Title: Spurs V TLOD
Post by: Guernsey Exile on September 24, 2025, 06:02:20 pm
Evening All,

Watching from home tonight with a beer. Flight prices just a little bit expensive to get over!

Have a cracking night everyone

In normal circumstances I’d be there, but my recent heart attack and hospital appointment this afternoon has put paid to that Sky Sports+ for me

Health reasons stopping me too, not my health though.
My wife is having a tough time just now so I can’t justify going.

Best wishes to you all, life can be tough eh! I'd have loved to have gone but unable. No sky sports here, but I can post a freebee link if I find one that is working well.

Prediction - has to be 7-2 to us. One more tick on the bucket list of balances in the world that's needed  :clapping:

Yeah crikey best wishes to your wife and also Filo.
Fingers crossed we don’t get battered, and don’t over exert ourselves, the league is way more important. Just listening to football heaven and some Barnsley supporters are not happy with last nights result? I hope if we do lose heavily out fans act a bit better.

Hope we can all have a boost from a performance tonight - I was at the 7-2 and we played well - I was mighty proud of my team that night

I think this is great by Grant, give the players who got us here the chance again, I feel it would be a big kick in the teeth had he played the normal league team.

Can’t understand McCain’s selection here, complete second string back 4?

No broadbent, who’s been influential
And 4-3-3 when we play 4-2-3-1 all season?

It’s amazing how long housework, shopping, washing, cooking etc., takes isn’t it? I’ve been learning on the job for a long time now. it makes you realise how much you took for granted for 50 years or more.

Is Olusanya actually at league one level?

He looks amateurish to me, not following up on scraps, poor first touch, never where he should be? Complete contrast to Billy

Post by: PDX_Rover on September 24, 2025, 08:33:36 pm
They’re big buggers Spurs. A goal that won’t come off 9 times out of 10 and an own goal. Lawlor has made some good saves. Spurs clearly a different level but we’ve had some chances. Unlucky for Bails. A goal and we are right back in it.

You would expect younger players to be a bit quicker in reaction and that has been a general failing in the front line.

Agreed, I thought Mols would come on at HT.

Nonetheless, we've started the second half well but you feel Spurs could take it up another level or two at any point.

That's Crewe done for me not good enough get rid grant can't make a simple f**king pass

Boys done well at least they tried still need a striker grant have a word see if spurs have a spare 5 million pound player left

Played some tidy football in places and if one of our chances had gone in it may have been different.  Bit pissed off they scored right at the end there... makes it look like a thumping - when it was far from that.

We can be really proud of that performance tonight.
Olusanya not good enough so far and he should have put that header away.
Crew just kept giving the ball away, I don’t get the hype about him.
Overall though we will benefit from that tonight.

3-0 full time, last goal makes it look worse than it was, not sure why we took it quickly instead of putting it into the box. But not humiliated at all and gave as good, at times as we got. Need to be much more clinical in front of goal though.

Not sure at this moment what Crew is bring to the team, gave the ball away far too often.

I got a lot of stick for criticising Crew. The fact is that he has not seemed to want to commit anywhere near 100%. Even Osayuno and Ajayi could not be accused of that.

Proud of the team tonight, thought we stood up to them & played some really good football. Both full backs ran their nads off. Thought the 3rd goal flattered them a bit. Don't know why Mollyneux decided to play it short with seconds left, especially to Crew who looks miles off it, just strolls around with no urgency & giving the ball away. Loads of positives to take from tonight though, our movement & passing is improving all the time.
