Today’s team. Lawlor starts
COYR
-
Suprised to see Sterry in the team, he did not look ready or confident in the game against Wimbledon. I suppose every game he will gain confidence though.
-
Some shots on target would be nice seeing as we're ranked 24th for them per game.
-
We must be very efficient at shot conversion then, as we aren’t anywhere near 24th in the only table that counts…
-
I hope for the goal keeping coach that Lawlor does okay, but he’s not the GK I would have picked. The rest of the team is how I selected it
-
Nicked from Ricky Charlesworth X time line. The away end today.
COYR
-
It's the donny boys making all the noise
-
Need to get something from today to get us back on track. Not an easy game though!
-
That could easily have been a pen to Luton, think we got away with that
-
Under the cosh , we need to get on the ball otherwise it's going to be a long afternoon.
-
The Luton fans are a bad tempered bunch aren’t they? Southern moaners.
-
Listening on Rovers+ and there is a fan close to Liam Hoden who’s going to give himself a heart attack if he doesn’t calm down
COYR

Think it hit Pearson on the shoulder.

Fanne is a bleeding nuisance

Fanne is a bleeding nuisance
Reason IR?
-
Lame joke Wilts. Every rime Liam says Fanne
-
Been coming
-
Way too easy though
-
Naismith not tracked for the goal, should do better
Now pen to Luton
COYR
-
Are we good enough against these stats shows there’s only one side in this game
-
Fanne opening his legs for pen.
-
Quality save from Lawlor
-
Lawlor saves the pen.
-
Well done Lawlor.
-
Fantastic save by Lawlor
-
Lame joke Wilts. Every rime Liam says Fanne
Got it, I.R….I think!
-
Knackers. Lawlor maybe should have done better with the goal.

The Luton goal

COYR
-
We don’t look like scoring
-
Another header inside 6 yard box . As a keeper it’s on you if that happens
-
Luton’s pen claim for handball against Pearson(?)

Not blaming Lawlor for the goal, other than could he maybe have come for it? But Pearson let the man infornt of him - Big point to make though, it was never a free kick, Middleton made no contact and got a yellow card, seen it back a few times he knows he’s not getting it and goes down.
The free kick on the edge of the area for handball was inside the box too, were not playing well, but the ref has mugged us off here.
-
Get Duerden on!!
-
In other news - Hurst scores for Gateshead.
-
Luton will be up towards the top end of this league come end of season.
All players are a yard quicker and move the ball very well.
They have also been good in not giving any of our players time or space.
Cannot pick out any single 1 of our players for criticism, we just are not as good as them.
-
Gotts replaced by Close at half time

Some refs give way to pressure from home fans on this kind of ground when they are so close to the pitch.
As for Lawlor and the goal it seemed to be straight at him and he just does not have quick enough reactions any more; it did look “saveable”.
-
They fall over a lot, and easily, for big lads.
-
This ref is a proper nonce.

Begs the question how he managed to save the penalty then.
-
Gibson and Olusanya for Middleton and Sharp

Pearson was at fault there, he was ball watching, didn’t check his shoulder and let the goalscorer in front of him for a free header.
Lawlor stood no chance.
-
We seem to have improved in the second half.
-
According to BBC 4 shots yet no saves by keeper
This is our failing we do not score enough and that’s put pressure on our defence. We are finding our level in this league.
-
BBC says we have zero shots on target after 70 mins is that right? Bloody hell.
-
O'lasagna. WTF. He's the new Hiwula.
-
We've played super well this 2nd half but Olusanya isn't the solution up front.
-
Gibson and Olusanya for Middleton and Sharp
COYR
He’s ordered Bailey to stay up front too
-

Sure molyneux had 1 . Could be after 70 though
-
Molly is in such poor form, I’m not s,Ute he should be getting games with these performances. He does pop up with the odd bit of quality that gives us something, but as my lad has just said “we would be better with TLT on the wing at the moment”
-
Luke's still trying and got enough credit in the bank to last a long time

Good job your lad isn’t picking the team then.
-
Fully hoping to have egg on my face of he scores.
But that olasagne is awful. Offers nothing.
-
Who actually scouted olasagne and thought he was any good ?
-
Olusanya is showing zero ability. Had the opportunity to play in Hanlan, decides to try for a worldy. Ball ends up in Penzance.
-
About as useful as a lasagne
-
He's got a first touch like a professional gong player. Jesus wept.
-
Time to try our own youth players because this lot up front are shit
-
I think that a tired Billy Sharp is a better option than Olusanya.
-
About as useful as a lasagne
Lasagne is lovely. It’s pasta joke at this point.
This referee’s gash. Cluelessness in Ski strawberry yogurt pink.
-
We haven’t got a central forward on the pitch that can control a ball.
-
We have made mistakes with both strikers in the transfer window and this will cause a problem until the next transfer window
-
To think we binned Ironside off for these 2
-
Time to try our own youth players because this lot up front are shit
It’s difficult to believe that young loanees are ready for men’s football, but never any of our own it seems.
-
Molyneux blazes over in acres of space on the left side of the box.
COYR
-
Hanlan and olasagne is just rakish Bingham and kwame thomas mk2.
Everyone could see we needed a striker in the summer
-
The Luton manager is a very angry little man.
-
Can’t recall a shot on target all game.
-
Bails hit the bar.
-
Molyneux blazes over in acres of space on the left side of the box.
COYR
It was a decent effort to be fair.
-
Can’t recall a shot on target all game.
According to the bbc we did manage one. Hooray
-
Well… some work for Grant to do to get us back on track. Still in a decent position but some action needed. Don’t see anything remotely League One quality in Hanlan and Olusanya.
-
That stat is crackers.
If a shot is blocked on the line by a defender it doesn’t count as a shot on target.

That’s the trouble with stats; they never tell the full story.
-
Can’t recall a shot on target all game.
Molyneux cut inside and had one saved down by the post midway thro the second half
-
According to stats we had 1 shot on target from 10 shots. From a misfiring Molyneux to two astonishing poor summer striker signings we will struggle to score. I not sure what Grant can do when the tools selected are not good enough to keep us with the promotion group of teams
-
Full time 1-0 not the result we were wishing for, but looking at PVO it’s what the majority were predicting. 9th in the league currently on to Burton next Saturday.
Onwards and upwards
COYR
-
That was really poor, offered very little threat going forward, midfield virtually non existent, passing awful. Just very flat with no urgency or movement.
Last 20 minutes we should have thrown the kitchen sink at what I thought were a very average side, it was all a bit huff & puff, & a very easy 1-0 for Luton. Back to the drawing board.

You do realise that blocked shots, which would otherwise be on target, and hitting the woodwork, are not listed as on target.?
We’ve just played a side who were in the premier league when we were 3rd bottom in the 4th division.
Just need a confidence jab IMHO. Hopefully next Saturday.

it does if the keeper is beaten

Ok, let’s say instead then that a shot blocked by a defender two yards out, with the keeper behind or at the side of the said defender, doesn’t count as a shot on target.
