ‘special cos you can’t trust a special like the old time coppers’ when you can’t find your way ‘ome.

Tricky one.

Personally I would go Arnos Grove (Picadilly tune line) to Finsbury Park and then one stop on the Victoria line to Seven Sisters and then walk (30mins), catch a bus (usually end in a 9) or get the overground 2 stops to White Hart Lane.

You can go Arnos Grove to Wood Green and then get the W3 bus to White Hart Lane.

The Arnos Grove to Wood Greend and W3 bus to the ground is the quickest route assuming you can get on the bus.

Otherwise, get to Wood Green and book the Spurs shuttle to and from the ground.

Going from Kings Cross to Seven Sisters on Victoria Line, then either bus or train to White Hart Lane. Depends on train times.

Yes I contacted spurs about the shuttle and they told me it wood be a good option to get to Wood Green and use the shuttle.

Another option for those driving wood be to park at the Wood Green mall, east and west car parks are large and very cheap. Malls close early but easy access from street, car parks close at 12.
Again shuttle can be booked from Wood Green station.

I've heard tell the Turkish restaurants on Green Lanes might be some of the best in Europe. People tell me they are better than Istanbul. If you fancy a very good kebab head that way, look out for one with a traditional wood fired oven. These places are often family run and they take a great pride in their food.

I always eat at La Barca. 685 High Road, London N17 8AD

On non-match days it's like being on the set of an Abanian Sopranos.

No team segregation. Gets busy so get their early as service can be a bit slow at times. I've been eating there for the best part of 20 years and never had any stomach issues etc.

Sells beer and cider on draught as well.

The novelty for me will be the Ground itself. Ill take my own Food , eat it last minute on Coach as I cant take it in of course and get inside to see the best Ground in this Country I have been in

Current leader is not too far from THS a team that play in Red and White which was good but will be eclipsed on Weds

Im almost tempted to say the Virtual Ground app is Number 1 now.

After the food the Beer , and the fill from the bottom Glasses .personally I cant wait

Ill have a quid on 7 2 just in case  :scarf:

I used to live in Enfield so will park on Baker Street (free) and walk to Enfield town then into Seven Sisters

Is there free parking around that area, in case I can’t park on Baker Street?

I might go Enfield to Seven Sisters then walk up via McDonalds

Seen a few parking at Enfield Tesco then train straight to white hart lane from there. Think it’s only 3 stops

I hate paying to park. Parking should be free

I meant to say, there are local schools, community centres close to the school that allow parking on match days (£15-20 from memory).

I've left it very late to even think about where I'm gonna park but favouring Broxbourne or Bishop Stortford and get train into Northumberland Park. Bishop Stortford is looking favourite as we can go nice and early, park close to station and grab some food and drink before jumping on the train for the 30 min journey. M11, A14 means no Black Cat A1 closure to worry about.

Londoner, how bad is Northumberland Park station post match?

It is very efficient. Better than White Hart Lane. I always use NP and I don't think it has ever taken me longer than 10 minutes to get on the platform. Trains are very frequent. With a lower crowd than usual there will be no
issues.

Stay on the left hand side of the approach road to go south and right hand for northbound trains.

M11 A14 could be a good way home. Is the back cat closed at night?
