Suprised to see Sterry in the team, he did not look ready or confident in the game against Wimbledon. I suppose every game he will gain confidence though.

Some shots on target would be nice seeing as we're ranked 24th for them per game.

We must be very efficient at shot conversion then, as we aren’t anywhere near 24th in the only table that counts…

I hope for the goal keeping coach that Lawlor does okay, but he’s not the GK I would have picked. The rest of the team is how I selected it

Not blaming Lawlor for the goal, other than could he maybe have come for it? But Pearson let the man infornt of him - Big point to make though, it was never a free kick, Middleton made no contact and got a yellow card, seen it back a few times he knows he’s not getting it and goes down.

The free kick on the edge of the area for handball was inside the box too, were not playing well, but the ref has mugged us off here.

Luton will be up towards the top end of this league come end of season.

All players are a yard quicker and move the ball very well.

They have also been good in not giving any of our players time or space.

Cannot pick out any single 1 of our players for criticism, we just are not as good as them.

Some refs give way to pressure from home fans on this kind of ground when they are so close to the pitch.

As for Lawlor and the goal it seemed to be straight at him and he just does not have quick enough reactions any more; it did look “saveable”.

Pearson was at fault there, he was ball watching, didn’t check his shoulder and let the goalscorer in front of him for a free header.
Lawlor stood no chance.

This is our failing we do not score enough and that’s put pressure on our defence. We are finding our level in this league.

If a shot is blocked on the line by a defender it doesn’t count as a shot on target.

According to stats we had 1 shot on target from 10 shots. From a misfiring Molyneux to two astonishing poor summer striker signings we will struggle to score. I not sure what Grant can do when the tools selected are not good enough to keep us with the promotion group of teams

That was really poor, offered very little threat going forward, midfield virtually non existent, passing awful. Just very flat with no urgency or movement.

Last 20 minutes we should have thrown the kitchen sink at what I thought were a very average side, it was all a bit huff & puff, & a very easy 1-0 for Luton. Back to the drawing board.

You do realise that blocked shots, which would otherwise be on target, and hitting the woodwork, are not listed as on target.?

We’ve just played a side who were in the premier league when we were 3rd bottom in the 4th division.

Just need a confidence jab IMHO. Hopefully next Saturday.

Ok, let’s say instead then that a shot blocked by a defender two yards out, with the keeper behind or at the side of the said defender, doesn’t count as a shot on target.
