He's been found dead in his house ,I'm shocked and saddened,he struggled with drugs and his mental health but this has brought me to tears

Very very sad.

I was a HUGE Ricky Hatton fan.
The fight against Costa tszyu was amazing.
I vividly remember the hype leading up to the Floyd mayweather fight aswell.

What an awesome and relatable guy he was. Ingrained into UK, boxing and sporting culture in the early part of this century.
I'm going to take a moment to reflect on this.

"There's only one Ricky Hatton!....."

RIP Ricky.

Carried British boxing on his back when the scene was struggling. A legend, undeniably.

I didnt know he was in training for a comeback. RIP.

I'm not a big Boxing fan, but whenever I heard him on TV, he always came across as a really decent, likeable bloke. I know he had his battles with mental health which isn't nice. I get the impression, he really was a very respected Boxer who will be greatly missed by many who knew him.

RIP

A ‘proper fighter’.

Forty six……no age.

Condolences to his family. He was a true ‘British Great’.

RIP Hitman

Shared a Plane ride once with him and didn't know him

In the Departure Gate I had been watching a bloke wearing a Sombrero which I thought strange as Flight was going to Atlanta

My Cousins who know loads on loads of Sports came over and said have you seen Ricky Hatton. Is he the bloke with the Sombrero but he wasn't but they were together

He travelled in Economy with about 3 others and apart from (maybe) a tactical sleep he was accommodating every request for photos , autographs , loaning the Sombrero etc etc

He looked a true gent and I thought like me ha was Las Vegas bound but instead he was going to Atlanta to fix up a Fight with someone

I watch his documentary last night about his life ,it really gives a great insight into how he was and why he fell out with his dad for 8 years over money after his training sued them for unpaid wages ,really sad to watch
